Maelstrom Vortex
OOC: I'm aware of that. But the spacestation is in earth's orbit, being assembled there, etc, like the ISS or MIR. IC: The cars are currently being produced by a Saborian company and scheduled to be finished when the space station is at 90% completion. Even if that was not the case, would Desator Industries have the technological prowess to construct these cars? OOC: I'm only capable of actually finishing that thing because I'm closing in to ~4k tech, 2024 equivalent. Had I staid at ~3300, the project would eventually have failed. IC: We already are importing the necessary raw materials from various countries of the world, but if you can deliver them more quickly and cheaply, we would consider switching to you as importer. OOC: You also don't have to say "Tasmania is this and that IRL". I just RP the resources I have Ingame and then some. OOC: @Saboria: Well then, I'm still loaded. Thanks to fully completed infra ring. @Il Terra Di Agea: In deposits they're 6th, not necessarily extraction. With the Dragon Empire sitting on top that island industrial output is going to be quite different. IC: "Considering we have natural coal deposits, firing steel is very inexpensive. We will see what our trade department can send to you." He responded.
HHAYD
We are willing to send you $25 million to help finance the project. If you need any plastic, fuel, steel, coal, and/or aluminum, we will send it to you to help build the giant space station. Steel is actually one of the resources we need less than one would expect - Carbon fiber-armour, similarly to the Leopard 3A1 tank and the Standard Infantry Suit our forces use, will be employed as first defense against micro-meteorites. For this, we need the coal itself. The steel will merely be used to reinforce the inner parts of the structure and provide parts of the hull. Other than that, mostly modern composites will be used. While more expensive, they are better fit for this than pure steel. We are willing to send you $25 million to help finance the project. If you could deliver fuel for our space shuttles, we would appreciate it. Edited January 25, 2009 by Lynneth

Arkantos
We would also be happy to supply coal, as we have a large amount of it, seen here: (Altea is where Ohio is on the map)Another advantage to having Altean Coal to Dragonsian coal is transport costs would be considerably less, as Altea is much closer than Dragonsia. Lynneth
What kind of fuel does your space shuttles need? As the Altean official has said, Liquid Oxygen and Liquid Hydrogen; Rocket fuel, essentially. We would also be happy to supply coal, as we have a large amount of it, seen here: (Altea is where Ohio is on the map) Space Shuttles use Liquid Oxygen and Liquid Hydrogen. While we do not want to deplete your coal reserves unnecessarily, we would be glad to receive whatever you can spare. Arkantos
We can currently spare 20 tons of anthracite coal. The rest is required by our steel industry. The only thing we ask in return is the right to conduct our own research on the station, and to possibly use it for a future space program. Arkantos
Altean seismographs have picked up a large spike, and, after contacting 2 other seismograph stations in the area, have pinpointed a location within the G.L.S., right on top of one of these "rocket fuel" plants. And, we will have a larger amount of coal on the way shortly. Edited January 25, 2009 by Arkantos

(OOC: That's what this wikilink says /OOC) One of our satellites noticed an unusual explosion within your nation. We also noticed the explosions, two plants exploded, one had a software failure but didn't explode. I am afraid that we can only send you 200 metric tons of the hydrogen/oxygen fuel, but currently, there are two more hydrogen/oxygen production plants being built and they will be finished being built in about a month. -------------------------------------- Few minutes ago in Great Lakes State... ----------------------- In the first producing plant, ExIm corp plant: Computer operator: Increasing hydrogen/oxygen production by 10%, 40% to 50%... *Computer operator opens up the producing control panel and hits increase production by 10%. Computer screen suddenly fills with error messages* Computer operator: WTH?! meanwhile... The water was flowing through the electric separator machines, being turned into hydrogen and oxygen. Suddenly, the water pumps, hydrogen pumps, and oxygen pumps stopped, and then pumped in reverse. So then, the hydrogen and oxygen was being pumped back into the electric separator and when hydrogen+oxygen+high voltage electricity, you get a massive explosion. *Electric separator machines explode into balls of fire, lighting up the oxygen pipes and hydrogen pipes, which then lighted up the oxygen/hydrogen storage tanks.* ------------------------------ In the second producing plant, ExIm corp plant: Computer operator: Increasing hydrogen/oxygen production by 10%, 46% to 56%... *Computer operator opens up the producing control panel and hits increase production by 10%. Computer screen suddenly fills with error messages and display a message saying, "Norton Antivirus program has detected a malware, deleting Production control panel program.* Computer operator: WHAT?! *Electric separator machines and pumps suddenly started operating over the max, resulting in an explosion.* -------------------------------- In the third producing plant, Fuel company: *Computer operator opens up the producing control panel and hits increase production by 20%, from 50% to 70%. Computer screen suddenly fills with rick roll pop ups and then crash into BSOD from CPU and RAM overload.* Computer operator: OMFG!! I hate rick rolls!! Arkantos
ANN Special Report An explosion today in G.L.S. was detected by satellites from space and by seismographs here in Northern Altea. The explosion of two rock fuel producing plants was caused by various reasons. The explosion of the first was caused by a malfuction in the pumps that convert H2O into pure Hydrogen and Oxygen. The second was caused by Norton Antivirus deleting a vital part of production, resulting in a runaway increase of the machines until they overheated, detonating the pure oxygen and the pure hydrogen. A third plant was shut down due to a software malfunction. We have a video of it .That's all for this special report. Now back to Martha's Cooking With Garlic. Lynneth
While roughly 58% of the space station have been completed, a terrible disaster has happened. A space shuttle, carrying the name Columbus, has been destroyed during re-entry into the atmosphere. The exact circumstances are not known yet, but we are investigating what could have caused this terrible accident. Unfortunately, none of the 7-man crew survived; They all perished as the shuttle literally disintegrated. Following, the crew of the shuttle. * Commander: Rick D. Husband, an Air Force colonel and mechanical engineer, who piloted a previous shuttle during the first docking with the Space Station. * Pilot: William C. McCool, a Navy commander * Payload Commander: Michael P. Anderson, an Air Force lieutenant colonel and physicist who was in charge of the science mission. * Payload Specialist: Ilan Ramon, a colonel in the Western Republic Air Force and one of the first WR astronauts. * Mission Specialist: Kalpana Chawla, an Indian-born aerospace engineer on her second space mission. * Mission Specialist: David M. Brown, a Navy captain trained as an aviator and flight surgeon. Brown worked on a number of scientific experiments. * Mission Specialist: Laurel Clark, a Navy captain and flight surgeon. Clark worked on a number of biological experiments. We will do our best to learn from this catastrophe, to never again let it happen. In the honor of these great people, the Chairman has announced that a unmanned mission will be launched to Mars, which will also carry a memorial for these men and women. OOC: One can consider this a tribute - if a bit late - to some great and brave people. .
