  1. A bloc where the members are embarrassed to be named :D o/
  2. I do like this idea of someone knows how to do it.
  3. The thing I see is a whole bunch of individual examples on why raiding can be good yet no representation from anyone who quit over the issue. Think about that for a minute... I must admit Thorgrum raises a good point though. For what it's worth I actually suspect raiding does as much or more good than bad myself, the trouble is there's only one way to find out. Edit: Typos because tablets suck.
  4. I'll have you know I've never been so medicated in my life as I am right now!
  5. Listen up folks for a serious discussion. For as long as I've played CN the debate has raged on whether tech raiding drove players from the game. I'm purposing a serious discussion on us all agreeing to try no raiding for a set period of time. Eight weeks. The goal would be to once and for all establish if raiding drove players out. I've posted this discussion in the OOC part of our boards deliberately as this suggestion in no way is a comment or even implication of one on the morality of the issue. With such a rapidly declining played base I feel now is the time to try it. For this to work it needs the support of all alliances and may even require ingame enforcement on a few. At the end of the eight weeks we go back to normal while we analyze and discuss the findings. Please discuss and tell me if I'm insane or this is worth trying for the short time it would take.
  6. Congratulations and happy birthday Pacifica. We've been the tightest of allies and the bitterest of enemies over those years but you have always mattered. Celebrate in style!
  7. I love thus treaty and particularly it's name/theme. In 20 years time if it passes through your mind you'll understand why. o/
  8. I'll miss you guys. Good luck for the future and I hope to see some in our Umbrella embassy.
  9. Love the graphic but it needs GOONS in it ;)
  10. I'm trying to work out which nations shouldn't be allowed vote. Seems to me that if we get three senators in it's because that's what the blue team want.
  11. Tywin you're wrong on this one. They asked me to but I had to decline (OOC I'm back in hospital). I know the battle between you and Grub all too well but you should walk from this one.
  12. A better explanation that has a valid point. It's funny we're debating in the war declaration thread after peace has been declared.
  13. Methrage is right here, it's not a morality debate at all but a common sense one. Using sanctions over minor matters is the thin edge of a seriously stupid wedge.
  14. Hi Franz I'm as biased as hell at times and I don't pretend otherwise. In this case I was being honest though and my questions were real. I think the senate sanctions were stupid and inappropriate but I do accept and appreciate your explanation.
  15. You're both absolutely correct. I was just puzzled with the response and the justifications never once even hinting the logs weren't real, just an objection to them being leaked.
  16. The reason I don't leak logs isn't to avoid war, it's to not betray people's trust. I'd expect the consequence of leaking wouldn't be war, but to lose that trust from people and the the benefit of that trust. Likewise, I'd expect Lord Hitchcock to have lost the trust of some people for posting logs and therefore he'll lose the benefit that trust gave him. We didn't declare because they leaked a log! We declared because a leaked log showed a plan to attack us and even included a timeline. I assume the same in conversations I have. My point is betrayal of that ends in loss of trust, not sanctions or war.
  17. I agree Rey but I really was being genuine with what I wrote. I didn't see anyone denying the logs validity, just people saying LH shouldn't have shown anyone. Franz doesn't set the policy but that doesn't mean what he said was incorrect.
  18. Help me catch up here because I've been away a few days. DK or the wider Doom Sphere regard NG as nothing more than a meatsheild. The "logdump" was actually said to LH so is his own log do do with as he chose. There appears (I may have missed it) to be no dispute about the truthfulness of the log. Honestly, correct me if I have misunderstood the situation here because I'm genuinely not across this and trying to understand. As it looks to me, there was no spying and no lying and no accusation of such. You state "I'm sorry Lord Hitchcock but a log dump is a very traditional casus belli" but I kinda don't see that. The log dumps traditionally regarded as a CB have been acquired by dubious means or untrue. A senate sanction for a true statement on information gained in an above board manner seems pretty inappropriate to me. The sanctions on the blue sphere at least were stated as "NADC request" Where was NADC wronged in all of this?
  19. Indeed Rush, we need catch up one day! I never understood how you could be retired and yet involved and interested at the same time. Now I get it and see what you've been enjoying for ages :D
  20. When DBDC started they had no treaties and were in range of the upper tier for most alliances. That made them free and deadly. Trust me I know just how deadly! Now DBDC are a regular alliance with big nations entrenched firmly into the web. Ten treaties and PECS is a solid commitment. Seven out of ten of DBDC's treaty partners also hold a treaty with NPO. There's a reason people don't fear DBDC anymore and it isn't because they went soft. It's because they totally muzzled themselves and to do anything not NPO approved means putting the majority of their treaty partners in a bind. Many people said the only danger to DBDC was DBDC, they were right.
  21. Far from it. You have fourteen massive nations that will win pretty much any battle you fight. You also can only hit about the same amount in Pacifica and after one round probably only three. After two rounds you can hit none of them. Look at this logically and after two weeks you're twiddling your thumbs while they have over 380 healthy nations. I stand by what I said "collectively are far too small to be a danger." It's a pretty mute point anyway because neither of you have a reason to. You live in fundamentally different ranges and share allies.
