What Penkala doesn't get:

The MVP

<Penkala> christ mvp

Since he seems so intent on using Christ's name, in vain albeit, then he should know this Bible verse:

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? Matthew 7:3

It's Sunday so quite fitting, I have Church soon anyways. Have a wonderful rest of the night.

The real reason TheMVP can't argue: He was weaned on the dumbest arguments in history, the "stuff people wrote in a book decades after the supposed Jesus lived, by people who were not alive when he was, is what we will consider to be gospel and you will abide by these laws"

as a non religious person, even I know it's in poor taste to laugh at someone else's beliefs. come on, there's no need for that.

As a non-religious person myself, even I know that laughing at someone for going to church is not the same as laughing at that persons beliefs.

With that being said... lol @ church.

The earliest manuscript of Caesar's Gaelic Wars is from 1,000 years after Ceasar lived.

The earliest Demosthenes manuscript is 1,200 years after he lived.

Plato? 1,300 years

Herodotus, also 1,300

Homer's Odyssey? 2,200 years.

The earliest manuscript from the New Testament is from the book of John, the Rylands Manuscript, and it dates to 125, 30 years after the book of John is accepted to have been written. So, if the problem is the amount of time that has passed between authorship and extant copies, I'm going to need you to go throw out Plato, the Greek dramatists, Caesar--well, why make a list. I just need you to throw out everything you've studied about the ancient world.

no one cares. ;)

All it does is show the kind of person you are. I mean, to some people, church is an integral part of their faith, it's just something that's best to not laugh at or what have you. That's all.

I'm certainly not afraid of showing what kind of person I am.

Explain why. I'm not one of those mindless sheep that believe being 'politically correct' is a necessity. It's more fun to not worry about stepping on toes, let alone having my toes stepped on. Does it make you a better person if you get butthurt over words?

It's about respect, not political correctness.

You earn respect. You aren't born with it. Participation in an activity that is a silly exercise in futility does not earn respect from me. Forcing your morals on others is a fine way to lose my respect, though, so if you are really concerned with 'respect', feel free to avoid playing verbal hall monitor.

Your right, you earn respect, and comments like virtually everything you've ever said are a good way not to earn respect.

I'm glad that your not afraid to show what kind of person you are, because its more then evident that your immature and unable to participate in any sort of 'big-boy discussion'. I've got no respect for you, and I think your probably the reason why so few people have any respect for GOONS.

But as long as you don't care...

I wasn't arguing with you, I'm not sure why you've decided to argue with me. I was merely stating my opinion, if you don't like it, that's fine, but I wasn't forcing my morals on anyone. I'm not the kind of person who would try to change another's opinion on a subject like religion, but I do think that a person's beliefs deserve to be respected no matter what they are.

Would you care to argue with me then? I'm not so sure you would win that one.

Should have posted it on Saturday.

You can't respect something you look down on as being silly, stupid, ignorant, etc. I think what you mean is put on a front and feign respect in a dishonest manner, that or merely making your statements neutral in this regard.

Oh, shut up you mewling little child. God, you can't even discuss the topic at hand and have to resort to more :(( GOONS :(( bull crap. Here's a tip: learn the differences between "you're" and "your", "then" and "than", and "its" and "it's". Once you're able to type like the 'big-boy' you claim to be, you come back and see me. Perhaps you'll earn some respect.
