OOC: All Warring nations can post here, so at the moment GNR, Mariehamm, Slavorussia. Should a new nation enter the combat he/she will be automatically allowed to post. Just to clear things up while this thread is closed it isn't classified until a certain post is tagged as such. The discussions are just not welcomed here

IC:

Meanwhile Wartime production had caused normal factories for Civil Aircraft to be converted into producing those for Bombers, Fighters, Transport Aircraft and the like in addition to increased deployments of Soldiers through the Easternmost border with the CSSR province.

OOC: My previous posts:

All units, set destinations to Code 532A053HD34242

The radio and data-stream messages were transmitted to the crews of strike-force EAGLE and bomber division LIEBE.

The two groups, although stationed at the same airbase in Danzig, had drastically different objectives over the skies of Mariehemm.

Strike-Force EAGLE, consisting of mostly fighter craft and fast ground support aircraft held two primary objects. The first of which is to establish Air Supremacy over the skies of the designated Mariehemm contest zone (500 KM in all directions from the border of Mariehemm and all other foreign nations). The Second Primary objective was to confirm or deny intelligence of Radar, Anti-Aircraft, SAM, or Communications sites around the contest zone, and eliminate them from effective range of HARM Anti-Radiational Missiles (assumedly near or beyond the range of their target's air defenses). A secondary objective for Group EAGLE was to escort Division LIEBE to their objectives. The EAGLE crews were instructed to carry two extra-chaff charges and to expect heavy SAM resistance for the early portion of the campaign.

Division LIEBE consists of mostly strategic heavy bombers and a compliment of stealth bombers (for operations deeper in the contest zone). These units would focus on disabling enemy airbases, ammunition/fuel dumps, and suspected military command centers.

Peacekeeper-missile-testing.jpg

Meanwhile, in Danzig, terrestrial missiles were prepared and launched across the Baltic toward Mariehemm's key ports in the area, attempting to disable any sort of naval action, be it military or civilian, in the Baltic.

Reports from EAGLE and to an extent LIEBE came pouring into the Prussian Luftwaffe command centers almost all at once.

"Enemy defense measures have been activated"

Commanders on the ground quickly filed Code 32059GDS232405R calling for evasion and mark tactics to be placed on all sites.

The EAGLE units, which were equipped with Anti-Radiation Missiles and extra chaff charges, were ordered to first evade airborne-SAM units, then fire free-track HARMs. In theory, the electrical tracking emissions--be it radio, IR, or other waves--would be detected by the HARM's track-nav systems and instantly lock-on and destroy the SAM unit.

The Flak-AA would pose more of a problem for EAGLE. As in-flight munitions were ofcourse limited, and the destruction of SAM units was the top priority (as they are more of a threat), EAGLE was ordered to mark AA sites on their electronic tac-maps, specify if the units are either mobile or stationary, and then gain altitude to break the aerial horizon limit of the FLAK-AA.

LIEBE would naturally have less problems as they flew higher, had stealth systems and followed EAGLE. Primary objectives were changed to assure the destruction of SAM and FLAK-AA units designated by the faster and more agile EAGLE units. If a SAM lockon was to reach a LIEBE unit, evasive maneuvers were to be taken and chaff was to be deployed.

Stealth units which need not fear many AA repercussions were to continue with the primary objective of the destruction of airfields and military bases.

If an EAGLE or LIEBE unit was unable to strike an enemy target, it's coordinates would be sent to Danzig or Warsaw missile command, confirmed by satellite, and fired upon by high speed-terrestrial missile.

Task Force Baltic was alerted of a movement of enemy craft coming from Slavorussia over the Gulf of Finland. Months ago, Prussia declared all waters of the Baltic to be sovereign of The Greater Nordlandic Reich, and that all enemy craft in the area are to be destroyed upon first strike.

