  1. Congrats to my friends in the Grämlins for doing something new, getting some back collection cash and world-class training to the little guys, setting up some tech sources, and hopefully growing the Grämlins in the process. Having helped managed Grämlins funded back-collections during my time in MHA, I can tell you that they are incredibly useful ways for new nations to grow, and the Grämlins are great teachers. Good to see you guys branching out, and best of luck.
  2. Kowalski. Award for funniest alumni thread. Well, other than the unintentionally funny ones.

    Ex-MHA

Floyd checking in with all the other hoopy froods. Served as Minister of Towels, MHA Triumvir and posthumously received the MHA Triumvir Award for services rendered to alliance, though I think that last one might just be the result of that drunken night with WCR. I'll always be a Hitchhiker and Härmlin at heart.
  4. Enjoyed our time on Q boards together, and chatting on IRC from time to time. Best of luck to you in RL, sad to see you go.
  5. I got my start in NADC, recruited by Stonewall Jaxon (well, his previous incarnation). Was there right after the NADC-BLEU war and things were a mess. Nice people, though, and still have a soft spot for it.
  6. What a great group there was in ACV, best protectorate MHA ever had and a great MDoAP partner after that. Honor and loyalty like no other. Saw KMac over at IPA, hope he stops in . . . iClean.
  7. Holy mother of God. I kept telling MHA to treaty with you folk . . . Good reminder to people that the Continuum is still one freaking scary bloc. Congratulations to FinsterBaby, the IRON Council, and all my friends in IRON. So where is this party, and who do I have to sleep with to get an invite?
  8. Kevin, you've been a good friend and I wish you all the best. ACV's honor and friendship was a source of pride for MHA. May you all have soft landings and remember ACV with deserved pride.
  9. I would like to offer my humble thanks to my friends in MHA. I'm truly touched by the honor, which I will cherish. Even so, I confess I'm even more excited about the great new policies, and the kindness you have shown with them and with your pardons. In those actions you've shown what makes MHA special, and what makes you such good people -- you care about the other nations/rulers in this silly game, you always take the high road and act with class, you have some fun, and yet . . . you aren't totally harmless. MHAil to my hoopy brethren!
  10. I'm selling a donation for April, asking price is 600 tech. Buyer will need to arrange for and guarantee tech sources. PM with interest.
  11. Make that 2, aid sent.
  12. Keep up the good work, Stumpy. These forums need a routine summary of what has happened for those of us too lazy to wade through all the muck. And the cards were hilarious. I hope we see regular, continued editions.
  13. Congratulations to my good friends in Argent and Grämlins. Two great alliances filled with some of the best people in CN.
  14. Thank God a Grämlin said it first. Brings to mind the infamous Super Bowl Shuffle from the old Chicago Bears. But damn, look at that avg. NS. In all seriousness, congrats to a truly great alliance and great friends.
  15. I asked my grandfather why he never spoke much, and he said "The shortest answer is doing." He was a smart guy, and the best friend I think anyone could have. You are what you do. Not what you say, what you write, what you think. One's worth is measured by the content of character, and that can only be shown and not discussed. Enemies, and more often the indifferent, say friendly things. "He's a nice guy," is easy to say after a quick IRC conversation with someone, but will those words match their choices? A friend's does. But merely doing isn't enough. True friendship is shown by selfless action. True friendship can be inconvenient, and true friendship can only be proven by constancy through hardship. Friendship doesn't care about self-interest. Who in CN would we consider good friends by this definition? GRE and OBR come to mind. STA and MK do too. Lots of others. More than one would think given the routine complaints about the state of CN. There are many loyal alliances and even more loyal players in the game. It's the only thing that keeps me here.
  16. Not only admin knows what . . . I for one, am shocked that this message was not authorized from the highest levels of NATO high command. The punctuation, the subtlety, the clear grasp of CN politics -- it had all the hallmarks of our years friendship. Thank Admin we learned by private channels of this brilliant subterfuge, or we may well have destroyed Q over this.
  17. This level of maturity in dealing with conflict is inspiring. All of this gives us an insight in OBR that we don't get to see too often with their general neutrality. And it shows their quality that the view inside isn't bad, despite the revelations in this thread and the other.

What Choader said. For me the really interesting question is how the global stockpile of nukes combines with the huge warchests so many of the larger nations have been amassing since the last big war. Nukes + lots of cash = potential for a long and deadly confrontation.
  19. What makes me happier than the standings is an almost 1 million NS gain for MHA this past month: As MXCA gets its forums back to full speed and starts taking in all that TSO aid, it will also undoubtedly pressure the heck out of us. It should be a good battle for #4 going forward!
  20. I'm just waiting to see whether DK or BR invokes their MDoAP with MHA first. We stand ready. Also, would it be wrong to bet tech against one side, then send aid to the other? Keep up the commentary, DK and Brian, I lolled at "I think my planes falling on his soldiers softened them up."
  21. Congratulations to our friends in Invicta. It's a good thing to shake things up a bit just to keep things fresh, and we wish you all the best with the Spring cleaning.
