1. The Swedish Representative raised and lowered his glasses, and announced his decision... "We vote yes on the aforementioned observer status."
2. Valshannar surveyed the idea in his mind, and read through the Queen's future thoughts on naval warfare in the Kingdom. "It appears that the Queen has noticed this, and views such a thing as acceptable. However, she would also like to maintain a conventional fleet alongside this. One would be situated in the Baltic, and the other would be docked on the other half of our territory in Norway. Both fleets would contain a full detachment including, but not limited to: carriers, corvettes, battleships, cruisers, destroyers, LSTs, etc. What are your thoughts on this, honestly, sir? I view it as a bit sketchy honestly, but having a 'Grand Navy' would be something attainable for our nation."
3. The Swedish Provisional Government, under the authority of Queen Madeleine opts to purchase: - 3 $25,000,000 bonds
4. The HMS Östergötland and the civilian transport carrying supplies and personnel bound for the Federacy has docked in Boston Harbor. Kapten Bielke of the HMS Östergötland will be acting as both commander of the relief mission, and liason to the Kingdom of Sweden. Per his instructions, he began unloading the materials off the civilian transport and had the personnel prepared on stand-by. Communications from the Kingdom of Sweden were sent to both the Port Authority and the Government of the Federacy to let them know of the arrival of the vessels prior to them even docking, 15 minutes prior at most.
5. Valshanner shifted through the other files within the folder as the man spoke, paying attention regardless of his flipping. "So... from what it seems, the next priority is naval development. What would you suggest?"
6. Thomas Sjöberg let the bottom of his new recliner sink into the carpet. Leaning back, he took a puff from the cigarette he'd been lighting for the past minute. The return of some kind of order to Sweden had been viewed with salvation and glory to some, but he preferred the chaos as did some other obscure Swedish youths. Over time, a 'underground' had begun to form in Sweden. Illegal parties, and illegal activities played out among those who knew the of the 'underground' and were accepted into it. The underground had no command structure, no leadership, no particularly powerful players among it. Instead, it was a fragmented and disorganized section of the Swedish youth that simply enjoyed the thrill, and the chaos of living like the old days after democracy fell. Much of the younger generation in Sweden didn't take to the strange and lewd activities that the underground knew to be it's calling, but Sjöberg was among that minority of sorts. The cigarette he was smoking let it's special kick in, and the bit of LSD laced in began to give him the tingling sensation and hallucinations of grandeur he'd been waiting for. He didn't go into a typical convenience store for this packs of smokes, no, he went straight to his friends in the underground so that he could get the fix he got every afternoon after work. Work. He hated that word, but it was the only way to get around in the world. Without money, an individual in society simply ceased to exist as a functioning human being and was looked upon as 'trash', eventually becoming a homeless beggar doing whatever the man or the rich told him to get by and make end's meet. It disgusted him, and some of his secret friends would be inclined to agree. In his bedroom, as he was now, he felt totally at peace. Away from his parents, and the rest of the two-dimensional people he knew at school, he could be himself. If his school friends, the see-through glass characters they were, could see him now... they'd be more than freaked out, hell, they'd be shocked and began taking active like the conservative and liberal lapdogs they were. Screw them, I'm myself, why can't I do whatever the f**ck I want? That mindset was what kept him and the underground going. Fueled. Alive. Like a never-ending machine that continued operating no matter what kind of crackdown the cops instated. Where one club fell, another just popped up. When a hang-out spot was placed off-limits, another one soon seeped it's way into the know. When a 'convicted drug dealer' was arrested, one of his background apprentices just propped himself up and took his place. The underground, while disorganized, didn't see it as a weakness. It was a strength. What the police couldn't figure out was how it kept springing up, even with a minority among the population. But hey, they played to live dangerous. Finishing the last hit off his LCD-laced cigarette, he made his way down to the local rave club 'Likvidation', where he was set to meet up with a couple of friends tonight. He snickered as he flicked the last hot coals off the cigarette, and tried to toss it away casually in the trash basket in the corner. A miss. He didn't care, his room was a mess, and he liked it. It was another form of his rebellion, so why change it? He got up out of his slumped and relaxed position, and made his way down to his 1992 Nissan 240SX parked away in the driveway. The black decals on the side, and the red neon glow severed to make him look like a poser to the world, but he didn't care. Not even the poser-like spoiler mattered to him, he only thought that it looked cool and didn't give a damn what the rest of the world thought. He was cool with the underground? What else mattered in this broken world? As the car sped out of the driveway, he watched the lights pass by with different colors thanks to his LSD-induced trance. Driving on drugs wasn't the easiest thing he'd ever tried to do, but after a couple of times he was used to it. Parking in one of the courtyard slots about a block way from the club, he exited the car and slammed the door on the way out. The door almost caught his baggy, ripped jeans, but missed by a quarter. Letting himself rise out of the seat still made them slip a little though. He tightened the belt a little further, but not enough to look like a conformist pig, or a order-loving piece of trash. He let his walk, with a little slide, drag him over to the club casually. A walk that would have taken a normal, working human only 5 minutes took him 7. Maybe the couple of times he stopped to enjoy the weird delusions the LSD decided to let him enjoy made the difference? Who knew. He was in-front of the club, and that's all that mattered. Tonight would be pretty freakin' crazy, but he couldn't imagine just how crazy it'd turn out to be. Putting on a half-assed smile and he spotted his real friends, his underground 'mates', he raised his hand and let out a small gesture of acknowledgement, 'Yo.'
