We have successfully tested a full scale railgun. With this success the FRG military is considering adding railguns to its navy and artillery. No decisions have been made yet and more tests are still to be performed.

"That's right, open it up." The two men with crowbars slowly pressed against the metal door that had recently been unlocked with a 10 digit combination by their commanding officer. After a minute of full exertion, the unused door slowly creaked open. One of the men turned on the light switch and suddenly the room was illuminated. Inside were rows and rows of cabinets with papers of all kind and what appeared to be intricate blueprints and designs. Situated in the middle of the room was a dusty supercomputer, cold and dead.

"All right boys, gather this data and start sending it to Caucasia. They want it pronto," the intelligence officer barked before turning the computer on. With a buzz and whir it slowly came to life and the knowledge of the former Greater German Empire was online.

For the next few hours, high amounts of encrypted packets were being sent to Caucasia through the computer and a transport plane was loaded with all the documents and took off for the Caucasian capital. It would arrive shortly.

Included in the plane was a message from Forseti Ty.

"We're receiving the data, sir," a technician said to James.

"Good," James II said softly. "Notify me when it is complete." He exited the room through the soundproof steel doors, and turned to the aide standing nearby. "Has the flight arrived yet."

"Yes, sir," the aide said. "The documents and blueprints have been unloaded and transported. They remain unopened. And there is a letter from Forseti Ty." She handed it to him.

James scanned the letter and smiled slightly. He sent a reply letter, reading simply.

Agreed.

---Two hours later---

James picked up the phone. "Yes?" he asked.

"Transfers complete."

"Good. Have them sent to DDP. They'll figure it out."

"Yes, sir."

He hung up, waited a moment, then picked up the phone again and dialed a number.

"DrakeDeath Productions, this is James Drake, Sr. speaking. How can I help you?"

"Morning, dad."

"Hey, little Jimmy. How's the kingship going?"

"Great. Listen-"

"Why am I receiving all these files from you?"

"Those are old German Reich designs. I want you to reproduce them, for our military's use. I think new Caucasian technology and German tech would greatly benefit the nation."

"Alright, can do. Any special requests?"

"Yes. Keep this top secret, don't sell it to anyone but us. We'll pay for the construction costs."

"Alright then, see you later, kid. Don't forget to come to that barbecue next weekend."

"I won't. Love you, dad."

"Love you too. Bye."

Both Jameses hung up, and the King sat down with a satisfied smile.

Many of the ships will go on their maiden voyages and complete their trial runs to ensure the high standard of our navy. Our nation is indebted to the many sailors and officers who will now assume their positions and are willing to lay their life down for our great nation.

ANNUAL SECURITY DAY

Today was marked by longed days throughout the nation as people lined up in front of the nearest National Preparations Office, operated by the Ministry of Security. All citizens of the FRG were given their standard issue gas-mask, a vial of iodine tablets, a voucher for two gallons of water redeemable at any store, and an official Identification Card complete with name, DOB, blood type, and designated blast shelter or vault. All citizens are encouraged to keep a healthy stock of canned goods, water, flashlights, radios, and batteries in their house in case of emergency.

OPERATION VANGUARD (private)

DefCon raised from 2 to 1. In addition, all volunteers in the GRG have been called up and mobilized. Most are stationed in the southern tip of the nation, though some are manning the coastal defenses and Grøenlandian Missile Defense Shield Network (GrMDSNET), designed to intercept any ICBMs or Nuclear Warheads launched at the nation.

All nonessential troops and vehicles from military bases and installations outside of FRG proper have been recalled back to Greenland for defense.

The Senatus recently approved the Ellesmere Island Territory Act, officially making Ellesmere Island a federal territory of the FRG. The Island, currently home to 146 researchers, has been a Viniland protectorate for years with no signs of a local government forming. As such, the FRG has approval from Viniland to place it under its control to help it grow and prosper.

Much of the island will be made into a wildlife and nature preserve, however the current settlements: Alert, Grise Fiord, and the capital Eureka are expected to grow substantially with this announcement. In fact, the government is offering money and land to settlers who decide to relocate to the island. Many are taking advantage of this offer and an airport is currently being constructed in Eureka.

The territory is hoping it will gain enough people to become a province. Currently, a federal territory needs to have 50,000 non-military permanent residents and petition the government to formally become a province.

Ellesmere Island

Thousands of citizens took the government up on its offer, and the population of Ellesmere Island has soared from a few hundred to roughly 15,000. While a large stretch from the 50,000 needed to become a province, recently elected Ellesmerian Governor Pitseolak Ashoona called it a "good start on the way to prosperity." Imports for lumber, heavy machinery, and other construction supplies has soared due to the recent influx of residents and neighborhoods are practically springing up from the ground. Houses and other buildings are required to follow stringent building codes to ensure they can withstand the snowstorms that frequent the area.

