  1. Yes, SDS was an NG protectorate at the time of spying. Not sure what you mean by Atlas is at war with Kashmir. edit: Wait, do you mean SDS was protected by NG and Atlas? Either way, I think my little vignette was closer to accurate than what had been presented. Or not, I was sort of watching from afar. Feel free to clarify more, that was just my impression of what happened.
  2. Are you part of the Libertarian party of cyber nations? Because there's kind of a flag theme there.
  3. I think everybody's short selling this one a little bit. The final countdown was attacking someone close to Kashmir, an SDS member was aiding the attacker, Kashmir messaged the SDS member to stop aiding the attacker, the attacker refused, and was then spied by Kashmir. Not 100% on this, but I think that's close. I wish there was a bluster filter on this thing, but it would probably kill the OWF. Nice to see Randalla active again, though.
  4. Very sad to hear. RIP Keelah.
  5. Well this was supposed to be more or less a timeline of the protectorate involvement, not a blow by blow of the entire war.
  6. I knew there was SOMETHING going on there, couldn't remember what -- it was that Caparo group, no? DOH! I KNEW this, too! I am a BAD poster. The terms were strict as I recall, and yes, despite the NG OP there is a bit of of... I think distancing is unfair, but "failure to embrace" seems accurate. Not by Hartfw or Auctor, who have defended Meth's right to defend himself.
  7. Fellas, fellas, FELLAS! There IS a timeline out there for the curious. Apparently, it goes like this: 1. Jack Layton attacks LN, I *think* from some other AA. I was not...er -- in a position to see this transpire, but it seems reasonable and I don't doubt it. 2. Methrage eschews diplomacy and declares on Kashmir.  LN is NOT a protectorate of NG last I checked. 3. COBRA, a Kush protectorate, joins in the battle of their own freewill -- declaring on LN. 4. Confederatio Aesir, a Non Grata protectorate, joins in the battle of their own freewill -- declares on Kashmir. 5. Duderonomy sends his thesis to an editor, who is impressed by the groundbreaking theories on Lulzism within. 6. Non Grata enters against Kashmir, The stated reasons are: 1) messing with their OD partner (assumed to be Seven Days in the Son or the German equivalent) 2) Messing with our protectorate (presumably CA, although they jumped in like COBRA did of their own freewill). 7. A bunch of other people DoW, including Last Call in defense of Kashmir. 8. Hartfw continues to wear his "Former Argent Minister" sig instead of the new, badass "Cowboys" sig, which someone worked SO hard on, despite the fact that the lack of its presence can ONLY be seen as hurtful and triggering. 9. DMFA, a protectorate of Kashmir, attacked by Non Grata. 10. Duderonomy's thesis approved -- Bob never the same.
  8. Wait-- are you baiting me? I feel like you're demanding I come up with a tenuous RL parallel -- I want to say "The Treaty of Angkor Wat", but I feel that would be rushed, and if given time to think I could come up with something even more tenuous. Curse you, 24 hour media cycle!
  9. Excellent use of the quote function, Meth. 9 months too late to help me, but better late than never I guess. A case-strengthener at any rate, and a sign of someone who believes they have fact, and not simply opinion, on their side.
  10. On Facebook we list our relationship as "It's Complicated".
  11. Pretty sure this guy has a quote somewhere in his canon that relates to this. Out of curiosity, who doesn't get dealt with lightly, the candidate or the people who vote for him?
  12. Well, I'm fighting for them, so kind of heavily tied. Also, 3 infra doesn't allow much of a splash -- I "blitzed" Fark, and they didn't notice. Also, I am not a Libertarian (although I appreciate many of the concepts), and we're technically at war, I suppose, so keep the hatchet handy for a bit yet. Other than those things, here's to us!
  13. And there it is. Your rigidity in your belief that your perspective is reality is duly noted, but the purpose of this thread is NOT to rehash the Dre4m War or your feud with Junka. It is clearly to compare my return to the second coming of Christ. Let us all confine our comments to those of a similar nature.
  14. Oh, you misjudge me then -- glad you responded. I have definitely met the man. I have dealt with Meth on friendly terms, I have read his posts on the OWF as a neutral observer, I have been his enemy, I have dealt with him in diplomacy, I have chatted with him on IRC and in multiple private messages. Far from selling out, I find Meterage to be absolutely the most consistent leader on Planet Bob. I have not found any "back room Meth" -- in my experience, what you see in his OWF posts as his public face is also his private face. The tone, tenor, and content never deviates from the baseline by much. I sincerely believe that Meth is the Meth I believe him to be to his core -- I have yet to see a break in his character, which can be good and bad. Good because you are always dealing with a known quantity, bad because that quantity can sometimes present with a... lack of self-reflection not evident in, say, a Schatt (who is also quite consistent, but in a much different way). Although I ended up Meth's enemy, I can promise you I never set out to do so, and worked hard to not be -- I found Meth's consistency difficult to overcome in negotiations. If you felt I was slinging mud by referring to his politics as "faux Libertarianism", I will stand by that as a valid opinion. Unless he has somehow redefined the term, Libertarianism is generally defined as a political philosophy that seeks to maximize autonomy and freedom of choice, emphasizing personal political freedom, voluntary association, and the primacy of individual judgment. When I look at the LPCN, I see little of this. It is required that you vote for certain candidates. If you choose to leave the fold (as did COBRA), you are branded a traitor and threatened with PZI, viceroys, and disbandment. The entire LPCN seems to be a vehicle to promote what Meth desires, not what the individuals within it desire. Full disclosure, SRA (the 2M NS version, not the current incarnation) was the same way. I was essentially a monarch, and I'm not saying that's bad. I did not label the alliance a democracy, however. The alliances associated with the LPCN also do not seem to be terribly Libertarian in their ideals. Monsters, Inc. makes a habit of attacking alliances who want to be left alone to pursue their own freedoms (The Stoic Movement, SWF, etc), and once attacked and tried to extort tech from TSO over a failed merger. aNiMaLz, like Minc, has made a career out of violating the sovereignty of others that Meth states he values so highly. All of which is fine, unless done under the banner of "liberty and freedom for all," in which case I'm not buying it. Meth clearly does, or is willing to overlook the contradictions. Regardless, he has certainly garnered himself both a senate seat and the support of Oculus by following his chosen path. It would be disingenuous of me to suggest that success has eluded his particular brand of consistency. I will also submit, self-reflectively, that I took your response about 1 man AA's to be a sarcastic swipe, and merely meant to indicate that your bloc found itself supporting an alliance not much larger. I apparently misjudged your comment, and hereby retract the smarm.
  15. Sometimes the tiniest of acorns fall from the mightiest of oaks. When I start feeling bad about only having one member, I think about how if I got just three more members and espoused faux libertarian values, I could garner the support of the most powerful bloc on Bob. Just gotta figure out how to express those values in the most reasonable, clear-headed manner possible to make it happen.
  16. Now THERE is a tenuous analogy to a historical event LOL. Good to be back WS!
  17. In all seriousness, you make an EXCELLENT point.
  18. I can't lie, I wasn't sure who I was rooting for in this thread. You played it about as right as it could be played, though.
  19. I equate that comment to what the Duke of Wellington said to the third Earl of Shropshire at his son's Bar Mitzvah just before the The Battle of St. Swiven's Bridge.
