2.
You know what else lacked Mogar? 2010.
Greatest year?
 3. I'm confused as to when 'they could possibly enter a war' become a widely accepted CB.
 4. 4 and 5 would be perfect additions to SE. I don't think I'd like to see the GRL, war length and techmod changes bought over though.
 5.
After careful deliberation, I have unbanned you from the New Sith Order. Go forth, my child, and use this second chance wisely.
How could you do this to us!
 6.
Funny, it shows you are not fighting, nor have you fought anybody in NPO.......
Whoa, a MudBug sighting. FOaD!

 8.
Caliph, Sheep
You are lucky Pansy didn't see this.
 9.
Anything that proves to test the unity of the red sphere is a good thing. Keep it up UED!
You mean like they did last time? I feel this post of yours deserves a turnip.
 10.
No I'm pretty sure Detlev's posts are better than yours. Have fun being old, though.
le gasp, you wound me sir. I noticed the warchest thing after I posted it, I guess tricking people into viewing this topic is my revenge for all those random highlights on IRC when warchests are discussed. Thanks for the congrats's guys.
 11.
I think there is only 1 thing left to say:
Just keep proving us right bro.
 12. Oh dear god. How you managed to rope other people into this, or why anyone would protect this trainwreck, I truly can't fathom. Does no-one remember the laughing stock that was UED 1.0, or the laughing stock that is KDII? If only this were April 1st.
 13.
Jeez we're getting old . Congrats on the getting this far.
I'll swap you some of my arthritis medicine for some of your prune juice. Cheers, you too. Just think, only 42 days until you too are wise and handsome!
Congrats. Why the change from NPO?
Well, it was kind of a combination of interrelated things. I'd been at NPO 4 years, and I wanted to experience other alliances and other cultures while I was still here and while there were still a decent number of players here. I'd like to eventually get in to some kind of leadership position, and I think I'd missed the boat in NPO. By the time I'd worked myself into a position where I could possibly be considered for elevation to the top echelons, if a position had opened up I think they would have been more looking for newer blood that both didn't have and wasn't perceived to have 'pre-Karma attitudes and stances'. And finally I think that my attitude was becoming a liability to Pacifica at a time when they were trying to demonstrate change since Karma. While I'm certainly not an old-time Pacifican, I guess I'd consider myself second generation, coming in after the GPW but while the GW period was ongoing. And when I discovered the OWF I tried to model my attitudes and posting style in the tradition of Pacificans like Ivan, Zha, Koona, those types of people. Fast forward a few years to the Karma terms period and there seemed to be very little in the way of a Pacifican voice out here in public. I unofficially took it upon myself to change that, and become pretty prolific in my posting for better or worse, always defending Pacifican actions and Pacifican points of view in that fairly brash style. For a while, when all the NPO needed was a voice, any voice, it worked fairly well. But as time went on and people started looking more and more intently for things that they could proclaim proved that Pacifica had undergone no change, the attitudes born from the period of NPO and WUT dominance which I was displaying became less beneficial and more counter-productive to Pacifica's current goals. And so I figured that it was probably better that I left, rather than become a tool by which Pacifica's enemies could drag her down.
WorldConqueror, you rock. Keep it up man.
Cheers man, good to see you still hanging round. MAIM KILL BURN.
Congrats i guess. Now go nuke someone.
