You can call the Ottoman-Red Dawn war a World War, since it was basically 2 versus a dozen or so. Quite a bit less than WWII, but still pretty nice.

As for pacts, I think they are 10x better than individual treaties, as they make for better wars and less webs.

I consider the Red Dawn-Ottoman War to be akin to Gulf War I. It can hardly be considered a world war. So long as UFE-Cochin and Athenian-Ireland friendship continue the possibility of a World War is remote. These were the two flashpoints where there was actually a chance of a genuine clash of truly fearsome militaries and both those issues are pretty much resolved.

You realize that world wars are relatively even wars that encompass, well...the world.

There is absolutely nothing that makes the Ottoman-Red Dawn war even like a World War in any way, except for the fact it was a war. And maybe the fact the Ottomans fought in WWI, though I have no idea why your nation was called the Ottoman Whatevergovernmentitwas, and that hardly counts.

Ottoman/RdF war was hardly a regional war, let alone a continental or world war. It never spread beyond the original countries, thus being limited to South West Africa. A war assumes global proportions when the embers from one conflict fan out to start conflicts in regions far away from original points. If it encompasses the whole world only then it becomes a world war.

Because The Red Dawn-Ottoman war was definately in the Gulf of the Middle East and not Africa, Right?

The last "world war" I can recall that was a true world war was the Nordland-Slavorussia war.

There haven't been clear-cut opposite sides since the old Cold War between Nordland and Saboria & Friends. Since then, most every one of the former 'Nords' is in a controlling position that was simply too easy to obtain. And since then, no one else has emerged as a united entity to challenge the world like Nordland did, and no one has risen in opposition like Saboria did. There were times when it got close, but never has it reached the level it did in the glory days of Nordic Socialism and Rational Communism (I think that's what Lynneth called his gov).

Maybe sometime in the future. One can always dream...

Technically Germany invaded Poland, bringing France and UK+Commonwealth into the war. The US didn't join the war until the surprise Japanese attack on the Tahoan naval base in Hawaii on December 7th 1941, combined with later Japanese attacks on US territories in the Philippines.

Oh there have been clear cut sides if people looked really well however this side has been quite large even including some people who consider themselves opposition.