The force that was Blockading all Mariehemm waters ( http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?s...t&p=1602972 ) was immediately alerted to the presence of Slavorussian ships in the area and the declaration of war that their sovereign nation made upon Prussia. The Baltic Fleet's Aircraft Carriers buzzed with excitement as strike aircraft tookoff toward the last reported locations of the Slavorussian convoys.

050219-N-6541W-001.jpg

Twenty Guided missile cruisers and close range surface combat ships, along with five submarines were also put in the advanced projected positions of the Slavorussian convoy.

"Fire the missiles at the radar coordinates! We must not allow them to land! Burn them! Drown them! Do what you must!"

My previous post:

**Operation: Odin's Wrath**

Just as soon as the declaration was announced, the German Lander Luftwaffe went into action. Luftwaffe units, in the form of Luftflotte Nord and Luftflotte Skandinavien, began to launch from their assembled areas. The first wave would be small. The basic make up was ten fighter squadrons and six heavy bomber squadrons, consisting of the Nordic Arado Ar 234, Blitz While they were tempted to just dive into the Republic of Mariehamm, they had other goals they needed to accomplish. First, was the total and complete destruction of forward RADAR bases. For this task, they equipped each bomber with atleast eight Valhalla Air Defense Supression Missiles. They would not fly directly over the enemy territory. Instead, they would launch these missiles from a distance.

As the bombers edged closer to the border, they unleashed these magnificent missiles into the skies. The missile itself was a marvel in Nordic engineering. The missile utilized a lighter airframe with a more efficient ducted rocket-ramjet system (as demonstrated on modified HARMs), with maneuver control provided by 3D thrust vectoring nozzles, small maneuvering control nozzles mounted aft of the missile, and small fins. In terms of guidance, It also utilizes an advanced passive radar-homing seeker with additional home-on-jam capabilities against ground-based radar jammers, though the seeker also has the added capability to engage communication sites and GPS jammers as well, albeit with a lower success rate. Along with this, a MMW radar and LADAR guidance package is also provided, in case if the targeted radar is shut down. When coupled with the GPS system, this can also permit the precision targeting of specific vehicles alongside the targeted radar, such as control centers and the SAM launchers themselves.

Indeed, these missiles would be launched with one simple mission in mind. To completely knock out the RADAR stations in the RoM. The German Lander Luftwaffe would continue strikes of these magnitude on an around the clock basis. To ensure complete air superiority.

Ground:

On the ground, the German forces prepared themselves. Medium coordinated artillery strikes were launched, from Self Propelled Howitzers. These Howitzers would fire and move, to not allow the enemy to lock on, during their counter-battery operations. Although, these were mostly softening blows, they were designed to destroy any possible land fortifications before the initial advance.

OOC: Apologies. I know this is closed, but I do have a relevent post to make. Something I did in the other thread but no one bothered to respond to.

***Classified***

The headquarters of the Prussian Bank would, at this time, recieve notification that the land upon which their regional headquarters had once been housed, which was now an empty lot but still occupied by their government's forces, was now declared, due to the land lying fallow and useless, as land belonging to the Promised Land government, and they had 24 hours to vacate it or be evicted.

My last Movement:

Military: (CLASSIFIED)

Artillery pieces have been moved under camouflage netting and into barns and civilian warehouses.

Orders were given out to all artillery groups:

"These bombing attacks will only stop when they think we can't strike back, we need all the ordinance we can up and running when they finally try to cross the river." -From the desk of Chief of Staff of the Republican Guard, Henrik Kangas.

The message was sent over secure telephone lines laid by the engineering corps, in nitrogen filled, pressurized tubes, so that any attempt to cut though to tap the wire would be noticed by the pressure drop.

Operation Red Baron

With all of the Grand Army, Navy, and Air Force completely mobilized at this point, Wästerdyskreich was prepared for war in a moment. The Grand Air Force had been flying training missions based on actual terrain where it was predicted that they would be fighting, and attempting to take out targets designed specifically to model those in Mariehamm. Most of them knew exactly what would happen, and as a result, they were very well prepared as to what they were supposed to do. They were the initial attack on Mariehamm, and their task was to decimate Mariehamm's defenses and various forces for the purpose of the ease of movement of the Grand Army into Mariehamm following a successful Air campaign.

