1. Okay. I understand. But, now for the important question. Will it be in SE?
  2. How do you work out the gaining streaks? Do you look at all the data previously and manually calculate it?
  3.
You do make it sound like i wanted you guys to burn, no you guys told us "You would protect us.". Us on the AA defended the AA, tetris got attacked it turned into the problem with tetris getting attacked. Telling us that we need to go in and attack the guys that attacked you is wrong ask USMC for that or i can show you the message whichever you prefer. But in the end that truce was because i talked to zed and motor. I asked them to halt attacks on chozo, and hannibel i didn't care if they attacked me or not. They then extended it to not attacking me, so if you look at this i tried to get this resolved for the AA i am on. I had no power to do anything for the tetris AA that is your responsibility. In the end the situation is done and over with for the AA the protection is canceled that's the end of it. This is just going to go into a massive flame back and forth fest, therefor i'm done posting in the topic. As they say "There's two sides to every story and the victor in war get's to write that story." There is no victor in this war, the over all go of the rouges was to cause damage and to get under your skin obviously they were successful. The moral of this is, becareful on which land you tread.
I don't know you. But you sound like a spoilt child. They were protecting you, now they're not, get over it. At least you still have Ronin.
  4.
OP that is such a good story. I really can't pick "one part" that I liked the best. But if you were to hold a gun to my head, I would go with the part with the pictures. I just got off the phone with an armored truck company. They will be arriving in the morning to pick up my back up disk, which I just saved your story on to. There probably won't be much traffic, because I forwarded the police your story, and they agreed to escort the armored truck to its destination. At first the police chief didn't want to help, but then I guided his attention to the incredible pictures that you embedded along with your story. I mean, the story was good enough. But as soon as I saw the pictures that went along with it, I called my grandmother, who is blind and has Alzheimer's disease to tell her. As far as her doctors in the nursing home are concerned, she is cured of all her ailments now that she heard your cool story. She is actually preparing to run the Boston marathon this year now. Thank you OP.
It's getting old. Do you do Sinatra?

    621 days!

So you don't find any joy in this game so damn us to hell because some of us do? Don't really know what the point of your post was. Bye.
  6.
Last Active: Aug 20 2011 04:19 PM
Good job CN, that was close.
  7.
A new category needs to be added to the streaks: Longest streak without a streak. Record set by Sparta, length of 1 month. I consider it a personal achievement.
You're better off aiming for the most awesome alliance strength graphic award.
  8.
Turning this into a facebook app would be a tragedy unto itself. Creating a second CN that combined elements of SE and TE is basically my idea, revitalizing TE. I like it and it would probably be a success. If you want less strict rules, play Na tion_States. Way less strict, the mods play along with you, and it involves actual RP, unlike here.
Okay, first of all, that's an extremely subjective thing to say. I think it would be a disaster because most people are only here for the novelty of it actually existing still. Secondly, you can get warned for avoiding a word filter. You're absolutely right, there's very little role play here, which makes the OOC rule very outdated. But that's not the topic of conversation here, so I shouldn't have brought it up in the first place.
  9.
Besides letting people being able to load their flags not in the top 12. Institute an idea I mentioned long ago and incorporate more sounds into your game. The cruise missle sound still works in internet explorer...well I hope I don't use internet explorer. Why don't you immerse the user into the experience with a nuclear launch attack sound, tank sounds, navy sounds, army sounds, construction sounds, riots sounds, and so forth. It's these things that make a game an experience and not just another browser game.
Honestly? Hearing terrible sounds every time I do anything in a browser game with or without the ability to turn it off would ruin what little fun there is to have. I'm fairly confident that the majority of CN players don't play the browser part of the game to add to the "experience". It's something done while you can do other things; be it a conversation on IRC, or RL study/work etc. But sounds? Sure, that'll make everything better. The rules around here should be less harsh. Personally I don't do a lot wrong, because I can't be bothered getting agitated enough to warrant receiving warns. That being said, the idea that CN is a role play game is laughable at best, but if we the esteemed "ruler" of a, b, or c accidentally put our RL words in the wrong section of the forum we're warned. Get enough of them and you're banned from the main community of CN. Rules that detract from the idea of a game become counterproductive, overused power grabs; and that's not aimed at anyone, it's just a sad fact. There's nothing that can be done with the game itself. People will always get bored with whatever is infront of them after enough time. That's the nature of games; that's why you'll find the best games have a dynamic foundation. Interestingly enough, the fact that CN's history, culture and political participation continues to exist at all is an admirable quality. And that should be the focus of a revitalisation attempt. I couldn't care less if I had to walk away tomorrow and find something (read: anything) better to do with my time. I guarantee the online friendships will continue to exist on IRC, and there'll still be grudges and an us-against-them mentality. We just won't have the browser game. Big deal. I realise many people have differing opinions on this. Some would absolutely hate to walk away from what is an enthralling, point and click exercise. Take a look at the population of CN. It's main demograph is angry teens, angry students of higher level education, and angry why-are-you-playing-a-game-at-this-age adults. Angry being the key word here. It's the constant smirks when a new player does anything at all, and it's the blatant trolling of players that "no one" likes (and therefore they're fair game, once more blurring the lines of OOC and IC). That's what this community is predominantly made up of. And is that a nice place for new players to come into? Probably not, because they unpack their suitcases expecting to experience a role play game (you know, like it's touted from the moment you sign up), and when god-forbid they start playing the role of ruler and make their own alliance, they're hounded from the game as a newbie and therefore not important enough to waste time on. "Go join our established alliances and learn the game. Oh, and don't for the love of all that is right in this world role play. Unless you're one of these guys. Yeah we have a separate forum for that." It's a quaint little village we have here, and I think the funniest part is that most people think they're simply hilarious. You sure showed that new player that you've been here for a year longer. Tell them something they don't know? Like, perhaps, how to get in on this game that everyone says is dying.