7. As per the request of the Federacy, a civilian transport took off from the ports of Stockholm and made it's way to Boston. On the ship would be heavy-duty tarps alongside personnel trained in radioactive clean-up and recovery. Although the assistance of the Røde Kors was not officially marked on the inventory and personnel sheets, a couple of personnel were onboard the transport just in case. The long journey would take several hours, and the transport would be protected by the distinguished destroyer HMS Östergötland. If neccessary, the Flygvapnet would be on call, and control towers across the nation alongside the headquarters of Sweden's Air Force would be prepared to call nations within the Treaty of Zurich to increase the distance capabilities of the Air Force's JAS 39's. They would only be called in case of emergency, however, such as a rogue naval or air attack. So the two vessels set sail across the Baltic sea, and into the Atlantic... the journey began for the nation's first Humanitarian mission, as well as it's first active naval mission involving military vessels.
8. "Should humanitarian aid, or radioactive cleanup materials and/or crews be neccessary, Sweden is willing to assist in any manner available. Until further notice, the Røde Kors (Red Cross) of Sweden is on standby. Oh, and we congratulate the Federacy on it's independence and wish it the best. A bottle of Koskenkorva has been delivered to your government's headquarters for celebration. Cheers." - Madeleine I, Drottning (Queen) av Sverige
9. Ruler: Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Valliere (Short Name: Louise I de Randgriz) Nation Name: Most Serene Principality of Gallia Climate: mostly grassland, some arid, some tundra Forces: 790,000 troops, 2,500 tanks, 1,150 fighter jets and bombers Group: Neutral Population: 3.7 million Government Type: Constitutional Monarchy. Gallia is historically led by the Randgriz line of monarchs dating back centuries ago. Alongside the imperial family, the Parlement Gallois acts as the legislative body of the Principality and represents the interests and wellbeing of the people, particularly in moving up new potential laws and policy decisions to the Imperial House that can effect the nation as a whole. Capital: Randgriz (Population 754,000) Foreign Policy: The traditional policies of the Gallian Principality have been marked with a sort of 'armed neutrality' by maintaining a military that relies on both conventional troops and conscripted militia, yet remaining out of conflicts and usually opting to choose neither side in a war. Even though they are regarded as a peaceful people, a dangerous new policy turn is taking place in the nation. Parties within the Parlement which formerly forgoed any radical speech in the interest of the nation have now risen up to speak for themselves. With division in the Parlement, and a monarch who is confused as to which side represents her people, anything goes at this point.
10. Sweden finds observer status acceptable.
11. Valshannar quietly listened to the man speak, and then pulled one of the many blueprints that were within the folder he'd been given. Looking over it himself for a moment rather than presenting it right away, it appeared to be a design for a new form of aircraft that would replace a good deal of the JAS 39 Gripen's that the Flygvapnet had in stock. The aircraft (although he was no engineer, or aerospace technician of any sort) looked much more advanced than the JAS 39, which was now beginning to age. After surveying it enough to his liking, he presented it to the general in front of him and read from the text inside the folder. "Herr General, it is with pleasure that I introduce to you our nation's first endeavour into the future. This is the JAS 44 'Vampyr', a replacement for our aging fighter, the JAS 39 Gripen. The following specifications are what Her Majesty wanted me to present you with to see if such an endeavour, and/or improvements to this endeavour are possible. "What do you think, Herr General?" He let out a smile and was curious to see what the General would say next.