I can come back out tomorrow. :>
 14. Nation Created: 1/7/2007 1:25:58 PM (1,500 days old) Is this something to be happy about, or deeply ashamed of? At the moment, I'm leaning towards 'both'. In any case, I thought I'd take this opportunity to lord my nation creation date over all those who have not yet joined us wise and handsome folk in the >1500 day club. One day, if you work hard and don't delete your nation, you too could join our glorious master race. In the meantime, I'll throw some words at you. I've fought in a total of 13 wars, from the post-GWII war against Fark to the current NPO-DH conflict, all but the current one under the banner of the NPO. And I guess those of you who know me would know me as the loud-mouthed Pacifican bridge dweller. To those who trip-trapped over my bridge, sup? I must admit I enjoy that role, and like to think I'm decent at it. Hopefully that's not just wishful thinking and I don't just sound like Detlev every time I post. Anyway, I think my favourite war is probably the first FAN war, they were tough fighters and this was before MP's so it was an almost purely conventional fight at the 30K range where I was at the time. Had a great squad at the time (FOaD Executors) and we had a lot of fun coordinating attacks on our target FAN nations. Also got to eat my first nuke, so all in all it was a good war. Karma was also quite fun, though not in a political sense Anyway, I've enjoyed my time here, and I look forward to seeing what the post-war world brings, besides Sith domination of course. :> WorldConqueror, away! Also, Stumpy, angel wing tattoo best friends forever mang!
 15.
WC, they've flat out said that they were trying to project neutrality, constantly. In our embassy, in most of their posts on here where they play the victim card and insist they want to be left alone, it's even mentioned a few times in here unless I'm wrong. By mdping up, and then withdrawing into themselves so hard and barely talking to anyone, it appears they wanted the cover of neutrality/political isolation, but the option of discarding it and rolling tanks. You just can't have it both ways. You're right, maybe it wouldn't of worked for Pacifica, but they wouldn't know unless they tried. I know if NPO came out of terms, and said... alright we just want to be left alone for awhile to reorganize our alliance from the ground up, no one I know of would of touched them. I've floated the idea to multiple folks, and they all agree it would of shocked them to death to see such a huge beacon of change being shown.
Well, they may have said that in your embassy, I'm not sure. But I'm pretty sure I haven't seen them in public saying that's what they are trying to project. I guess I would term their stance as non-belligerence, rather than neutrality as commonly defined in this realm. And I don't think they were as withdrawn as you think, we had dialogues going with alliances since we were in terms, when I was involved in FA over there. And I'm not sure what you mean by the 'cover of neutrality/political isolation'. Yes they were fairly isolated, but by virtue of that it means that they couldn't have rolled tanks even if they wanted to, because the people they conceivably could have wanted to hit were linked into the giant post-Karma power blob. It doesn't make sense to me that their isolation is somehow something they are utilizing in their quest to bring a new age of oppression to Bob, or whatever the line is. And what exactly would you mean by 'reorganize our alliance from the ground up'? I mean it sounds good, but it doesn't actually say anything. There was substantial change in the NPO since Karma, but whenever it's brought up it's always shouted down as not good enough, or too little too late. I'm not sure that a proclamation like that would do anything except draw cries of 'ALL TALK AND NO ACTION', which they still get now even after significant change.
 16.
That is amazing. I never knew it was autofilled on Google until now.
Yeah, you get it with just 'did you p', along with some other fairly amusing results.
 17.
You know, most mass-membership alliances close recruitment during wars, out of respect for the newbies, out of the belief that being sucked immediately into a war they had nothing to do with is not the ideal start for a new nation, and also out of the fear that new recruits might be spies. Pacifica, on the other hand, went on their greatest ever recruiting drive during karma. No respect, no concern - and a solid belief that general membership will never see anything worth spying for anyway? I wonder, are you on another recruitment drive at the moment, or has that at least changed?
It's called an applicant amnesty. And, this really made me laugh. You hear that Pacifica, even your recruitment policies are horrible, you monsters! And as I remember it, every applicant was informed there was a global conflict of which NPO was at the centre when they applied during Karma.
 18. Yeah good concept, should be pretty interesting. Some of the rankings have me confused though.
 19.
And this is how it relates to the topic at hand. You managed to convince all of VE in one instant of rage that the NPO after Karma was no different at all from the NPO before Karma. And I dare say the idea spread from there. NPO itself has declared war in the past for less than what was unleashed at our government in that thread. Going from what we saw from you on our boards to what we saw on your boards erased in hours what good will you had built up over months on ours.
