  1. These reparations are entirely fair. Kait was very willing to work with me to find an appropriate amount.
  2. For the last eight months, I, as an alliance leader have been preaching for reconciliation and open communication between Monos Archein and Aurora Borealis over past issues. Established Aurora Borealis policy maintained that we wished to reconcile with Monos Arcehin, and we would remain open to such reconciliation. That was and remains our policy. We do not wish now, nor have we ever wished to have ongoing tension with Monos Archein. The attacks launched on KaitlinK violated this policy. They were made, not only in poor taste, but they were not in step with our values as an alliance. Monos Archein was rightfully angered by this sharp departure from Auroran policy. It was an affront to Monos Archein. The attacks were petty and completely uncalled for. It runs counter to what Aurora Borealis stands for, and we apologize for this transgression. The attacks were unbefitting of our alliance and completely unnecessary. We will not tolerate rogue attacks on alliance leaders. The attacks came from highly regarded members within Aurora Borealis. One was a triumvir, and the other is a founder of the alliance. Both members have been reprimanded for these attacks. Both realize the error of their actions. Their actions are inexcusable, and remain under discussion. Aurora Borealis apologizes for the opportunistic attacks launched on the Archein of Monos Archein in the recent war. The attacks were made without formal declaration or acknowledgment. Aurora Borealis offers its sincerest apologies for the disrespect shown to Kaitlink through these attacks. We regret our actions, and we admit fault for these attacks; these attacks were without due or legitimate cause. Reparations in the amount of 180,000,000 dollars will be paid to Monos Archein by Aurora Borealis in light of these attacks. ------ On behalf of Aurora Borealis, we express our sincere remorse. 3. I can't wait to see you back 'round these parts. Hopefully, (OOC: RL) eases up soon.
  4. This is a separate peace agreement between Aurora Borealis and the Templar Knights. The exact terms of this peace are pending, as the announcement states. We are still at war with GOD and their allies who responded to our attack on them.
  5. We declared war on GOD to support our allies in Echelon, knowing full well they were twice our size and then some. We knew exactly the consequences of such an attack; we knew our attack activated their defensive treaties. It is perfectly fair and honorable that their allies respond in the manner that they have responded. I would be more discouraged if these alliances did not honor their defensive pacts. GOD and Nemesis and LoSS have all taken heavy damage to their alliances' infrastructure in support of their allies, and they are not complaining about insurmountable odds. Neither is Aurora's government nor the vast majority of its membership. This war was always going to be destructive. Hell, it is the nature of war. If Aurora Borealis was solely influenced by odds and numbers before we declared wars, we would not have declared at all. As for Rhombus (Jarrodicus), I have sent him your regards, Knights (several have commended his bravery in battle). He is a true warrior and his valour has not gone unrewarded or unnoticed. I thank you for offering your commendations.
  6. I never participated any of that. I was on a brief vacation at the time. I already said that. Besides, I condemned those tactics as deceptive. Hardly hypocritical. (OOC:)I was never much of a fighter. Whimsical and Mykep are putting up a great fight (read: kicking my sorry $@!) Anyways, it's nice to see you, too. (/OOC) IC: I will fight to the bitter end for my allies. :jihad:
  7. You would rather stick your head in the sand, and try to exert some control over 'the ones that got away.' We all know how well you deal with dissent and criticism, even legitimate criticism. Damn those who dare challenge your power! We're not victims. I have responded to some ridiculous claims and revisionism by your members and allies. Of course, what should I expect from Monos Archein? Your lot never cared much for truth.
  8. I have already elaborated on the history of this situation and our founding. I do not understand how we are 'pulling a FAN.' We are supporting our allies in a war. The original attack on FAN was precipitated by their assault Norden Verein, then a protectorate of Pacifica. They were a pretty ambitious group, too. Some argued Pacifica was eliminating a potential threat to their power. In contrast, Aurora Borealis declared war on the Global Order of Darkness in support of Echelon. When it became apparent Echelon would be attacked after they upheld their treaty with the New Pacific Order, we made a tactical decision to assist Echelon with GOD. We could have engaged Monos Archein, too. ( I believe we did engage some of their nations). We had obligations to uphold, and we did. The situations aren't comparable, at all. Further, we have allies and friends on the side of Karma. It is ironic how close we came to being on the same side of this war. I am sure you would have been able to put up with our fail, had that been the case. You would call us a ridiculous alliance without having ever talked with us. It's a shame, really. Open discourse between Aurora Borealis and Monos Archein might lead to a mutual understanding of our situation and possible consensus. But that would be entirely counterproductive, eh?
