1. "Our foreign policy to begin with will be to develop friendly relations with our African neighbors. That is those neighbors who do not seek to impose a foreign belief system upon the native population of Africa. Those that do we'll politely ignore until such a time that we can no longer afford to ignore them due to their own belligerent actions. Our first internal priority will be a comprehensive building programme to upgrade the Sudanese infrastructure. Novak and UMS both did quite well in maintaining the roads, sewer, power, and such. However, there is work that needs to be done and we'll be doing it with all possible speed," replies Mr. Mbombe.
2. The Sudanese Republic, thus named by popular vote, is pleased to announce that elections have been held. The people have voted and the Honorable Thomas Mbombe has been elected the President of the Sudanse Republic for a term of six years. The Moderate Sudanese Party has secured the majority of the seats in our parliament and has vowed to work closely with the Honorable Mbombe in order to bring about a smooth transition from military rule to civilian self-government. Mr. Mbombe earlier remarked, "These are exciting times for the people of the Sudanese Republic. We couldn't have accomplished this without the hard work and support of the military lead by Mr. Denard. He's been a wonderful help and I look forward to working with him closely in the future to ensure the security and prosperity of the Sudanese Republic." Mr. Mbombe is available for questions for a limited time.
3. Classified to Mad Dog Bob Denard Basic Training is nearly complete for our recruits. We will be sending our soldiers on for advanced training in rapid order. For the most part the cadres for the battalions are forming up for duty. As of now we have 10 battalions, each 250 men strong. The rest of their numbers are in training or in the Kingdom of Cochin receiving advanced training. 1st through 5th Battalions have been tasked with Internal Security in and around Port Sudan. 6th through 10th Battalions have been tasked with Border Security. The majority of the vehicles are being given to 6th through 10th Battalions to assist in their wide ranging mission of securing the borders of Sudan as they exist now. Keep in mind our actual borders are much smaller than they appear on the map. The 6th Battalion is being organized into a purely Mechanized Battalion with the 7th through 10th being organized in a joint arms Battalion that hosts a combination of both Light Infantry and Mechanized units. 1st through 5th Battalions will be simple light infantry battalions at this time. Full numbers for the battalions will be reached ahead of schedule and stocks of mortars, heavy machine guns, and rocket launchers still need to be procured. To Whom it May Concern The Sudanese Republic is in need of the following: 82 MM mortars Rocket Launchers 50 Caliber Heavy Machine Guns 7.62 Squad Automatic Weapons .45 Caliber pistols Further, we seek a versatile patrol vehicle that is easy to maintain and easy to learn to use. We will require nearly 800 of the vehicles for use by our internal security forces.
4. "I bet you have seen some real never before seen sort of things out there," Dave comments and he thinks to himself for a minute. 'Could this be an opprotunity to jump off the Camino De Santiago completely and hit up some areas never really seen by most guide book writers?' he asks himself. He debates back and forth with himself for a few minutes and finally says, "I wish I could get back into some of those areas. My editor probably would pay top dollar for some fresh material. You wouldn't believe how many times the same worn out stuff has been submitted for publication." With that said he takes up his cup of coffee and takes another drink as he enjoys the rich taste of the Spanish blend. Quite good all in all and much better than some of the other coffee he's drank over the years.
5. You sir are going to need to do quite the bit of updating.
6. Dave smiles and takes out a map after he pushes aside his plate. The map, a personal item he carries with him in a plastic pouch, is marked with all the different countries he has traveled in. It clearly shows most of Europe, parts of Asia, parts of Africa, and most of South America as places he has visited. He looks at Jebediah and says, "I've visited about 52 countries so far," and leans back to let him see the various places he has visited. He looks at Jebediah more carefully and decides to ask, "So what do you do around these parts?"
7. Or a carefully organized plot to lead two parties into a war now that Viniland is out of the picture. Personally, over here in Sudan we are cheering for a huge bloodbath of what appears a slew of colonial powers. Yes, a high body count between Tahoe and Pacifica would suit us just fine. Let Imperialist kill Imperialist for a change.