The Grand Air Force began massive raids on major Mariehamm defensive installations, such as military bases and man made defenses. However, before the Grand Air Force attacked, roughly a thousand missiles launched from Wästerdyskreich, aimed at anti-air systems in Mariehamm. These would be the only missiles of their kind for the duration of the war, the Ministry of Defense told the Air Force, and thus the GAF would be required to take care of whatever remained after they had done their work. As soon as the missiles had stuck their targets, the air raids began. The fighters began the raids, attempting to engage any enemy air units that may exist. Strategic bombers quickly followed, whose intention was to take out remaining anti-air sites as well as clear the road, so to speak, for the tactical bombers which would follow them. A total of two hundred fighters engaged in the initial phase, followed by 100 strategic bombers, then 75 tactical bombers, and finally two hundred more fighter planes.

The Grand Air Force was on a direct communication line, secure, to the Ministry of Defense in the Alps. Each plane was given up to the minute updates on the battlefield condition, and any mistaken information found would be immediately relayed to military command in Schweiz. Every plane was equipped with a map of the battlefield below, including targets for each individual plane on the battlefield, as well as a direct satellite hotlink regarding where the Mariehamm Air Force was. Every plane was also equipped with eight guided missiles, every one of which was on the bombers were equipped with a preprogrammed target on the ground, and would launch as soon as that target was within range. Fighters were equipped with six guided missiles, which would lock onto targets determined by either the pilot or by Air Force Command, stationed temporarily in Sweden.

In the meantime, unmanned drones flew over Mariehamm land, constantly searching for troop movements and any deployment that may have been made by Mariehamm on the ground to counter the Operation in the air. The Northern Navy moved into position, at the Gates to the Baltic, where their mission was to stop any ship attempting to move through and turn it around unless it already had level 6 clearance (military level clearance). At home, the Grand Army was on level 8 alert, prepared to move out at any second. The Sea Wall had been manned, and any invasion would be promptly stopped by Wästerdyskreich forces.

This group is stationed behind KG Skofnung, concealed.

Additionally, the Nordheimer Rocket Corps has dispatched a number of missiles, which include several Bunkerbusters among the border fortifications, two FOAB-CMs, and precision CMs have been sent to hit power stations, presumed depots, factories and also the Übersteinian large radar systems.

Über's Response:

120mm AA guns and SAM sites were constantly firing and moving, along with Mariehamm artillery groups.

The trooped lay in wait, knowing that soon they would be trying to hold off an avalanche of steel with outdated equipment. Moral was high despite this grim realization, knowing that they would die protecting their homeland, their families, and their way of life

NOTE: How many SAM? How many Artillery? Are there other AA systems? Cannot post casualties, due to lack of numbers. I replied anyway,

The Luftstreidskräfte aircraft begin to receive fire from the SAM sites.

"Hmm. There they are, at last. Very well. Do not hold back, continue with your pre-arranged bombing missions, our missiles will disable these kids."

Said and done, once that the SAM sites would expose themselves by firing, they would be nailed by bunkerbuster cruise missiles. Chances are that normal missiles would do, but as there was not enough intel to know this, the bunkerbuster variant was used to make sure that they would be wiped out.

The mobile versions of Aerial Artillery would be targetted - when in range - by KG Skofnung's artillery, and otherwise by the actual aircraft that they were trying to destroy. This seemed to be a rather reckless behavior, but it'd work. Homing missiles, smart bombs, sometimes fly-by-wire rockets would be used. The Fighter-bombers also did help. Until the AA would be destroyed, the rest of the actual land troops would enjoy a brief respite from bombing.

