bobjohnny
and GATO is pronounced like NATO and not like the spanish word for cat. Actually, thats exactly how i pronounce it.... the spanish word for cat. Could be worse, I could call them Perro.
Uralica
I usually pronouce it Neh-Meh-Sis.I'm more interested in Zenith, do people say Zee-Nith or Zeh-nith? My usual pronunciation is highlighted. In IPA it would be /zɛnɪθ/ (as opposed to /zinɪθ/)

savethecheerleader
Damn the internet and it not transferring sarcasm. /me facepalms I thought that might be the case, but so many people seem not understand this... Well, I feel silly now  Also, I've always pronouced GATO like NATO. Any other non-Spaniards out there?

Now let's all get back to sounding out words like we're in grade one.
Van Hoo III
NemesisYou'd have to be an idiot to not know how to pronounce it. HINT: NEE - MEE - SEES Neh-muh-sis for me. I heard Deta call RIA "REE-UH", which to me is just wrong. GATO is GAY-TOE STA is ES-TEE-AYE NAAC is KNACK ... or KNAAAAAACK ...
BamaBuc
Tee oh oh ell. Nah, I just say "TOOL" I say VE as vee ee, RIA as reeya, STA as ess tee ay, and GATO as gey toe. So I really don't have a method to it, I just pronounce them in my head as I see them. I still say EKelon instead of ECHelon, because I first thought of it in my head as having a hard CH, even though I now know that's wrong. -Bama
jaaku
neh-meh-sis Get it right Hoo! for LOSS..uummm....of f*** it, if you can't pronounce the word, you're too stupid to read the pronounciations
bobjohnny
NAAC is KNACK ... or KNAAAAAACK ... It was always N-double A- C for me...kinda like NAACP.... Not Hispanic. That just how I've always pronounced GATO. It's spelled the same, so why not?
Neoche666
well i am in valhalla and we tend to pronounce our name HY-PPEES YN PEES-MOAD- R-OOL with a silent halla at the end
Uralica
For me, Echelon is /ɛʃǝlɑn/ (EH-shuh-lon). Also: /me headdesks at taking Flinders literally. ASPIE MOMENT
Innerspeaker
I've always said en pee oh for NPO, pole air iss for NpO, en vee for nueva vida, the Spanish word for cat when pronouncing GATO, reeya for RIA, and vee ee for VE.

Byron Orpheus
I say Pole-ahr-is for NpO N-A-A-C would be how I would say NAAC. Also, Zenith for me is Zeh-nith
Asriel Belacqua
NAAC, either EN, Double A, See, or NAAC as in I have a "Knack" for something.
Moridin
I rarely sound out acronyms phonetically. As a general rule I just read off the letters even when it probably makes more sense not to - I call TOP "Tee Oh Pee" rather than "top", NAAC as "En Ay Ay See" rather than "Nak", GATO as "Gee Ay Tee Oh" rather than "Gahto or Gayto" (no offense intended on the last one). The only exception that comes to mind is IRON.

Uralica
Everyone does things differently. I pronounce anything that could be pronounced as an acronym, as an acronym. To avoid confusing Ragnarok and R.O.C.K. in speech, I don't use the Ragnarok abbreviation RoK. (I do in text because they are distinguishable.) I even go so far as to pronounce GOP as "gawp." WAPA I rhyme with Nappa (see Dragon Ball Z ). Yes, weird Jarkko is weird, blah blah blah yackity schmackity.
New Frontier
Es Tee Ay. Really? I've always pronounced it "Stah".
SpoiL
Es Tee Ay. Interesting. I always call it Stah for STA. Dunno why Edit: And apparently so does the guy above me Edited April 20, 2009 by SpoiL
Guffey
NPO- pacific-ahh NpO- polar-iss NAAC- en- double A - see RIA- are-eye-ay Gramlins- Gram-lins STA- ess-tee-ay RoK- rock GATO- Gay-toe NATO- Nay-toe
Lyria
I don't pronounce acronyms for alliances unless its a real word. Like TOOL, TOP, FAN, etc. NATO and GATO are the two exceptions i can think of. and its Ehm Kay.
MTTezla
For me, it's "Gah-toe", like the spanish word for cat. "Gay-toe" makes more sense considering the pronounciation of NATO, but oh well. I also spell out the letters in RIA instead of saying "reeyah".