12. **Private** "Your majesty, it appears that the rowdy Prussians have once again birthed themselves on this Earth." "We shant forget the wounds of the past, certainly, and I believe an eye shall be kept on them" "So you do recall their part in the downfall of our former Empire, do you, your Majesty?" "Nobody in our Kingdom shall ever forget such humiliation. Other than that, release a public broadcast of recognition... for now" "As you wish, Ma'am." **Public** The Kingdom of Sweden welcomes Prussia to the world stage.

One of the principles that the new regime, and the royal family has viewed as central to our long-term goals is Scandinavianism. The nationalist tendencies of both the Norwegian and Swedish people following the collapse of the previously existent democratic has shown itself here, and we will proudly welcome them to our family once more. Consider the transfer of these Norwegian territories to rule under the Swedish crown, accepted. I will send a small contingent of forces to the area in question to promote Swedish law, and restore operations in the area to a civil level.
14. Valshannar took a few moments to get an idea of where he was, and whom he was talking to. He felt like he'd been on operating on some half-assed drone mode for the past couple of minutes, and didn't really understand his surroundings when he came out of it. Surveying the room, he could recall what was occurring and to some extent what he was doing here. Locating an interesting folder held snuggly in his left armpit, he read through the files once more. The full extent of what he was doing for the Queen now became apparent. He was to serve a consultant and representative of the people of Sweden, and it's government. His actual representation was in order to study Germanic Union technology, along with the leading the way for the creation of a stronger, and more advanced Swedish military. Brushing off the collar-area of his outfit, which had been given to him by the queen as well, he coughed, and then began to respond to the man in front of him. "Pleasure to meet you, sir. I am Karl Valshannar, representative of the Swedish Crown and people. What you say is true. From what I have been briefed, my goal here is to discuss matters of defense with you in order to further the Swedish military and increase it's potential. By taking the stock technology we've been given, and using our ties and technological levels to come up with advanced designs for weapons, aircraft, and vehicles, we hope to accomplish something great on this god-forsaken island." Karl stumbled over trying to pronounced the island's name at times, and refrained from saying it. His distaste for the location he'd been dispatched grew all the more apparent with his behavior, especially around the Germanic Union's Major General. He almost seemed hurried, like he wanted to get off the damned place and go back home to his 'god-forsaken island'. Whatever time he'd be here, he realized he'd need to learn to suppress that. He'd volunteered, and this is what he was given. Farming back on Götland didn't hold a candle to the opportunities for entertainment and advancement that lied with this.
15. Signed for Sweden, Madeleine I, Drottning av Sverige Provisional Government av Sverige
16. With due consideration from the Queen, and a short debate among members of the provisional government, Sweden applies for membership in this treaty.
17. Karl Valshannar had been dispatched by the Queen for a 'special assignment'. Never before in his life had a cigarette tasted so good as now. Given a set of royal orders, and a general map of the destination to the where he was headed, he could feel the tension that had been resting in his upper back let itself loose. He wished he could be sitting back home in Gotland, but when the royal family required a 'messenger boy' to take care of a special assignment, he let the fervor for adventure and national pride within him get the best of him. He was feeling rather stupid now, but their was nothing he could do about it, except function as a 'messenger boy' now. Although the packet contained information on the kind of meeting he'd be attending, it didn't list any specifics, not even a location. The window of the private plane that was transporting him was his only indicator as to where he was, and it was a poor one, regardless. The only thing he was sure of was that he'd never seen the scenery beneath him, although it looked similar to home. Hell, for all he knew, the assignment could involve him circling around Gotland until he reached some kind of Guinness Record. Much to his interest, however, the plane began to descend towards what appeared to be a landing strip that was hidden underneath a pool of fog. He could only fathom what he was getting involved in at the appearance of a Germanic Union flag some distance down the flight-line. He was set to play an important role in Sweden's story.
18. The several airports that served inbound and outbound civil air traffic from and to Stockholm weren't nearly as busy as they had been in the past. The arrival of foreign delegates was rumored to have a small effect on the amount of civilians traveling to and from destinations out of Stockholm, but no conclusive evidence supported the theory. The airports, operating at a minimal capacity, would be prepared to service and direct the first foreign visitors to set foot on the terriory of the re-birthed Kingdom of Sweden. Outside of the airport, Swedish flags hung from streetlamps and a fine coating of white powder, snow, rested on the ground, some still gradually floating towards the earth from the sky. Blue and yellow lights would be streamed across the town, especially in civil and royal government buildings within the capital. Citizens of the Swedish nation felt a joyous pride since the rebirth of their nation. The nationalistic pride they had longed to set forth from their souls had finally sprung loose like a broken jack-in-the-box following the declaration. Once it rose, it would take some time to settle and for things to return to a state of what most politicians would refer to as a 'normal activity'. Limousines and other transportations vehicles would escort the foreign delegates to Stockholm Palace, and upon arrival, they would be cleared by the Royal Guards which stood watch over the front gates and other marked places of the premises. As the limos passed down the streets of Stockholm, by buildings both new and old, about a dozen Flygvapnet JAS-39 Gripen's flew overhead at normal cruising speed, taking part in an exercise to get the new Swedish military up to par with it's European brethren. The gate to the palace, coated here and there with small amounts of thin snow, opened before the delegates. The limousines that had escorted them from one of the largest airports in the country had brought them here, the center of the celebrations. Waiting inside was the Queen, and several other members of the royal family, and the provisional government. The sparklings lights that glistened from the windows of the Palace beckoned as a sign of entry. The ball was about to begin.