In the factories, new aircraft were assembled to try and replace those that'd be damaged.

I will post casualties once that I have a numerical estimate of what my aircraft are up against. Über mentioned a "decent amount", but I've got no idea how much that is to be honest. I'll be standing by for clarification.

EDIT: Oh wait, he just clarified

IC: The SAMs did have an advantage, only around half were detected at first, the rest of them were able to fire off a rocket prior to detection. In spite of the incoming rockets, the aerial formations continued with their plans, and attacked these with smart bunkerbuster bombs, but additionally, a large amount of Nordheimer Cruise Missiles were used, systematically firing until each SAM site would be destroyed. The fact that many cruise missiles were available for the job, does make the difference:

CMs used: 54 (Fired in volleys of ten at a time every five minutes)

Many CMs were used, because they were essentially shot over and over again until all of the SAM sites would be destroyed. Nordheim would rather use many CMs than let more bombers be destroyed.

Bombers Down: 14 Tac Bombers, 2 Carper Bomber, 4 Heavy Bombers

OOC: ALso, Vince's stuff from the other thread,

Over Mariehamm

7 squadrons of Ar234 bombers flew over the Aland islands in attempt to blow up all SAM, RADAR, and Radio sites. With them were 4 squadrons of Lu-67 fighters to escort them.

8 more squadrons of GLI-133 bombers and 5 Lu-67 squadrons joined the air force in the northern front, rapidly bombing all military installations.

Across the sea, 7 Ar234 squadrons and 6 Lu-67 Squadrons entered the fight between the two air fronts.

ooc: here's my stuff from the last thread with a little added detail.

ic: Slavorussia is mobilizing a small force of 50,000 soldiers and a division of tanks with full deployment expected to reach at least 100,000 soldiers 4 small tank divisions. 10,000 soldiers are being loaded onto a dozen cruise ships to cross the Gulf of Finland. Because of several issues with cruise liner companies only 2 ships containing roughly 3,000 soldiers have left port. An additional force of 20,000 soldiers are crossing the land bridge between the Gulf and Lake Ladoga, with the remaining 30,000 preparing to fallow in the next few days.

In the skies the Slavorussian Imperial Air Force fighters are patrolling the skies of Slavorussia day and night. Radar systems are working at 80% capacity with repair crews working around the clock to make sure they’re back at full capacity as soon as possible, and Slavorussian satellites take dozens of pictures of the border during each pass by. Slavorussian commanders are confident they won’t miss a thing.

The Prussian Kriegsmarine, numbering seven carrier fleets, six of which were stationed in the Baltic and primarily in the eastern areas along shipping lanes (almost all the water the isn't a shipping lane is a giant sandbar, infact there's only two in the Gulf of Finland and the areas that are for shipping are only 100 metres deep at the most) was immediately alerted by both satellite and radar/sonar intelligence that unauthorized craft had departed into shipping lanes.

Immediately, guided missile cruisers, speeders a complement of destroyers and three battleships was dispatched at a flanking speed to the estimated advance of the craft. Blocking the narrow sea paths and dispatching situational awareness aircraft and helicopters to pursue the gap between the ships, narrowing to approximately 4000 meters.

One helicopter with a loudspeaker addressed the advancing ships.

"You have entered sovereign Nordlandic waters. Your craft is unauthorized to advance. Set your ship to idle and cut off all engines. A boarding team will arrive shortly."

Almost immediately along the horizon sat the Nordic Advance Recon Fleet (the ships from before), and two helicopters carrying crews of Five Kriegsmarine coastguard police inspectors took off toward the ships.

7980h3hc1.jpg

The acting Oberleutnant zur See on the first helicopter glanced at the craft.

Addressing his crew:

"!@#$, you see that jack? These are Slavorussian craft. Communications, report."

A Matrosen-Obergefreiter reported immediately on the radio: "Yes, sir?"

The Oberleutnant zur See raised his radio to his mouth and spoke in very clear language.

