  1. Ok, I confess, I also have a log to dump. I bolded the relevant parts for all of you that are too lazy to actually read it.
  2. Excuse me if I didn't go beyond the first page: I don't have all this time. Now I'm confused if we're brainwashed by the NPO or we hate them... Is all of this press attention a sekrit plan to have us Hitchhikers go nuts?...
  3. Hey Schattenmann, I should be angry with you for having spied on the MHA forums, and in fact I am. But I also yet have to notice that discussion and I guess I may thank you for having brought the topic to my attention, and also for the interesting conclusions I may draw, by confronting what you blackened with the original post (when I will find it, of course: I can't yet confirm that this is true). So, we're now enemies but I have to somehow thank you anyway... "Ask to not do something" =/= "hold an ally's neck" It has a one year cancellation clause, actually (not that there's any practical difference, anyway). You're mixing it with The Härmlin Accords, maybe? This is the standard procedure, in the MHA: every possible treaty is openly discussed. I will imagine you're spy is a bit new of the Alliance?...
  4. Everybody attacks only much weaker Nations, often with the help of one or two friends. The defender often doesn't have any other chance than turtling. Why should s/he fight and lose more of his/her Nation? Especially because there's no Aid in TE, and being destroyed with no cash left means being out of any significant competition. The rationale behind your suggestion, as I understand it, is that the attackers should always be sure that the war will be profitable, thus eliminating all the uncertainty and the risk of it. Why would you want to make the game completely predictable and boring? War is a risk. If you don't want to be stuck 7 days in a "useless" war, choose your targets carefully (e.g. look at their attacking casualties, ensure they can think they have a chance, etc.) Don't come here with a suggestion only because you don't want to pay for your mistakes/unluck/etc.
  5. I agree with you, broomdr. Systematic 3vs1 beatings are no fun, especially when there's no practical chance for the surrounded and destroyed to rebuild and to be competitive again, without Foreign Aid. Too many Nations are reduced to that, without having individual responsibility for what happened. SE-style political crap made its way into TE, completely defeating the "be intelligent and competitive" purpose (it's rather "build up sheer numbers and prey"). The removal of the Alliance Affiliation feature could IMHO help us in getting rid of this crap. Sure, Alliances would still be possible, but judging another Alliance's military power would be much more difficult, making it much harder to start an Alliance/Coalition war with the certainty of having already won it. At least, I for one will stay away from TE as long as the Alliance Affiliation is not removed from it.
  6. Tygaism is a good "philosophy" that every Nation should consider following. Gaela will experiment with it for a while, and we will then take a decision about it.
  7. I believe you're wrong, there are precedents. E.g.: some time before the BLEU-Coalition war we (MHA) canceled our treaty with the NpO, together with several other old treaties with Alliances we hadn't strong bond with any more. Some time later the war broke out, but that was purely coincidental (in regard to our moves). Now, you can not believe me, of course, and that's perfectly acceptable. More on topic, "congrats" to FOK for their fair announcement; it doesn't change anything, but I guess that it's just FOK nature to be fuzzy...
  8. I concur with Stock Market, simply beacuse it's the only Gaelan Wonder that already got a name (Stella Stock Market, for the record). Not considering personal sentiments, the best Gaelan Wonder is the Strategic Defense Initiative: the additional protection of Gaelan lives it adds is unvaluable. Considering all the possible Wonders I'd love to get a Weapons Research Complex, one day. Gaela is still several hundreds of millions short of money, anyway...
  9. Certainly you may ask a question without having the nefarious intent of embarrassing the relevant parties or otherwise causing mischief. Actually, you often do so. This time, anyway, you were quite evidently trying to imply that IRON's change of leadership is irrelevant. Although it's perfectly acceptable and expected that you try to embarass them - as you're at war against them - this doesn't mean that most people can't see that you're asking a not neutral and not amicable question. By the way, Heft said that "[FinsterBaby] will be making his own personal address in the coming days." You probably will then see what changes with this leadership change.
  10. FinsterBaby will have to struggle to be as a good President as Heft was. I am confident that he can do it... Good luck!
  11. Thanks for existing, Francesca. Too bad that I am already married!
  12. On a partially unrelated note, those people that picked fights were isolated and destroyed by the ones that were instead building their power in "backrooms". Planet Avril isn't a world of war, but of politics. You already knew it, anyway.
  13. Evidently, those that are attacking the victors today "forgot" to remind them of the GPA in some earlier moment... Jokes aside, I believe that the OP, with «largely due to most of us forgetting about it», intended to mean something along the lines: "nobody really cared about that for a long time because there wasn't any problem on either side, and now some circumstances had us reconsider that last Term, thus realizing that it has long been unneeded". The new UJA may have something to do with this being "rectified". Of course, I may be wrong. I however seriously doubt that the victor coalition (that was able to notice that Lord Swampy had been masked for less than 24 hours as "GPA applicant" at the GPA headquarters) actually "forgot" about this term. Let's be serious, OK?...