  9. You're wrong. --- I send my regards from across the battlefield, TTK. Let's do this.
  10. No, the harassment of Aurora Borealis was the issue at hand. The demands for an alliance-wide apology to Monos Archein from Aurora Borealis to an Aurora Borealis member was another issue. When Monos Archein's allies in GOD see fit to call Aurora Borealis $%&@ heads and to decry our former members as security risks on that basis, that is not pre-school antics? That is not digging up old wounds? Holding a grudge since the Unjust War seems excessive to me. Aurora Borealis's government had no qualms reconciling with Kait after we left. We even admit that the coup situation was handled poorly on our end. We recognize that we made some serious mistakes. We apologized. And yet we were told that there can be no reconciliation and that there were 'other, worse crimes.' We have been blacklisted due the the ridiculous allegations an AB founder posted obscene text in MA's public IRC channels before AB was formed. I have been told our members 'betrayed friends.' And I left MA in good standing. (I really did. Kait and I had an irreconcilable disagreement over policy. I still respected her work in Monos Archein; I just couldn't agree with her direction.) I was in no way part of the coup or the channel where impeachment was discussed. As a matter of fact, not a single Aurora Borealis Triumvir actively participated in that channel. For my own part in this mess, it began a week prior when Kait suggested to the government of Monos Archein we merge with Ragnarok. Initially, the triumvirate agreed with Kait on the issue. With some time to think it over, they changed their minds. I then spent that week discussing the issue with Kait and trying to persuade her to not merge, as did Er, a Triumvir of Monos Archein. She assured me it was the only way to save Monos Achein. She said that if any members truly did not want to merge, they could always leave RagnaroK or Monos Archein. There was nothing malicious or hateful or spiteful on either of our parts. We simply disagreed over a policy issue. I wasn't there for the #ma4evr channel, so I will refrain from commenting on it. When I had returned from a leave of absence, Kait had turned to her allies to remove the threat of a perceived coup. She refused to listen to those members she accused of attempting to coup her who tried to explain their actions or their non-involvement. When they explained that they did not want to merge she said they should have told her first and told them the merger was never discussed with Ragnarok, anyways. Obviously, this was all one huge miscommunication disaster between a leader and government , I thought Kait would work quickly to reconcile all parties and end the problem before it started. So I was surprised when I was told that reconciliation with these people would not be possible. She refused to listen to legitimate criticisms (and yes, there were some ridiculous criticisms of her work that needed to be discarded. Yes, she needed to show strength when she was faced with dissent-- strength in her own arguments and ability to lead MA. Yes, some members took their gripes too far and acted in a disrespectful manner.) I became disenchanted. My situation happened with other government members. Kait politely asked us to agree with her or leave. And others left. Most if not all of us had no part in any unethical or treasonous activity. We simply wanted to convince Kait that while merging with RoK was a nice idea, MA had more potential as its own alliance. Kait told me MA was dying and held that I was overly optimistic. It was over this issue that the majority of Monos Archein's government had a respectful disagreement with a leader, and left to join an alliance of other like-minded-leaders and old friends. No Triumvir from Aurora Borealis left Monos Archein in poor standing. We respectfully disagreed with Kait and left as she had suggested. We have many friends in Monos Archein, and we were hopeful for the future. We immediately wanted to resolve the issues between us immediately, to prevent future tensions. My own attempts were seemingly successful. I talked to several members of MA's provisional government about our differences, and we reached some level of agreement. I was told that these issues would heal with time. Ironically, with time, they have only festered and grown far worse. Those issues manifested themselves in this very declaration of war. The fact of the matter is, Kait went to her allies, instead of her own government to solve a crisis within Monos Archein. She asked her government to leave if we could not agree with her policy direction. We did, because we had no means to say no. Monos Archein was and is a dictatorship, and it was Kait's sovereign right to dictate the direction of her alliance. We exercised our sovereign right as rulers to leave. We knew realized we could not agree, and rather than continue to make a mess, we left. We did not wish to harm the alliance which we had put so much effort into. We made some mistakes along the way, yes. And perhaps we should have persevered in Monos Archein. Monos Archein never did merge with Ragnarok, after all. However, I am sure that decision was precipitated by the loss of 40 members (including 8 ministers, 2 founders of MA, 3 advisers, and the entire Triumvirate) to a splinter alliance who left over that very issue. As for that Echelon-diplomacy discussion, I regret that it ended in the cancellation of two treaties. However, it was a direct response to Kait's continued querying of our members. She refused to talk to Aurora Borealis's government, but continually talked to our members about issues they weren't all entirely privy to. We confronted her about it. I really would have rather talked to Kait in my query and resolved our differences there, but I was ignored. As I told Kait when I left MA, my query is always open. I remain optimistic we can talk in the future. Even during wartime.
  11. Eloquent as ever, Archon. Karma is fortunate to have you.
  12. While I must admit that I am disappointed to see this turn of events, Aurora Borealis maintains its commitment to Echelon. Caffine, I heard you were considering leaving, and I am truly saddened that you would consider that path. As a friend, I sincerely hope you reconsider. You have sacrificed a great deal for Aurora, and we will -we must- repay what we owe you-- our existence. I understand the nature of conflicting loyalties and the frustration that comes with it. Persevere. Long after the dust settles from this calamity, you will have your friends and your experiences. And we know where your loyalties lie. We recognize the sacrifices made for our sake. And we will never forget them. Echelon, we may not be the largest or the strongest of your allies, but however we can help, we will.
  13. I see where this is going. Interesting, to say the least.
  14. I will echo these thoughts. Good luck, Cool3atool.
  15. Great work, Mushroom Kingdom. You're as classy as ever. Congratulations on the peace, UBD.

  17. Congratulations all around. Nueva Vida are a class act.
  18. Happy Birthday, Nueva Vida. Here's to many more.
  19. Absolutely beautiful. Keep up the great work, guys.
  20. For Jonathan: What are your thoughts on Dominion's merger into MA? What are your thoughts on Aurora Borealis? For Ejay: Were you in ONOS during Sirettx's reign? What are your thoughts on his leadership of ONOS after the NPO set them free?
  21. This is an unfortunate turn of events, to be sure. Good luck to both parties.
  22. That was always one of my favorite flags. I wish you luck in securing the rest of your freedom.