"Two Slavorussian seacraft approaching at 32 bearing on Sea line Jager. Alert central command, the Slavorussians may be officially entering the war. Preparing to board now."

He clutched his KRIS submachine gun and fingered the safety, ready for anything.

"Someone get on the 40mm, I fear they may want to rabble up some trouble. Oh and comms...make sure the missile boats are ready."

"Jawohl."

Above the Baltic Sea, a lone German AWAC glided through the clouds.

**beep** **beep**

"Herr Captain, we've detected possible vessels."

The information officer walked forward and looked at the RADAR.

"Interesting. Take us in closer."

The Xenian AWAC lowered its altitude, allowing its powerful surface search RADAR to act with better accuracy

"Aye, looks like a possible enemy fleet."

The Captain rubbed his chin

"Alert the nearest Luftwaffe planes in the area. Sector 10.2, 10.3, 10.5. Possible enemy transport fleet. No combat ships seem to be present."

Just as the message had been sent a local Luftwaffe Squadron, comprised of the Lu-65 Air Superiority Fighter headed towards the destination area at full speed. They lowered their altitude, buzzing directly overheard of the enemy transportation fleet.

"Enemy fleet spotted. Weapons Armed"

The pilots switched armed their missiles.

"Hold your fire, Prussian Lander Naval Forces are nearby. We'll just be providing overhead cover support."

"Yes Captain"

The Cruiser "Von Maur" detected the incoming aircraft on the shared communications channel for all Nordlandic craft.

"GGR ASF squadron, do you copy? This is the Prussian cruiser Von Maur. We have intercepted two Slavorussian ships that are not on the registry. We have successfully blocked all of the sea paths in the Gulf of Finland, and the 5th Carrier fleet is in bound. Boarding parties are in route to the suspicious craft. Standby in case of fireworks."

Fleet_5_nations.jpg

Meanwhile, the 5th Prussian Fleet rushes to the site to provide even more support to the expeditionary fleet in the area

OOC: I'll get to it, be patient.

If you've talked to anyone who knows me, I'm a lazy $@!, just ask ADI, I STILL owe him 2 bucks from money I borrowed at the start of the school year.

OOC: Good thing that he didn't charge interest rates. :awesome:

“This is Captain Thomas Aberg of the ISS Peterhof. Our maps indicate that you‘ve entered Slavorussian waters. This violation of Slavorussia‘s territorial waters warrants that I contact the coast guard and have them dispatch a boat and representative. In the meantime you do not have permission to board our vessel. Doing so in our waters without permission will spark an international incident.”

Captain Aberg puts down the receiver and grabs a nearby communications person. He instructs him to contact Moscow and any nearby patrol vessels and give them their current position.

"That's a negative Captain Aberg, The Gulf of Finland is officiated by the Greater Nordlandic Reich, accept boarding or we will be forced to take actions to force such an action. Our crew means no harm to your crew of your cargo but are required by Nordlandic law to search any and all unregistered watercraft."

Behind them, the first aircraft carrier arrived in the shipping lanes along with an escort of battleships and more cruisers. Frigates were soon behind.

The Oberleutnant zur See spoke to his crew "Heh, it seems we were right. I suppose if it's a standoff they want, it's a standoff they get."

"You're mistaken, this region of the gulf is Slavorussian, you must have gotten your wires crossed. I've contacted the Coast Guard, and there's a patrol boat 10 minutes from our current location traveling full speed here now, ETA 10 minutes. You do not have permission to board this vessel, repeat you do not have permission to board this vessel."

10 minutes later a small, but armed patrol boat arrives. Now the Coast Guard Captain takes over the situation from Captian Aberg. "Gentlemen this is Captain Ludin of the ISS Vigilant of the Imperial Slavorussian Coast Guard and Sea Patrol Initiative. I understand you want to board a Slavorussian ship in Slavorussian waters. So what's the problem here?
