I made the offer to OcUK to come to us whenever they decided they were ready for peace. And guess what? They took me up on that. We've fought similarly built nations before, and certainly more of them, in various rogue attacks and micro retaliations in the past. Had OcUK started demanding reparations of their own or if they had taken a ridiculous position I would have handled this in a much different manner just like if I had been unreasonable from the start OcUK and GOONS would still be at war come August. But since we were able to approach this with level heads and without all the vitriol that is common among people who are quick to jump to conclusions without any knowledge of what it is they're talking about, we settled it amicably.

Yesterday, OcUK retaliated against GOONS for a tech raid launched on one of their members. It is beyond dispute that OcUK was, and still is at this point in time, unprotected when the initial raid was launched. It is also indisputable that GOONS fired the first shot that escalated into a small armed conflict between GOONS members and OcUK nations. Our policy regarding tech raiding is very clear and consistently enforced. This policy mandates that only the unaligned are acceptable for our members to raid and as a result of OcUK's own predicament regarding the cruel, otherworldly force known as 'inactivity', they were green lit when our member asked for permission. In similar situations other alliances or groups of unaligned nations sought a diplomatic solution before resorting to war against a numerically superior foe. OcUK has elected to go a different route, and it is one I respect. But it is an action that warrants a response until such time the conflict is concluded in a manner we deem satisfactory. Our conditions for fighting and ending this war may be surprising, or they may not, and I believe they are in keeping with the stance that OcUK has taken.GOONS will limit our response to OcUK's retaliatory attacks to OcUK nations engaging our members GOONS does not seek to enforce reparations or any other such terms against OcUK There is no deadline for peace to be agreed upon between OcUK and GOONS If OcUK should agree to it, we are willing to temporarily protect OcUK at the conclusion of this war until they find a protector of their liking Enjoy the war, I know we will. /s/, Marx, Secretariat

OcUK never contacted us for peace. They're within their right to defend themselves, but we're obligated to return the favor. If they want to talk about peace our door is always open.

For the last few years GOONS and our friends in The Last Remnants, and beforehand in =LOST=, had seen a long and mutually beneficial partnership that enabled us to contribute to the foundation of one of the finest political conglomerates in the history of the world. We have shared in one another's glory, and in one another's defeat. But through it all we remained confident of our success so long as we strove toward the same goals. Unfortunately over the last 18 months we have seen our friends in The Last Remnants along with our other friends in the Complaints & Grievances bloc divert from the path we once walked together. It is no longer practical to continue to be bound together when our goals now put us in conflict with each other. And while I am greatly disappointed in their decision, I wish them all the best. If you aren't Non Grata, a treaty with anybody means mutual respect and cooperation between both parties. But if you are Non Grata, it means condescension and self-righteous egomania toward anybody but yourselves.

You know, there was a reason I stopped posting in this thread a while ago. That's because I said all that needed to be said. If I see another person brag about their stats ITT I will declare an eternal war against them in which I only bombard them with bad posting. This strategy has served Loki and Methrage well, so there must be something to it. :rolleyes:
