It has a pretty bad connotation. You could honestly reform as another Haruhi based alliance with a different name and you wouldn't have the stigma of SOS Brigade following you around, though you still would be ridiculed for being lolanime. For most people that were in SOS, the name has more connotations than just Arrnea and they may not want to give those up. I think SOS is aware that it'll be hard, but I wouldn't give up hope for SOS to get cleared of it's worst reputation, if they act properly.
