Nobody flying the TPC flag declared war on any of your nations. Therm did not even accept somebody with a pre-existing active war on your nations. If you'd come to government with your concerns, we would have been happy to address them. Or if you'd waited until I logged in for update, when I would have seen who'd just been added to our alliance list, I would have handled this matter myself (since I'd seen the thinly veiled threats being exchanged on here, and wanted no part in the bullshit).

I'd say it looks fair... ...ly uneven.

... Right. Because there is no possible way that we could have been waiting so that we could launch a coordinated attack with as many people as possible.

Thus far, my opponents have launched their 4 CMs and 2 DEFCON ops with great bravery and honour. I am now waiting to see if they will bravely and honourably advance in another direction.

Unfortunately, we have discovered several cases of witness tampering. We are conducting a thorough investigation*. * Remember, it's not police brutality if they're resisting arrest.

With a little more preparation, we probably could have organized a proper March Madness tourney to test this...

In the previous two SE wars, my SDI has blocked 139 nukes and let 64 through, for a success percentage of 68.5%. We can quibble over possible streakiness, but the actual percentage seems fairly close to the right number. (99 blocked and 52 eaten in the last war, 40 blocked and 12 eaten in the war before that)

So as an aside, am I the only one who keeps reading the topic on this thread as "Demon of death row"? I feel cheated that this thread isn't about a death metal band or something.

Is there some sort of standard form I need to fill out before Doom Squad will optionally roll me? I had to dig pretty deep to find a Non Grata nation to hit last night, and I still have all three defensive slots open.

I also voted 60 days and immediately, but would be happy with a (pre-announced) small number of days. I also agree with the longer initial peace mode. Give the newbies a few days to find their feet and get in with an alliance. Maybe you could repurpose the SE code to start everyone in peace mode, exactly as in SE, and give them the option to leave (but no way to return)? The increasingly crippling peace mode penalties should prevent people from using it to flagrun.

Can somebody remind me which side I'm on again? All these nonspecific third-person pronouns are confusing, and leave me with a new-found appreciation for those who specify. And yeah, I think I've been over 1500 infra for cumulatively about 2 hours of the round, and yet I'm still #8. Obviously, the solution is to sit around with no GCs, no soldiers, and DEFCON 5. This will lure them into DOWing you, but because they're terrible, they won't get the anarchy. You can then turn around and DOW three more people, thereby filling all your slots.

If I send you more aid, will you destroy my NS? I'm about to declare offensive wars #22-24 for the current conflict, and have yet to see a single defensive war. :(

I think we could have a significant philosophical discussion here. After all, if somebody declares a war and fails, then by definition, can it be called a downdeclare? Statistics and war history aside, obviously they didn't declare on somebody weaker than them. tl;dr: lol failblitz

This is TE. If you have to ask whether you're part of a war, the answer is "yes".

I see wars* declared on TPC and OP. That seems like an unambiguous foreign policy statement to me. * I use the plural because their blitz consists of two wars, one on each alliance. Sigh.

Yeah, I'm kind of liking the idea of the same old grudges every 30 days instead of every 90 days.

The war will end when Steve Buscemi apologizes or when I buy a WRC. Sadly, I'm now down to 1000 tech and Steve Buscemi is still an ass, so I guess our pixels will just have to keep dying en masse.
