To be perfectly honest, I don't know what you two are smoking - the Schlieffen plan, in a tatical sense, worked both times (the second, with the amendment that eludes me) in both World War I and World War II. While not very revolutionary, other than that it ignores such longstanding Belgium neutrality and British naval power (similiar too attacking where the enemy is strongest, thus they'll least suspect it, but in a less physical sense), except in a political sense; it worked.
