  1. It's a cleverly disguised war announcement. Who it is against, you will never find out until the war screen lights up with the fury of a thousand fireballs from above! Also: to mah mathiasan fwend.
  2. From the Office of Prime Minister An old man walks on to the stage, in front of a large banner representing the Browncoats and the independents that he represents. As he approaches the podium in the center of the stage, he takes a small swig from a small silver flask that he removed from his large brown duster. After he places it back inside his duster he clears his throat and begins to speak: Welcome, one and all, to this small and unruly part of the 'verse. Here we do things differently, and you may not like that, but that's why we're out here and you're in there. Out here on the fringe though, we like to party, and will celebrate for whatever reason we got. Well today I have a reason, and for all those who want to party, you're welcome to stay, for those who don't wish to party, well, you can go on home gorrammit. Asriel takes another small swig from his flask before continuing. Now on to why we're here a celebratin' and a partyin'. Ya see, we Browncoats, it's been a long road for us all, but after a while in nowhere, we decided to come back. That was two months ago, and so far we still ain't regrettin' that decision. We've got our ship, it brings us a bit o' cash, I got a crew, and we've all got one simple goal: Keep flying. For the last two months, we've done just that, and we're also pleased to announce that we have done well internally. We got up to 7 official members, with one in the process of joinin our crew, went from 69,000 strength, to just over 94,000 (that's a growth rate of about 27% over 2 months), gaining a nuclear nation, with 2 more along the way, and quickly gaining wonders, at about 13 so far with more coming every month. Asriel wipes his brow with his handkerchief and clears his throat once more before continuing I know that to large alliances and well established ones, these markers are small, but to us, an alliance who doesn't care too much about growing the fastest, or being the oldest, well gorrammit, we say screw you. This is our party. Have a drink or go home. Free rum all around for those who want any. We probably have some wine and beer too if you want that instead. Asriel, pleased with himself after this speech, more to allies than the world in general, opens up a door revealing a large room containing rum, beer, wine, and what have you. The room is large, and it is hard to see the other side. Rest assured: The Browncoats have plenty of barrels to fill your alcoholic needs. Tl;dr: You're too lazy to read my story so NO SOUP FOR YOU! Edit: also, Obligatory Browncoats picture:
  3. Like Drai said, I null-voted as I'd be too embarrassed to say which I voted for, however, I can tell you Modus that it has been discussed several times on and off the CN forums, and the answer is pretty much the same. There are some who consider actually doing it, a ton who miss it, and a majority that do not wish to see it return and tarnish the good name that it originally held.
  4. Ah, my mistake, misread your post then I guess. I thought you were saying Polar could do this simply because of that zero tolerance thing, but did not realize you were referring to this case as a possible, or believable breach in their minds. That log from Werewolf, well, let's just say it was enlightening, saw that after my post.
  5. I think you are failing to see their side of the story here, Francesca. Look at it from their point of view: You have a guy who's been known to spy/do other things against you and your friends. You are contacted by an IRCop saying he tried to hack your alliance's private channels. What are you going to think? You know he's lied before (still in NpO's shoes here, bear with me) and know he'll try anything to get out of the punishment. Are you really going to believe anything he says? Probably not, actually, most likely not, really, you're probably even less likely to believe it than a snowball coming out of a flaming pit of doom. You're probably going to wait until someone like an IRCop or IRC admin comes and says "oh hey, our mistake, he wasn't hacking" or something. I am not going to state which side of the fence I am on, I just think that it's important that everyone see both sides, and I know you better than most of these other people so I can respond to yours more than I can respond to theirs.
  6. I said "if" for a reason. Also, if you haven't talked to them, they couldn't have agreed either. Just pointing out the other side there. I also mentioned "if they agree" for a reason.
  7. If the IRC Admins agree that it was the companion and was therefore not him hacking, I think he should be let off easier then a ZI, then again, it's NpO's decision and they could honestly ZI him for basically no reason if they wanted. However, if the IRC Admins disagree with his claim, well, he's banned from IRC, and whatever you do is what you do and he had his chance, etc, etc.