In other news on Ellesmere Island, a large part of the island has been set aside with the recently passed Ellesmere National Parks Act. Almost half of the island has been roped off from all industry and living. In the next few months, citizens will be allowed to explore the natural beauty of Ellesmere Island inside the park.

AMERICAN DEFENSE Private

With the recent acquisition of the Carolinas, Northern Republic defense on the American homeland has become much more important, especially with New England neighbors. The people of Florida remember an area under Pravus Ingruo where they were well protected, and it has been decided to fortify all holdings.

Project Augustus The entire border with New England will be upgraded from the current chain link fences. Barbed wire cement walls will be built along the border. Checkpoints will be placed intermittently and will have enough barricades to halt an enemy force. Along the border a serious of blast proof bunkers will be constructed and manned by NR Border Guards. The point of these fortifications are not to push back an invading army. Rather, they should be sufficient to halt any blitz force or slow down a large army until mobile reinforcements have arrived.

In addition, the Department of Strategic Defense has agreed to place NORSEDEN and IMDS systems in Florida, and agreed to a list of Cities Vital to NR Security (CVNRS List).

Project Charles Essentially the same thing as Operation Augustus except in the Carolinas. Although they are not provinces in the Northern Republic, they are still guaranteed the same security and safety provided to all NR holdings.

ELECTION RESULTS IN

The polls have closed around the Northern Republic and the results have trickled in. With most precincts reporting, we are able to officially declare the results of this election.

Ísólfur Ármannsson of the Democratic Republican Party has been elected President with a clear majority! President Isolfur made a short acceptance speech and promised to continue many of the successful programs implemented by his predecessor but plainly stated he was hoping to make some well-needed changes.

The Congressional breaks down as follows:

Democratic Republican Party: 113 seats - (22.57% of votes)

Liberty Party: 100 seats (19.75% of votes)

Nordlandic Revival Party: 21 seats - (4.23% of votes)

Democratic Freedom Party: 106 seats (22.12% of votes)

The People's Party of Greenland: 3 seats - (0.4% of votes)

Party for First Greenlanders: 55 seats - (11.09% of votes)

Polar Bear Protection Party: 74 seats - (14.25% of votes)

Independents: 28 seats - (5.59% of votes)

After the news the Democratic Republican Party, Liberty Party, and Party for First Greenlanders announced a coalition in Congress, giving them a commanding 268 votes, 17 more than required for a majority. They are expected to pick a candidate for Prime Minister in the following week who should be voted in without any problems.

SOUTH CAROLINA PLEBISCITE

NO - 58.22% of votes

Immediately following the results a large amount of voter fraud complaints have been filed. Analysts believe there may indeed have been voter fraud, because exit polls suggest the option for annexation had over 75% of voters checking YES. The South Carolina Provisional Government has stated they are currently investigating the claims and the results of the poll could not yet be confirmed as valid.

SOUTH CAROLINA PLEBISCITE UPDATE

Earlier today the Ministry of Security confirmed they have apprehended over 30 individuals in what appears to be massive voter fraud across the state of South Carolina. The individuals, who have not been named yet, are believed to have been part of an underground communist organization that was vehemently opposed to joining the Northern Republic, widely considered to be anti-communist.

Many of the citizens voiced frustrations about the election, calling it a "sham" and an "illusion of democracy." In order to counter these claims the Carolinian Provisional Government has ordered an emergency plebiscite in both the Carolina states to determine their future. The Provisional Government, with the help of the Northern Republic, is purchasing voting machines to ensure no more fraud occurs. In addition, a recent local government called the Nos Tre Republik has risen and the option to join it has been put on the ballot as well. The polls open tomorrow and will be open for two days, remember to vote!

CAROLINIAN ELECTIONS

After another round of voting, the polls have officially closed and the results are ready to be made official. Unlike the previous election, there have been few to no reports of voter fraud and outside analysts are declaring these results to be the "legitimate voice of the people."

In South Carolina, the people have chosen the option to join the Nos Tre Republik. The people cited concerns about remaining a protectorate by pointing to a provisional government which has been described as "unstable at best." In addition, many people thought that the Northern Republic's anti-communist stance instigated the voter fraud, ultimately allowing the Nos Tre Republik to land a majority of votes. The Northern Republic government has accepted these results and have turned over the land to the new government. A treaty is expected to follow.

In North Carolina, the people voted in their plebiscite to join the Northern Republic. Many people were disgusted with the actions by the FRA to land grab Georgia and are weary of their neighbors. They feel the Northern Republic can provide needed security and stability. The Northern Republic Congress, including the Senatus and Councilvirate, have been holding an emergency session of Congress after reviewing the results. They have the authority to accept or reject this offer and politicians have been vigorously debating both sides for hours. More conservative members feel there is a moral perogative to keep as much land from New England (Technically the FSA, however the Northern Republic symbolically refuses to recognize such a union) as possible. The liberals however have noted that the land is disconnected from any other Republic provinces which are spread far enough apart already, and that North Carolina shares an extremely long border with New England. This would require the construction of border defenses and patrols against this typically hostile nation. A law is expected to pass shortly.