  14. Appropriate reply! ____________________ [ooc] (Another one hits the ignore list...) ____________________ Of course, ES greatly contributed to make CN as it is now. Thus, everybody should definitely make angry jokes about his chances to have a girl and that's entirely related with the game! Meh. [/ooc]
  15. Congratulations GPA! G.P.A. the best reason to love green Certainly it was reasonable and "standard" to issue terms that included nuclear weapons limitations. But it also must be acknowledged that the GPA never gave any reason to think that they would have abused their nuclear firepower. Just another outstanding trait of the greenish hippies!
  16. I don't quite understand this argument at Alliance scale. If all the Nations on the weaker side are triple-teamed and facing (practically) "infinite" nukes, this means that their side is much weaker. What's wrong in them being able to inflict less damage? That's what should happen. On the other hand, the SDI can be IMHO improved, making its effectiveness depend by the Tech difference/ratio between the contenders. A 2k Nation Tech should have an horribly hard time in delivering a single nuke on a 5k Tech Nation, while the reverse nuking should be much more likely to happen than 40% per nuke. This is maybe another discussion, however.
  17. You're correct that «the laptop would be using the same internet connection as the now dead PC», but they wouldn't been using the same IP. He said that he plays from work, while his wife plays from home: As long as she doesn't log in from the same locations (IPs) he logged from when traveling, and she doesn't log in from his workplace, and he doesn't log in from their home (and regardless of her using the same laptop he uses/d, or some other computer, or anything), they will be fine. What counts is the location we log in from, not the computer we use to do it. I hope this helps.
  18. This is the Nation link to your Nation: click here This is the code of it (copy and modify it to write meaningful links on these forums): [url=http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=285782]click here[/url] As you're new, you're probably unaware that you MUST have a Forum name that matches either your Nation or Ruler name (in your case, "Ardaliae" or "Felicite Guelph", respectively). Your current name ("saiyuki") isn't "legal" here. You need to make a post in the Report Forum Abuse forum. Create a new thread, name it something like "Name Change Request", and write this in it: Note that you can do this only once: if you choose your Ruler name you probably won't be allowed to later have it changed in your Nation name, and vice-versa. You need to post that As Soon As Possible: you are currently risking being banned for "not matching Forum Name"! Click on this button to go there and create your topic: In case you're banned before you post that, note that you can appeal your Ban and ask for your name to be changed to Nation or Ruler name, but you will need to do it in the Warn & Ban Appeals forum (instead of the first one: don't use that button in that case). I hope all of this helps (and isn't confusing instead... )
  19. No other equally adequate history of CN was ever written, anyway. Thanks for this excellent material, bros!
  20. I think that an "emergency Nation sitting" is what you'd need: I don't know if it's possible, but it's probably worth a try. I suggest that you send a PM to any of/all the Game Mods (The Mod, Top Cat, Callahan, Severus Snape, Philotheos, EvenStar). Callahan, Snape and Philotheos are the ones that have been most active on the forums in recent times, and at least one will likely log in within 12/24 hours from now (there's no guarantee though). You of course need that your friend gives you the password for his Nation, as the Mods won't give it to you. By the way, you can find the list of all Admins and Mods in any moment here: Admins and Moderators - who to PM for what list (pinned thread in Moderation Forum). Note that the Game Staff is composed by Justitia (Senior Game Admin), and Vivi (Senior Game Mod) also, but they probably shouldn't be involved for day-to-day management (you can consider them "your last chance"). Good luck with this!
  21. This is correct. PMs sent by Nations that are then deleted continue to exist in the receiver's inbox. About the initial question, as already said, there are not PMs because the Nation is deleted. The suggested change to send PMs to Trade Partners before deleting a Nation, by the way, wouldn't solve the issue (you don't see the Partner's Resources in their PMs). It would be needed that "Trade Deletion" PMs also automatically included that piece of info. I might add that knowing which Resources you're Trading should be very basic knowledge if you want to have a minimal chance to run your Nation with decent results...
  22. Berbers are not part of the "Arab ethnic group" but are a separate group[1][2][3][4] themselves. Arab-Berbers as "Berbers sub-division of the Arabs" are like Spanish-Italian as "Italian sub-division of the Spanish": imaginary and imaginative, but non-existent. The Berbers inhabit the North of Africa, especially Algeria[5] and Morocco[6], but also Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and other African countries. They have nothing to do with Arabia (that's in a different continent). Ethnolinguistic groups in Morocco. (Wikipedia) Berbers history is entangled with Arabs', but they anyway have their own distinct languages, culture and genetic heritage. In linguistics Berber[7][8] is a family in itself as opposed to Semitic (that includes Arab). I don't think that Berbers could be considered equal to Arabs in any shape or form, and they're not "Arab-Berbers". Notes: [1] Berbers according to the Encyclopædia Britannica. (Sorry for posting after five days, but I felt that the issue wasn't solved properly and I hope this is interesting enough to warrant it)
  23. You need to go here: link. Be careful to post Foreign Aid Requests only there, or you may get warned. I anyway think that that is a very ineffective way of obtaining cash. You can instead follow thedestro's suggestion, and/or start some Tech Deal (link).
  24. He needs to register and play from another IP (e.g. the library/school, a friend's house, a second home connection). Bear in mind that he will have to NEVER log in from your same IP. Or you can both use the same Nation (like it had two Rulers). AFAIK there's no rule against multiple people playing with the same Nation (I may be wrong on this, but I also don't see why anybody should care of it - or how they could check it, for that matter...)