I can understand VE not being happy about what happened in the embassy, but I've always been confused by this reasoning. Why does NPO being pissed off at the appearance of Sethb convince you that nothing had changed since Karma? The reaction to Sethb was a unique reaction to a very specific event where the catalyst of the then current situation was on our doorstep ostensibly as part of a drive to improve relations. It was perceived as a massive slap in the face by VE, and that is why the reaction was so fierce. It wasn't that we'd been sitting there silently raging, waiting to unleash on anyone who dared enter our embassies, and I don't think the NPO was known for that before Karma either. Which is why I wonder how that event is being taken as a continuation of something that had been going on since before Karma. And no, I'm not in NPO any more, I'm not really trying to argue on their behalf here, it's more to satisfy my own personal curiosity. Also, was it you who called me "the embodiment of the old Pacifican attitude"?
That's why it's called an opinion, you don't have to like it, nor take it. Seriously, you all think the path they took was the right one? The minute NPO came out of terms and MDP blitzed with most of the old crowd who'd have them back, they pretty much set every enemy they have on a "roll them they're trying to regroup" mindset worse then it was before. If NPO's mindset was to stay quiet, out of the way, and leave everyone alone, they would of been better off as a declared neutral, then a alliance who ignores/is asked to ignore it's MDPs to try to stay secure. The linking they did did nothing to project an image of neutrality.
Well, first of all I don't think Pacifica was ever trying to project an image of neutrality. Minding their own business and staying relatively out of the limelight sure, but not being neutral. Personally I think it's pretty bizarre to expect that any non-neutral alliance is suddenly going to proclaim themselves neutral. And even if Pacifica had decided to do that, I don't think it would have worked as you say. The reason that the neutrality of GPA and the other neutrals is respected is because they have a long history of neutrality and have shown they are committed to and can uphold that neutrality. Pacifica doesn't have that, and furthermore because no-one would believe that the NPO planned to stay neutral forever, it would simply be seen as an attempt to use a proclamation of neutrality as some kind of unilateral global NAP that everyone else is expected to uphold, while NPO hides behind it and builds up until they feel strong enough to return to 'their old ways'. If actually being involved in politics for a year post-terms and doing nothing besides minding their own business and hanging out with their small group of allies wasn't good enough, why would hiding behind sham neutrality be any better? Also, 'most of the old crowd'? Does anyone actually remember the amount of allies Pacifica had before Karma? Even if you discount those who dropped long held treaties in the few months preceding Karma, 6 is nowhere near approaching the number of allies back then. Signing treaties with a select group of close friends post-terms can hardly been seen as an aggressive or threatening act. I'd hazard a guess and say that each individual member of SF, C&G and now PB hold 6 or more MDP's.
 20.
You better not come out of peace mode. Seriously.
But then I'd never catch up! Don't try and play your mind tricks on me. D:
 21.
Anything that helps me get casualties is good in my book!
I'm going to bribe Gandroff to order you into PM for the rest of the war so I can catch up.
 22.
Summarizing some of what I said in there, if NPO came out of terms and declared itself neutral, like GPA neutral, not "resign with a bunch of folks the people in power loathe and just stay out of wars" neutral, touching you would of been political suicide.
I have trouble taking you seriously if that is your advice.
 23.
We were not aware of that - sorry. We don't mean to minimize the amount of reps those people paid.
It's cool, I didn't think you meant it like that. Just thought I'd mention it.
 24.
After all, per capita, these reparations were over 850 tech per member of DT, which is far more than NPO was forced to pay after they were defeated in the Karma War. This rate, of course, is neglecting the condition that all of this tech must be paid by nations possessing over 2,000 technology. Bringing that into the equation, the rate per capita is 1666.66 tech.
Good luck DT, this situation is ridiculous, and I hope that CSN and Xiphy see reason. That said, the quoted part isn't quite true. NPO nations in the 1k+ tech reps group each paid out thousands of tech, usually somewhere between 4,500 and 5,500.
