  1. The point is they decided the peace terms were a better alternative to war. The peace terms we've been given don't fit that criteria. Period. End of discussion. Oh Godwin, you come too soon. What we have done isn't unique. We aren't the only ones to fight alliances, causing them to disband. We aren't the only ones who installed viceroys. And since when has Karma's official stance changed to support our disbandment and being run out of the Planet Bob for good? I take it you're now their official spokesperson since you have that inside scoop? If that's the case, why should we EVER feel inclined to bring our banks out, if it's now been stated that the purpose of Karma is to destroy us and make sure we never return. Besides, if you do exactly what you claim to punish us for, shouldn't you all take your leave as well? You post alot for a meaningless game, you know that right?
  2. Hey Rok, are you Tom Petty fans? Cause you're freefallin! Seriously though, who did you lose to have that big a number up there?
  3. OV was a much smaller alliance, so clearly we totally should have this all under control, right? You bring in allies to end a war FASTER. Yes, a large alliance can fight a smaller one and do heavy damage, but there's more pressure to end the war when there's more people involved. Not to mention that even small alliances can have big friends.
  4. You know, I always wondered this, and finally decided to ask: What's the flavour of KoolAid that Karma serves? We only get orange and fruit punch, and I'm hoping we can expand our selection.
  5. http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Biz-Spartan_War Result was destruction of the alliance, and another attack on an alliance of rerolls. Care to try again?
  6. I've held off because I'm not sure what to think about this. On the one hand, there's the calls for cooler heads, and then a couple of backhands to the NPO for good measure. Also, many members of the NPO have taken to lurking, as recently our presence has not been welcomed, and posts are drowned out rather quickly. I'll say that I appreciate the sentiment from Emperor Grub for good sense to prevail, and hope someday the rift between our alliances isn't so insurmountable. I believe someone on the side of Karma (could be wrong, I've read a lot of threads on here) pointed that out as a tactic to divide and conquer, by brokering peace deals individually, whittling down the alliances we're at war with. So in essence, I don't think that would work.
  7. I think it depends on the scale and situation. A single message, probably not. Focused efforts on an alliance, probably. Continued poaching after diplomats have been involved and the messaging has been requested to stop, that's now open hostility and encroaching on the sovereignty of another alliance, and could easily be taken as an act of war.
  8. I'll admit, I'm fairly new to following the politics of this world, but it seems to me anyone who was "going Karma from Day 1" wouldn't care much to be swayed back to the side of the NPO judging by how long people have been holding grudges.
  9. Vlad, if that was the case, maybe we shouldn't have nuked FOK nations, giving them giant mutated soldiers in the first place. Sir Paul, an excellent read
  10. Since the incidents in question happened before my time (or atleast before I knew enough about the wider world that is Planet Bob) I can only take the events at face value and say "touche". It's not something I would support, especially with proven allies, and given that my first real experience with throwing and buses had many allies of the NPO stepping backwards (yes, many came back, but we were still hit). However, my comment wasn't made in regards to Sparta as a whole, as Rex said that HE condones, not THEY condone.
  11. Here's hoping any and all of your allies (both in other alliances and in Sparta) can see you'd throw them under the bus for your own personal gain. I think the reason you dislike the talk of honor so much is because it's something you apparently (by your own admission) lack.
  12. What are you talking about? They're at war with Eurasia, because Eurasia is a threat to them. The forces of Eastasia will always be there to oppress all those who do not stand up and that's why they fight them. Now, why do you think a coup will actually solve anything? As I recall, (before my time, so I'm going by what's been said/written) there was a coup before and Ivan left. NPO was still seen as the bad guy. Why would the members of the Order even attempt to believe that a coup would do anything to benefit them, other than as desperate power struggle, which would only serve to further endanger the Order and all the member-states that comprise her. So, to answer your question, No.
  13. Has that officially been said anywhere? That nations would be monitored and only subject to war for the 14 days each, not 14 days as of the point that 90% of high NS nations and 90% of the alliance in general is in war mode? That says the clock will start for 14 days once that condition has been met, not kept individually. I could easily be wrong and have missed an official statement from Karma that what you're saying is true, there's been way too many posts on the topic of reps.
