OOC: just to let people know, its an economic Treaty

IC

asean_flag.jpg

The Empire calls this meeting of ANCA open to discuss ANCA business, and to revitalize the talking ANCA had.

Signatories: Neo Japan, Northern Empire

The Cholan Empire has been removed from the treaty on the grounds it no longer exists

*****************************************

the Imperial representative looked at his notes

"I should begin by wishing to discuss the matter of the Phillipines. With our new treaty with them, we offered them entry into this agreement. We would feel better if that invitation had your backing as well. Do you oppose this?"

A consultant to the ANCA from TNE had this to say:

"I believe your ally would make a fine edition to this organization. We hope that all nations are willing to drop water regulations and taxes for members of the ANCA.

To the Neo Japan representative:

Do you find anyone else suitable to join this?

To the Korean diplomat:

Granted if Japan allows it. We wonder, though, what do you wish to obtain in observing an economic treaty?

To Mykep Rep:

There are many asian nations, but few have expressed interest as of yet. I suppose it would be a case by case basis

to Korean Diplomat:

We will allow observer status, though we must ask the purpose of observing a treaty

We lost a nation that held alot of Asia together. We'd rather see people looking to give control to regional governments rather than expansion.

We'd also like to make a treaty that involves the following:

Freedom of all Asian nations through water.

Expansion in Asia is forbidden by Asian nations AND Outside Nations

Colonization must be dealt with

Land in Asia is scarse, and warlords are taking land where they do not belong. This does not target one nation, but many. We hope that ANCA addresses these issues.

As this is an economic agreement, the Western Republic requests the admission only of our island holdings of Palau and surrounding islands. This keeps our non-Asian lands out of the treaty and as it is already an economic powerhouse near the Southeast Asia region we feel that an inclusion to an economic Asian treaty does not seem too much of a request.

We leave it to you.

ANCA is an economic treaty, not a defensive pact, nor would I wish to see it so, especially after the failing of the first ANCA treaty. It is the sacred duty of ALL Asian nations to prevent such criminal things like Foreign colonialism, the rise of terrorism (like the former DKT), and protect the solidarity of Asia. No treaty should be required for such honorable acts.

Personally speaking, I do not find that Palau meets the requirements for entry; it is not located within Asia. However, it's proximity to the Philippines, by a mere 500km puts it within a "reasonable request" situation, and as such should be decided upon specifically. What do you guys think?

For one, it is always good to know what our neighbors are doing economically and how they are faring. For two, there has been a lobby in the Imperial Court to partially reverse the near-total isolationist diplomatic policy of the Empire and watching out for the future never hurt.

What are the stipulations to this treaty/organization? What possible benefits would admission bring to signatories?

"One of the Melvin Republic's main obligations to the people is providing a positive economic atmosphere. We highly value international relations that promotes economic growth."

Altin Urda would love to join.
Beijing Corp wonders if it can join this Economic Treaty.

Both are certainly eligible, and both could definitley use the economic assistance. Personally, I feel that Beijing Corp takes priority, as it has no prior connections and is dealing with 1, possibly 2 nuclear radiated areas, whereas Altin Urda already has RUSSIAN as an aid. We will reserve voting until the Philippines and Northern Empire have had their say.

A fair argument, and well presented. The Empire casts it's vote as Aye towards allowing observer status for Korea.

Given our experience in the first ANCA, the UK will not join. We, however, would like to apply for observer status

Fortunately, past experience will mean nothing. ANCA has been revised and is an economic treaty now, with no defense clauses or requirements whatsoever. The Empire will vote Aye for Observer status for the UK

Note: Observer status means that the Observer's can participate in ANCA meetings, suggest amendments to the treaty, etc., but do not have voting power

Beijing would be allowed, but after we discuss with Altin Urda if there were in fact missile launches at our Emperor. I believe that would move Altin Urda to the top of the list.

Aye as well, and this should be the reasoning for all in Asia to obtain observer status, that is to improve relations with neighbors if only by economics, if not membership.

Aye as well, and would hope that they would once again seek membership once they see how ANCA has improved.

Note: Observer status means that the Observer's can participate in ANCA meetings, suggest amendments to the treaty, etc., but do not have voting power

Note: Talk only, do nothing till you are a member.

@Japan representative: Would you mind displaying the charter for all to see?

New cymru is not an Asian Based nation, therefore does not qualify.

The Socialist People's Union of IndoChina would also like to have observer status in the ANCA.

Agreed, We vote Aye on observer status

Would you mind displaying the charter for all to see?

OOC: Id rather PM it but here it goes

The Treaty is outdated, and one of the first topics Id like for us to begin discussing eventually is possible revisions to the economic part of the treaty