8. Classified Report to Mad Dog Bob Denard Training is proceeding at a rapid pace. We've managed to recruit, house, and equip the full complements of our infantry battalions. Those receiving training inside the Kingdom of Cochin will begin integration into their new units in a month or two depending upon their specialization. Until then the training of the infantry in their Mechanized Infantry and Light Infantry roles will proceed as planned. Mortars and recoilless rifles are still needed, but the discovery of two large training centers for what appear to be terrorist operations have been added to our ranks. The former personnel from the Sudanese Freedom Front have agreed to join as the cadres of our Special Forces Groups. They are now undergoing basic training to retrain them from terror operations to Special Forces Operations. Once they've completed the Advanced Light Infantry Course, Medic School, and Demolitions school they will be organized into their formal groups. A small cadre of snipers has been organized into a sniper school. Our first group of students will be reporting for training upon completion of Mechanized Infantry School or Advanced Light Infantry school. Either groups has a need for sniper support in tactical operations. Our biggest problem is providing for the training staff of all the forming training centers. We hope that the men being trained in the Kingdom of Cochin will be up to the task of staffing these centers. The Advanced Infantry School is well staffed due to the African Legion trainers. However, we are short on skilled staff for the NCO/Officer schools and other specialization schools. However, to date we have: Basic Infantry School- Fully Staffed Advanced Light Infantry School- Fully Staffed Mechanized Infantry School- 45% Combat Medic School- 25 % Heavy Weapons School- 75% Combat Logistics School - 35% NCO School- 12 % Combat Officer School - 4 % For now we are doing what we can with the resources we have. Until we get more trained staff from the Kingdom of Cochin we'll be short handed. However, the actual training of of the Light Infantry and Mechanized Units will proceed as planned. They just won't be as well supported as they need to be until the numbers can be rectified in the training programs. Sudan Rebuilding Progress Report Work on the Port Sudan infrastructure has been proceeding as planned. Water and sewer is nearly ready for use. Power and other services will take a few more weeks to get completely online. Luckily for us the Novak and UMS protectorate forces left things in fairly good order. Most of our work is untangling a few of the small technical foul ups that have risen up due to untrained Sudanese personnel replacing the trained technicians from Novak and UMS. Given more time we will rectify this problem.
9. For those of us who despise the treaty web this war is a godsend. I'm enjoying watching every single minute of it.

Surely a reason for a national holiday.
11. Mad Dog Bob Denard looks at a map in utter disbelief. He turns to an aide and says, "Are you sure they are claiming Tahoe isn't a Pacific nation?" "Well it seems to be the case sir," replies the aide. "Are you sure?" he asks again in total disbelief. "The discourse seems to indicate that there is a belief that Tahoe doesn't qualify as a Pacific nation," the aide replies a bit nervously. "Wow, tell you what, go get me another 1/5th of Jonny Walker Red Label and I'll write up a public statement after I finish it," Mad Dog Bob Denard snorts. From the Office of Mad Dog Bob Denard At first I was content heckling the nations of the Pacific and North America. Now I'm down right angry at all of you. I woke up with a rotten hang over to hear an aide of mine claiming that some blabbermouth is saying Tahoe with a huge coastline on the Pacific coast of North America is acting as some sort of Colonial power. Look people, We Africans know colonialism. We know it up close and personal. What Tahoe is doing is securing a speck of an island that is in their area of interest anyway. Saying Tahoe has no place in the Pacific is akin to admitting you have some sort mental problems or something. Tahoe, has every right to be in the Pacific as they share a huge coastline with the Pacific. These Jonny come lately Pacificans strike me as the left hand trying to hide what the right hand is really doing. Good luck Tahoe, and I still want to know if Midway is open to hunting. -Mad Dog Bob Denard
12. So a limited season on some of the larger game animals is open to discussion?
13.
The Alvonians arrived in a day, and the Sonder halftrack with the experimental Vulcan MMG-25 was loaded off the plane and transported - unloaded, of course - to the expo. A crate held the AWS-96 to be used, outfitted with a foregrip and holographic sight. Wit hthis, it held other, unloaded AWS-96s. In another crate were the pieces of the AWS Longshot, to be assembelled when the exhibit was set up. Until it was to be used in the demo, it would have a sign that says "DO NOT TOUCH - NOT FOR SALE" in not only German, but English, Spanish, French and any other languages that may be present there, even Pikalish. The halftrack would be waiting outside, with a trained Wehrmacht officer manning the gun, still unloaded.
Having heard the story of how a rep from Alvonia managed to shoot a dancing girl at another weapon's conference a few years back the Sudanese Representative steered well clear of this group. (ooc: lol, couldn't help but needle you a bit. )
14. Can hunters get special permission to hunt on Midway? I know you treehuggers and such are going to whine about this, but true conservation is best lead by those with an interest in maintaining it. Those of us who hunt, fish, and properly enjoy the great out of doors are more prone to have a vested interest in seeing the wildlife on Midway flourish, if only to give us more things to shoot at. - Mad Dog Bob Denard
15. "Do you have any information as to the source of the infection?" asks Halloway as he digs for information to satisfy a very specific order from the Air Marshall. The 'outburst' by Brian Hiley didn't come as a surprise to Halloway at all. In the past the elder Hiley has resorted to a minor to major eruption of his temper in the past to smooth the way for his aide. For all of Hiley's lack of charm and gruffness, he rarely acts in a manner that isn't calculated to gain him some sort of edge at a later point in time. Hiley also says, "On the the flight over the Air Marshall was wondering if any sort of transplant proceedures might help. His own doctor confirmed some years ago that he and Evan are a reasonably close match," as he hands over a DVD disk with Brian Hiley's medical records and most recent blood work.