19. The former 'Norsvea' (the Swedish portion) now under German control should be marked as Sweden. Thanks.
20. Civil & State Flag of the Kingdom of Sweden In order to strengthen relations with nations throughout Europe and the world, the Queen is proud to announce the first ever Swedish Royal Ball. Representatives, dignitaries, and government officials from any nation are invited to attend the celebration, which will be accompanied by much pomp and circumstance across the country, particularly in the royal capital of Stockholm. Any foreign jet or transportation vehicle carrying high-value personnel from visiting nations (representatives, dignitaries, government officials) are required to show some form of identification to airport staff upon landing, and to notify the control tower of special clearance and visiting status during landing. Military aircraft or vehicles accompanying foreign personnel will be subject to search by Dragoons at the airport, and Royal Guards at Stockholm Palace. In order to ensure the security of foreign personnel, Saab JAS Gripen 39's of the Flygvapnet (Swedish Air Force) will be flying sorties above all civilian airports in the capital. Special zones at each airport within the capital will be designated for the landing of foreign aircraft carrying high-value individuals from visiting nations. Any nation that wishes to open up ties with our nation, strengthen ties with our nation, or visit the Swedish Kingdom and celebrate the return of it's independence is encouraged to visit. The provisional government of Sweden, and the Queen wish to, henceforth, welcome visitors with open arms!

By the grace of her majesty, Queen (Drottning) Madeleine of the House of Bernadotte, heir to the royal throne of the nation, this act is made into law. Through agreements with the Germanic Union, henceforth localized as the Germanisk Förbund, and the the Kingdom of Sweden, henceforth localized as the Konungariket Sverige, the wishes of the Swedish Royal House and the nationalist ambitions of it's people are realized on this day. Leading up to the meeting which preceeded this agreement and the declaration of Sweden's national independence, our nation experienced turmoil brought forth by struggles to enact a strong democratic system. The failures of this system have not gone unnoticed, and the nation has thus learned from it's past. By enacting a just, fair, and strong monarchy, the goal of bringing a strong central government with which to rule the nation has been met. In order, however, to allow the people of the nation to maintain a degree of say within their government, and to allow a level of democracy, although lesser than before, to flourish underneath this system, the re-creation of the Sveriges Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) is hereby announced. Within the coming weeks, elections for this newly-returned institution shall occur. Until this time, and forever should the blue-and-yellow fly in the land of Sweden, Hagel Sverige! Along with this declaration, the following is announced:
The Baltic Treatise Mutual Defense Pact between the Germanic Union and the Kingdom of Sweden Preamble: In the interests of European brotherhood, the Germanic Union and the Kingdom of Sweden come forward to sign this treaty. By taking this first step towards a era of optimism between one another, these two nations look forward to seeking a bond that shall remain unmatched in the years to come beyond the signing of this treaty. Article I: Non-Aggression Sweden and Germany shall not engage in any hostile action against one another including: internal subversion, espionage, military force, or financial/material aid. Article II: Conduct The following signatories shall remain good-mannered towards one another, and shall maintain a healthy and professional relationship at all times. Article III: Assistance Should either signatory find itself faced with an act of aggression by a third-party, the other signatory is opted to engage the third-party. Article IV: Intelligence Should vital information, relative to politics or defense, find it's way into the hands of one of the signatories, sharing said information is deemed a necessity. Article V: Exchange Both nations agree to maintain a healthy trading relationship, and when neccessary, to exchange resources with one-another. Article VI: Cancellation Should either signatory nation find itself to be in favor of removing themselves from this treaty, they have 48 hours to notify the other signatory. After the 48-hour grace period has passed, this treaty is considered null and void. Signed for the Konungariket Sverige, Drottning Madeleine The Provisional Government of Sweden Signed for the Germanisk Förbund, Lady von Glücksburg Ratified by the Althing
22. "Anarchy is something I look forward to preventing at every cornerstone it may arise from. Every governmental system is fundamentally flawed, and humans are naturally easy to corrupt. It's just in our nature. However, I at least understand this much and try to avoid it at every given opportunity. I look forward to strengthening the crown while maintaining the facade of democracy. It may not actually be a facade, but until it becomes concrete and shows to be working without major flaws, it's almost as if it is such, anyways. I do admit Ma'am, our conversation thus far has been pleasant. You have proven, in my eyes, to be a honest representative of the German state. As such, I can tell that you truly wish to see my country revived, or that your nation truly wishes it to exist. Either way, I view this with a very positive glance and wish to carry forward from here. Allow me to commend your efforts, and accept your proposals, not as Crown Princess Madeleine, however. I hereby accept your proposals, rather, as the head of the House of Bernadotte, or on an even larger scale set for the future, Drottnig Madeleine of the Konungariket Sverige." She smiled, looking forward to the response from Ingrid. The coffee, slowly becoming lukewarm at this point, would have to hold her patience in the meantime.