  8. No, what I am saying is, you say that it probably won't turn out well for her, which is understandable, however, if she's leaving anyway, does it really matter? It goes back to that quote "the most dangerous enemy is one who has nothing to lose" simply because they can't lose anything, all they can possibly have is gain. As it stands, IMO, she really has nothing to lose.
  9. What does she really have to lose? In all honesty?
  10. Sorry if this is a double post "Used the katzith nick to spy on another alliance by invading their private channel" First off, any proof that she "invaded their private channel"? It doesn't say that anywhere. I'm also sure that the alliance that got "invaded" would have said something by now. No, the logs simply state that she used that nick in their channels, which implies public ones. She had access to other private ones, but that is not considered "invading" when you are openly admitted inside. "posted an inordinate amount to the point it crashed a server" This one, while it uses a boat-load of loaded-words, I cannot entirely disagree with, based on the logs, however she did state in those logs she did not know it would DDOS them, and has in this very thread, stated she felt very bad that it did, in fact, DDOS the forums, and she also stopped the action that caused the DDOSing, which implies that she did, in fact, feel remorse or at least wished to change or not let any more DDOSing be a result of her posting. "Proposed a "raid" on a website that would backlash in the worst way possible" She did propose a raid, yes, however she did make sure to clarify that it was a joke, several times, and didn't do it after the second time (the Ragnarok time, which was basically right after the first NPO one, IIRC). I can tell you are trying to see fault with her, and yes, there is some for not following their orders exactly to the letter, however, do you see any fault with NPO for imposing such things as OOC channel restriction on IRC?
  11. This is where I draw the line as well. That rule goes OOC and inflicts on a person's sovereign rights as an OOC player of this game to go into channels on IRC that aren't strictly CN related (CN is discussed, though not that often, in that channel, but from an OOC perspective, not an IC one).
  12. Nonono, it was joking about raiding 4chan with other NPOs.
  13. Be fair here, I never said "Upstanding alliance member" I simply said I wouldn't kick them out or force them to resign. Going to private channels? Spamming it up with a few friends? Having a few jokes about a few things? Harmless. I've seen far worse.
  14. OOC: I don't know about you, but I go into several OOC channels on IRC, and I don't have a problem separating them at all.
  15. I'd hardly say she "chronically misbehaved" I wouldn't kick someone out of my alliance for the things she did alone. If I had reason to believe she did other things, I wouldn't beat around the bush either and say that's why I'm punishing/inflicting harsher rules upon the person. However, even then I doubt I'd do that until I had reasonable evidence to prove that something was going on other than the misdemeanor acts that were demonstrated here in these logs. I believe that part is in there somewhere, just doesn't specifically name the channel. Just says private channels and that Cortath must be able to be inside them.
  16. She already responded, but, I don't know what either of you meant, she just pointed your post out to me and said that. I know nothing more/nothing less (except now that it's been clarified).
  17. And that is why this very handsome gentleman is widely accepted in my alliance.
  18. You're still leader in MY mind AT.
  19. You know, I can understand why a lot of people in this thread feel the need to make themselves look big by making others look small, but really, you are doing yourselves a disservice. Do you want to know why? I'll tell you why: A long time ago, there was a small alliance. Started out with a few people, but eventually grew large. This alliance was the Gremlins. A long time ago, there was a small alliance, called TOP. They started out with a few people as well, they are currently leading in score. A long time ago there was a relatively small alliance, they were called NpO. They quickly grew, but were few in number and strength at one point in time. You see, not all small alliances grow large, but there are some that do. When they do grow large, if you make enough people in that alliance angry at you, are they going to want to be your friends? Probably not. They might, but you're only decreasing your chances. You may not think this is a big deal, but in the grand scheme of things, if you don't have friends and allies, you'll end up dead at one point or another. It's called karma. Hopefully you've heard of it by now. Hopefully you won't underestimate it (even if some did blow the true meaning of what it is out of proportion). Best of luck to Little Big Alliance, hope to keep seeing you guys around.
  20. Let's call this grand alliance the New Pink Order.