The North Republic Congress narrowly passed the [b]North Carolina Provincial Integration Act[/b], officially incorporating North Carolina as the 7th province of the Northern Republic. The North Carolina Provincial Government has been established, led by Governor Beverly Purdue. 40,000 NR troops are being dispatched to North Carolina and numerous construction companies are establishing business to improve the province's infrastructure.

In addition, the aircraft carriers [i]FGV Jacob Kleist[/i] and [i]FGV Hans Enoksen[/i] along with a support force of two frigates, two cruisers, and two corvettes have been dispatched to rendezvous and accompany the Rebel Army task force in the Atlantic.

In addition, construction has been started on the SOSUS line stretching from the southern tip of Greenland to Disparu. Located at the mouth of the Labrador Sea, the SOSUS line uses passive radar to detect submerged objects such as submarines. Two Trawlers and five Cable Layers have been dispatched from the [i]Republic Oceanographic Division[/i] to begin construction and one cutter and operations vessel from the [i]Republic Coast Guard [/i]have been sent to assist as well. Incoming and outgoing traffic is being redirected through the Sea so as to avoid colliding with the operation.

We have received confirmation that approximately an hour ago over a dozen explosions rocked buildings in the Northern Republic capital city of Höfuðborgarsvæðinukrokurfjordur. These buildings are said to include apartment complexes, financial and commercial skyscrapers, and an indoor high school. All of these buildings collapsed within minutes of each other and although no official word has been issued yet, most citizens believe this was an act of terrorism.

The capital city has been shut down and the streets are packed with emergency vehicles. Search and Rescue crews can be seen pulling survivors from the rubble and the city hospitals have confirmed they are currently operating past maximum capacity. In addition to the city, all non-emergency flights in the Northern Republic have been grounded and the borders with the Eggman Empire, New England, and Nos Tre Republik have currently been closed to all civilian traffic.

The stock market has rebounded after it spiraled out of control the day it opened after the terrorist attack. The Northern Republic Stock Market Index Quotient (NORdex) dropped from 365.2 points to a measly 80.6 however the fears were unfounded as the the NORdex is only swlightly below the previous pre-terrorist attacks.

So far NR intelligence has captured 12 members of the alleged terrorist group, including the ringleader. The leader, who stated "Death to the Northern Repunlic" as he was brought into the courthouse is due to appear in court again later this week along with other the other terrorists.

In other news the Northern Republic military has mothballed many of the navy's ships reducing the over two dozen strong fleet to 8 capital ships. The Commodore of the Navy stated this action "severely compromised the continue security of the Northern Republic" and pledged to increase the amount of ships at the next Joint Chiefs meeting. Also due to the need to cut costs the Republic Guard has decreased the number of troops in the military from 460,000 to 400,000 men.

The [i]Oceanic Protection Administration[/i] of the [b]Department of Homeland Defense[/b] has approved the construction of four SOSUS line networks with the recent agreement made between the Northern Republic and the Kingdom of Cochin. The cooperation and technology provided by the Kingdom of Cochin will allow the Northern Republic to employ state of the art SOSUS line systems capable of detecting seismic, acoustic, and electromagnetic irregularities within its detection area.

The [i]Republic Oceanographic Division[/i] had agreed to loan its 5 cable layers for usage in this project. The ships are headed to Florida and North Carolin immediately to commence operations as soon as possible.

In addition, construction has begun on a series of Republic Navy Monitoring Stations (RNMS) to record and analyze information received from the SOSUS lines. Construction of the stations is to begin immediately. Each station will be equipped with security, administration buildings, barracks, and operations buildings tasked with monitoring the lines.

An anonymous source inside the government announced that the [i]Senatus Military Commission[/i] has come to an agreement after a full debate of hearings from the Joint Chiefs of Staff in regards to the recent and severe cut on the military, particularly the navy and Republic Guard. The commission agreed with Naval Commodore Johnathon H. Willaby's testimony that the cuts "posed a serious risk to our nation's security," supported by other members of the JCS.

After the hearing the Senatus and Councilate both passed a bill written to increase funding for the military. After these results the Republic Guard immediately stated it was going to increase active military troop levels from 400,000 men to 480,000 men. In addition, the Navy has decided to recommission the current mothballed fleet and finish the construction of several ships to boost the blue water capital ship fleet size to 28 vessels. Expected to be completed soon are the [b]NRV Miami[/b], a corvette, the [b]NRV Guardian[/b], a frigate, the [b]NRV Michael Croix[/b] and [b]NRV Tom Dobbs[/b], destroyers, and a new aircraft carrier the [b]NRV Lars Johansen[/b].