23. Madeleine sat quietly and listened to what Ingrid had to said, entranced further by her understanding of Swedish. She took the coffee that had been placed on the table beside her, and took a single sip before returning it to it's tray. "I was a little concerned at first as to why you contacted my house, but now I feel a little more comfortable. What you say is true, and your words ring with a sense of truth to them as well. I have a feeling that we can cooperate on this matter, Miss Ingrid. On the matter of Sweden... the country has been left in an almost anarchistic state as of the last couple of years. The people have been indecisive and pondered many methods of going about a nation-state, none of which has proven to be the 'right' way for us, at least not yet. However, the time is right for a return of the blue and yellow Nordic Cross, albeit in a more traditional and noble fashion. My people are finally within the right kind of mindset that they've lacked these many past years. They are nationalistic as ever, and are raging in a fervor because of it. The return of a monarchistic system is only natural as such. Success can only be found in such a system at this point, as democracy has only proven to fail us, and the few and far between false nobles of the past have turned their tails like cowardly wolves and run. What I envision for my beloved Sweden is something of a grand, yet traditional scale. I wish to see the monarchy and the crown restored. I do not wish to eliminate democracy from the system, however, and will allow a congress of some sort which the people are free to hold elections for. If such an endeavor fails, I would take the only logical path and dissolve it, giving way to an absolute monarchy as many nations in the past and even some in the present practice. As for the representation of the nobility at this meeting, I'm the only one who had the courage to come forth today." She waited for Ingrid to speak, curious to hear her response.
24. Princess Madeleine's noble blood, amid much of the remaining Swedish nobility, remained on touchy ground in Sweden itself. The Swedes had opted out of a monarchy in favor of a democracy in the past, only to watch the attempt bumble and fail, and give way for annexation by the Norwegians. Many of the aristocracy and nobility viewed the westernized democratic attempts as 'foolish' for those who considered themselves part of the bureaucracy at the time. Rather than taking any definitive action to change Sweden from this course, the nobles had made the mistake of letting it continue as it appeared to be 'what the people wanted'. Princess Madeleine now saw that as a horrible mistake, as did much of the other nobility. There had not been action taken by the nobles, and Sweden paid for it. Thinking of the past, and the idleness of her brothers and sisters and among them herself, made her upset. In some occasions, it even brought her to tears. However the past had gone, an opportunity had presented itself. She felt the ridges of the envelope that she had received, and lightly rubbed the gold-lining. The note inside was an official notice from the German government from an aristocrat within their nation, offering a meeting. The remaining details seemed to be absent beyond that. While she was a bit sketchy of the contents, she was willing to take the risk to meet with this noble. The collapse of Sweden had ignited a flame in the hearts of the Swedish commonfolk and the nobility that hadn't been seen in ages. The spark of nationalism that once again existed put a smile on Princess Madeleine's face. Despite the farces of Sweden's past, a chance to correct the course of her beloved nation, if their ever was a time, existed now. Meeting with this noble from Germany could prove to be far more interesting than she thought. With light, proper steps she walked towards the small palace that had been chosen as the place of meeting. A guard in familiar armor, that of the German Einherjar, stood by the entryway. Showing him the letter, and bowing respectfully, she made her way past the guard and into the room. Upon entering the room, she noticed a single woman sitting on a couch in the center-left of the room. Making her way over to the woman, she chose the nearest seating to her. "Allow me to introduce myself, Ma'am, as Crown Princess Madeleine. It's absolutely lovely to meet you."