16. "I'm just passing through myself," replies Dave. He takes a drink of his coffee and savors the taste before adding,"I have a deadline to meet with my editor, and he's being a total bear about it. I've been looking for unique sights along the Camino De Santiago that haven't been well covered in other guidebooks, but so far I haven't had much in the way of luck." With that being said Dave takes another bite of his breakfast and waits intently for a response from Jebidiah.
17. Halloway, not at all intimidated by either Sarah or Anthony, dismisses the two without a second thought and feels somewhat better for the fact that they have left the room. Why would he give a hoot about two people he's never served with on the field of battle? The only people he's ever depended on or ever will depend on are those who he has served on the sharp end with. His duty, as it always has been and always will be, is serving at the side Air Marshall Brian Hiley, Retired. He looks across at the doctor and asks, "If this treatment worked, what would be the odds for Evan recovering fully?"
18. The Sudanese Elections Committee extends the invitation for any interested governments who wish to observe the elections to be held next week. Presidential Candidates: Thomas Mbombe, Moderate Jenga D'len, Hanky Stomping Liberal Dan Savage, Conservative Congressional Candiates: George Washington Carver, Moderate Thomas Paine, Conservative Malcolm X, Hanky Stomping Liberal Port Sudan Mayor: Peter North Big John Studd Traci Lords
19. Government of Sudan Progress Report Port Sudan Revitalization Project: To rebuild the roads, power, sewer, and water systems of this primary population center. Work will be commencing shortly with the initial focus on water and sewer. Bulldozers, materials, piping, and other supplies have been gathered and positioned in three central depots. Workers have been hired and organized into teams as well. Work will begin on this project within the next day or two. Sudan Military Growth Project: The first dispatch of trainees to the Kingdom of Cochin was sent out last week. Basic training for the new recruits to fill the Sudanese Army have begun training with the equipment purchased from the Kingdom of Cochin and Artican vendors. The training staff comes primarily from the ranks of the African Legion Survivors and men who have significant military experience in other Military Organizations. The standards and procedures for the African Legion have been adopted for use of the Sudanese Army to prevent any potential confusion at a later date. The first Battalions are expected to be ready for service within six to eight months. Sudanese Governmental Elections: Elections will be held next week and polling stations have been opened with the the African Legion providing security. The Port Sudan Police are assisting as well to ensure that things go smoothly.
20.
"Ultimatums are soooo 09'"
The Government of Sudan finds themselves oddly in agreement with their African neighbors.
21. How things change... Wasn't long ago GATO, IAA, CSN, and USN stood shoulder to shoulder and sustained a beating and a half. I remember those days quite clearly, I fought as a war volunteer with the CSN. The horror that unfolded with the travesty heaped on GATO lead me to believe that you all were finished. This simply isn't the case as you boys are standing tall and showing the entire Planet Bob that you are back. Upwards and Onwards GATO.. -Jimjilbarf
22. The other Dave is waiting for Jebediah to respond in Spain.
23. "I wouldn't be able to comment on that, but I suspect if he's out in the hall stewing in his own juices he must care to some extent," replies Halloway who has long since given up trying to decipher the mercurial temperament of Air Marshall Brian Hiley. He looks back to the doctor and says, "I don't think it suits anyone here to be in contention in this matter. Mr. Hiley is well aware that risks are the norm in any medical procedure. Just explain it all to me and I'll explain it to him," as he hopes the doctor will go for it. Brian's Hiley's misogynistic tendencies are somewhat legendary in some circles. It would be far easier to explain all of it to him without having to deal with the older Hiley's pigheaded stubbornness in regards to women and their place in the world.
24. Dave walks into the Inn and looks around. Not much in the way of anything going on from what he can see, which is nice as he only wants a warm cup of coffee and breakfast. He sits down, makes an order, and waits quietly for his food to come. He takes out his digital camera, downloads his photos to his netbook, and does a bit of writing before he gets bored. Travel writing isn't his chosen field, but it is the field that supports his lifestyle. Still, writing the same general thing over and over again gets old. He wonders at times if he should branch out into something different. Maybe write an entire book? Anything is possible with the amount of free time he has at his disposal. Most people work forty hours a week, he works about four. Not bad when you consider the trade off of hovering on the very edge of perpetual poverty. His other motivation is he is getting tired of the constant backpacker's lifestyle. He can't even remember how many times he's woken up in a dorm room in a hostel filled with snoring drunk backpackers who haven't showered in over a week. It gets old quickly and Dave has taken to associating with the natives as often as he can to avoid the average gap year travelers. He looks around and finds that there only seems to be one other person sitting down, so out of the spirit of curiosity he calls over to the person, Jebediah, and asks,"You from around these parts? OOC: Charlamagne's post did not happen, carry on.