  10.
OOC: As a gay person IRL, I'm offended by being associated with this. IC: What an awful theme, and it shall be safe to bet you will be just as unsuccessful with this bull@#$% excuse of an alliance.
I genuinely apologise for creating such a parallel. But this is... this is something else.
  11. This is the gayest announcement I've ever read. Good luck.
  12.
Remember, your ideas are more likely to have an impact if you post them in the Suggestion Box.
If by impact you mean a nice read on a Sunday afternoon, sure. We can have our coffee, musing over some new ideas, and then forget them like an old newspaper.
  13.
To add some context, that's 3.5% of population of alliances in the sanction race deleting/changing AAs. Now if we assume all of these are deletions (because I failed to see many new alliances cropping up over the last month and who the hell moves to NONE anyways) and apply the 3.5% member loss to the 17,342 current active nations that means we lost approximately a net of 629 players last month. Now for a bit of math. If you assume we will lose 3.5% of the population a month and use 17,971e^(-0.035x) you can chart the decline in population. After a one year period we will be under 12,000 members. And nearing 7,500 after two years. This does not assume there is a minimum number of players in the game cause some of those with a lot invested in will play till Kevin pulls the plug so there is likely some sort of decline flooring. So yeah, you heard it here first. Math predicting the end of Cybernations.
You're trying too hard. CN will die when it dies.
  14.
1) I create 100 multis and send the tech to everyone in my alliance (except me). Result: My alliance gets lots of tech and full slots forever. So do all other alliances. Old players grow at an even more accelerated rate, new players have further to catch up and no function (because we don't need them for our tech). 2) I make 10 multis, send them out to other alliances and spy on them. Result: So does everyone else. We all spy on each other and the political system dies. There, I broke the game twice without sending myself aid. The rule is a good one and nothing would improve by removing it.
1) Create a cap of 2 or 3 nations per IP 2) Ban AA related interaction with one IP. It's assumed if two people are on the one IP they know each other well enough to leave the other alone. These are simple fixes.
  15. Does this have every single AA? This is going to help raiders somewhat I feel...
  16.
NPO easily has the longest time in the #1 and MHA is probably held onto it the second longest
I figured they'd be the ones. Any idea how long?
  17. How long has MHA been #1? And how long was the longest reign in said position?
  18. Is it AcTi hunting season again? 4+ annoucements in four days. For our sake, I really hope your'e right. This had better be the last one.
  19.
It discourages very few people. Personally, I would abuse the $%&@ out of the system if it was changed, everyone else who needs tech would do the same. It would completely break the game. Don't believe the stories people make in the moderation forums about their "brother's nation." The only reason for having multiple nations on the same IP address is so that you can send yourself aid and trades.
There are ways to detect when two nations on an identical IP are interacting in the game; indeed they already use said ways. It wouldn't be too far fetched to refuse two IPs interacting together. It's an outdated, pointless rule now. But it won't change because it's been set in stone that it won't. There are simply ways around it.
  20. How about you comment on what he's saying rather than attacking the person? Rush is high gov't in TLR and was high gov't in Athens. Anyone with half a brain knows he has done his part into spicing things up. Attacking the person? I criticised the blog. I happen to respect Rush, and most of Athens; but if anyone at all is going to make a blog about complaining, I expec them to follow up on it rather than blaming others.
  21.
Yes really. This is the dime a dozen thread that suggests things that the admin do rather what this individual person do to fix the game. If you're not having fun, don't play. You won't be missed.
Yes. This belongs in this thread. Thankyou for being a nice example, today.
  22. Then those in power should do something, rather than complain. I'm sure that's been said at least 5 times above me but your entire blog/argument looks like a childish way of putting the blame on others again.
  23. Is it that time of year already?