  14. Well, in a political simulator, being in a position politically to take advantage of a rivals mis-step is just that, playing a good game.
  15. To the people claiming "PR Stunt", I have to disagree. I considered making a similar post in response to the large number of "Just give up, there's nothing in the NPO for you now" messages received in my nation's inbox during the course of the war. I don't doubt that there is A sense of camaraderie in other alliances, and that there would be, in general, a very large overlap between different alliances. You'll find the people in charge, the people who are active, the people who just sort of float along with the tides of the alliances, the people who rock the boat until people start falling out. That's not something that's unique. What's unique is the specific experiences and people that are in those alliances. Some of you who've joined and left had poor experiences (or not good enough to get you to stay, I'm sure not 100% of people who've left hate the NPO), but there's clearly been other who've joined and found a group of people in the alliance that make us feel at home. Sure, other alliances have lots to offer and have a social group, but no other alliance has SilentJeune, sumguy, Wedge, BuddaKing, and Iceknave. There isn't another oppe in another alliance. It's the specifics that make people want to stay in an alliance. I'd like to see more posts like this (from people on both sides), not just the "You guys are #$$%&@!#". You may not agree with the group someone stands with, but you can (And should) go beyond the seething hate once in a while.
  16. Well, how about the flipside of that coin: The NPO wanted to be peacekeepers, and the easiest way is to make sure everyone is in line. How can there be wars if everyone is standing on the same side?
  17. Well, KARMA has stated they have no interest in altering the terms last time I checked, so finding "alternative solutions" may be a waste of time.
  18. You know, your signature says "in perpetual neutrality", right? Sure doesn't seem overly neutral. Now, on to the content: Are you saying that if all of the NPO picked up and changed their AA to "Order of Pacifica" everything would be squeaky clean?
  19. You know, I actually had written a post saying sarcastically that "Well, that just proves someone asked to, not that anyone did it", but decided that was too ridiculous to actually post, yet you do it for me. So, let's go with this. Golden Sabres gov said "Vote for these guys, they're pretty awesome", but nobody did, so clearly they're clear of all wrongdoing as per any agreements or imposed force (not getting into an argument about whether or not it was justified, because this was before my time so I don't know what happened and can only read many biased viewpoints). So, back on topic, they said it, but never did it, therefore are totally free and clear. Well, NPO said that all peace mode GATO nations must come out, or face ZI. That was never acted upon, so does that mean that all the NPO-GATO peacemode arguments are now void too? *Edit* Sorry Manwe, I started writing this before you posted your request to get back on topic. Hopefully the tying it back in helps.
  20. I believe that train became derailed, burst into flames and later the flames were put out by being smothered in horse feces somewhere around page 2. If not, then it was for sure careening out of control down the tracks towards a sharp bend by that point.
  21. You know, nobody is forcing you to read these posts and reply to them. For someone that wants the threads regarding the NPO's surrender terms to stop and fall away, you sure make a lot of noise in them.
  22. Well, good faith and two bucks will get you a nice cup of coffee...
  23. You mean enemies like Ragnorok that imposed a viceroy with Illuminati before NPO went to war with GATO? Or when they went to war against them again 2 months later and destroyed what was left of the alliance? Or their war against the New Eclipse Order that ran for a month until the alliance was defunct? Or when they imposed PZI on two members of Bushido? Or Veridian Entente in the Roman-Inertia War when they went to war against an alliance of 29 people, resulting in the destruction of the alliance? The VE that took tech reps from MK in the War of the Coalition? I do not contest that fair reps can be huge, but demanding the very nations who would be required to pay come out of peace mode to be pummelled for two weeks before hand only serves to be overly draconian.
  24. I also support the idea of "Start what you finish". So what if you're nation is pounded, we're in a time loop and everything resets rather quickly anyways.
  25. Let's have a good dirty fight. Plenty of hitting below the belt, and I expect atleast one ear to be bitten off.
