  1. All it does is show the kind of person you are.

I'm certainly not afraid of showing what kind of person I am.

I mean, to some people, church is an integral part of their faith, it's just something that's best to not laugh at or what have you. That's all.

Explain why. I'm not one of those mindless sheep that believe being 'politically correct' is a necessity. It's more fun to not worry about stepping on toes, let alone having my toes stepped on. Does it make you a better person if you get butthurt over words?

  2. I avoid the political scene altogether. I'm all-too conscious of what kind of people I'd be voting alongside, what a majority of their opinions are based upon, what kind of people go into politics in the first place, etc. I'm aware of the media and its influence over people. It's hard to say what percentage of voters actually make decisions based solely upon the facts rather than who puts out a better commercial.

...is like watching two scared 14-yr-olds try to figure out sex for the first time, it's terrible and funny.

What an unfortunate metaphor. Either you're comparing Anderson Cooper to something you have no experience with, or you've actually participated in watching 14 yr. olds have sex.

  3. You're making the assumption that everyone in the world is unable to follow a moral code. The guy who told the teacher was the brave one IMO, he actually stood up and said something and didn't let issue just get kicked under the table.

I'll have a tough time will I? All because people who can't act as mature adults don't want to "hang around with me"? Seems I'd be better off from where I see it. I shouldn't need to get them in trouble all the time, and if I was forced to do that then it'd just exacerbate this issue with society everyone has these days.

Oh, Ironfist...come on now. You just don't have adult priorities yet. Adults care about not causing a stir so that more people will hang out with them, not about their own views on ethics and morality. You'll know this once you graduate from middle school and become a 23 yr. old.

By the way, I must commend you on your eloquence. I never thought I'd find another middle-schooler on CN that has the eloquence of a family man in his mid-thirties. Kudos.

  4. Obviously there is a difference between your teachers and ours. 40k euros plus, 3 months off in the summer, christmas off, mid terms off, easter off. Starting at 9am and finished before 4pm. All in all about 5 months off per year and 40k - 50k euros to follow a cirriculum thats set out for you. In class they read from the book and give you a little homework.

Compare that to most other jobs with about a month of holidays per year, earlier start, later finish constant hourly, daily monitoring of your stats for much less money.

My wife is a teacher, and although there are plenty of teachers out there that do just as you said (follow curriculum with minimal effort), there are teachers out there like my wife that put a lot more into their teaching than just handing out homework and tests. Some people go into that profession because they really do like working with kids and making them better people. It's rare, but it does happen.

Also, holy crap...40k to 50k euros is an amazing salary for a teacher. Teachers in the U.S. would be lucky to make half of that!

  5. I'm not hiding my age and 23 years old, yet you insult my age first when you're obviously younger. You're probably middle school or high school I would guess from your viewpoints and posts, seems you don't have much knowledge to fall back on and mostly just throw insults and sarcasm around. If you think you're acting mature that only further proves you are very young and don't know how to act mature.

I'm going to chuckle at this and leave it at that.

  6. So you think everyone should be spying on each other and notifying authorites whenever anyone steps out of line and don't follow all the rules and regulations, I think I understand your point of view now. You favor a police state where nobody can trust each other, you consider those who would turn in their friends to please the state to be doing a noble deed. A twisted way of looking at things you have there, maybe when you reach adulthood your views will change after you've experienced life more.

Amazing how you're willing to put words in my mouth to make your arguments. It's also very clever to insult my age, as if you had any concept of how old I am. To any mature individual that happens upon this conversation, it'll be obvious to them which one of us is acting more juvenile.

  7. You still haven't explained why you think saving the answers on a cell phone rather than memorizing them is comparable to robbing someone's house, one has a clear victim and the other doesn't.

...and you still haven't acknowledged that you're assuming the 'answers were saved on the cell phone'. The victim in the cheating incident may be the entire class, depending on the method of grading used by the instructor.

It could be argued the person cheating is hurting themselves by not memorizing the material and risking getting in trouble if caught, but unlike with your theft scenario he isn't hurting anyone else.

    See above.

Its obvious though you aren't looking to make a clear argument or back up anything you say with reason, so responding to you is pretty pointless. If your just going to throw outrageous claims without backing any of them up as you describe how you imagine me, there is nothing for me to debate you on other than tell you you're wrong.

If I could inject reason and logic into your brain with a syringe, I would. Unfortunately, you're equivalent to a rubber ball. You're fun to play with for a limited time, but there's only so many things you can do with a rubber ball before giving up on expecting it to evolve into a duck. I pity you and those around you, and only hope that you're able to keep your thoughts in your head rather than inflicting them upon others.

  8. I'm not sure where you got that idea, but I'm going to assume you were that person in school that got picked on a lot for various reasons, one of the reasons being you betraying the trust of your classmates and not realizing that even most of the teachers face palm and can't stand those types of people.

...and that wouldn't be the first assumption you've made, as I've readily pointed out to you. Since you're unable to carry on the seemingly one-sided debate we've been having (you know, the one where I post a point and you neglect to post an actual counterpoint), I see you're now resorting to playing out juvenile scenarios in your head to make yourself feel better. Tsk tsk, good sir.
