Jerdge, I almost read this announcement as an open invitation for everyone on Bob to attack GPA since you won't enter the fog? So if the war did come to your doorstep you would all delete to avoid entering to defend yourself and "stay out of the fog"? The way this post was worded was almost pacifistic / apathetic rather than the neutral neutrality with a thin veil of "keep this off our lawn cause we won't tolerate trespassing".

Joshing you a bit, but c'mon.

Whenever you people find yourselves in the fog of war there's, always, at least one fact you can take for granted: the GPA will not get herself involved into it.

I worded it neutral: the GPA won't get involved in wars. Of course others can attack the GPA, as has happened multiple times, and the GPA will defend herself at her best.

The GPA has never been pacifist, just peaceful.

No its not.  If you think this is unique you have seen nothing.  We have protectorates attack the allies of the alliance that they are protecting, blocs enter and leave in a couple days, alliances ignore MADPS and follow PIATs into the other side, preemptive attacks, stupid alliances that raid others for no reason, alliances attack the wrong alliance on accident, Alliances that have ignored blocs to enter offensively on an ODP, and bloc called CDT that never fought on the same side of any war and far crazier things.   So now that you are done looking like an idiot maybe go read up on your history.  Silly noob.

Hey I thought you were pretty new here.

If FranzJosef shows back up to terrorize low-ranked nations I'm going to have to check my calendar.

I had to check my calendar when I saw your posts.
What's next, a Walford appearance? Doitzel?

(Too bad for the ones we know can't show up again though.)

It's called being social you silly old person ❤️

When Facebook was new people were telling me to subscribe so that I could get in touch again with the people I had lost contact with, to which I invariably replied that I had lost contact with said people for a reason. Go figure...

Yeah. Admittedly I used little IRC as well (and discord is undeniably easier and better).

    Manually?

There is nobody in range even with selling some infra. I would need to sell almost all of the infra to get to range of like 1 target. And I'm nowhere near the top ranges of even my own alliance.

You have one war thus maybe my advice is obsolete... but it may help someone else.

If you need to sell infra to attack those you want to attack, just do it. You probably have a huge treasury (you should, at least), you'll be able to buy back after the war. What's the point of keeping money you will never spend, if it prevents you from reaching your goals?

By selling down, getting in range and fighting you may shred enough NS to get in range of further other nations, thereby breaking your isolation for good.

If you want more conflict in general you have many options as well: join a less connected alliance or go solo, conspire to cause a conflict within the current hegemonic faction, sell land and/or ship tech away, reroll. These off the top of my head.

I'm neutral about hurt feelings, so, well...

I do not get the Herogasm reference.  It's a comic book or am I totally off the mark?

The Amazon's adaptation of the graphic novel. To condense it in a few words (probably doing it some injustice), it's super heroes porn.

AFAIK it aired when the war started.

I think it's a terrible name for this war as there's no link or parallelism with CN stuff, many of those supporting it probably do so mostly because they feel it's provocative and/or inappropriate.

(And yes, I know that some material related to it has been discord'd, but that was after the fact, so to speak.)

(I'll here go out on a limb to say that, to me, it very much feels like something that's as old as - at least - the Mushroom Kingdom's subculture: attempts to be "controversial" that, unknowingly, materialize in the form of conformism and bigotry. Wannabe anti conformism, in short.)

This can't be right. You're meant to declare on CCC and/or VE.

    This made me chuckle. 😅

Historically the GPA has always had something like a soft spot for VE, and there hasn't been the slightest trace of an issue with the CCC, ever. Tough choice. If I bothered to fire up my PC I might send both of them some old fashioned flower pr0n, but it's highly unlikely. (I almost never turn it on anymore, and I'm on vacancy at the beach, anyway.)

What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?

In my case it was to retire, which I ended up didn't quite doing (not as I had imagined it, anyway), although by now I can say it's been a slow descent into minimal activity.

As far as I can tell, for most it's a preference for building stuff rather than blowing it up.

As a personal note I'll add that I've been born with a Heart of Gold full of love for everyone. I consider it a duty to love at least twice a day rogues and attackers too (I usually do it before and after nuking them).

It's amazing to see you back here, ES, do you plan to actually stay?

  8. Hello everyone.

There's been some outside speculation about the GPA stance on the current <insert name here> (global) war. Of course, after sixteen years of persistent and consistent, strict neutrality, inside the GPA there's absolutely no doubt on our stance on such situations. They do regard us - we too are part of this world, after all - they are our business too, as armed conflict among our neighbors, sometimes our friends, can't leave us indifferent. Those of us that still pay attention to anything are watching this situation.

Eons ago our founding fathers and mothers firmly rooted the Agency's culture in political and military neutrality. Our foreign affairs are built on our ancient, and still very relevant and important (to us, at least) Declaration of Neutrality.

Whenever you people find yourselves in the fog of war there's, always, at least one fact you can take for granted: the GPA will not get herself involved into it.

This is the case, too. The GPA is and will remain neutral throughout this conflict.

I extend my personal best wishes to everyone involved. Keep it funny, keep it light, have a good time.

I mean those lyrics certainly read like some horrendous Vogon poetry style chaos magick incantation. Godspleen to you!

While certainly bad - and I mean actually good as in actually really bad - those lyrics can't by any stretch of imagination compete with true Vogon poetry.

dude you are totally right, for a nation with infra? It is nothing much at all....but omg the rogues? 3 mil a day covers way more than my current bills so it helps keep me in nukes too. I am not going rogue right now but I am well prepared when I do lmao

    :D

Of course you're right, I was addressing the joke about it being something peaceful developed nations could be envious of. (Although, optimization maniacs...)

If I can lend an opinion, make your choices and stick to them even when it means to be labelled a rogue, but don't ever go "proper" rogue. It's been overused since at least 2008. Be original, be you.

With all that money, GPA turns aggro right?

    Congrats @Lyanna Mormont!

    Way behind you!

I'm not fond of having to point it out in a thread in which someone displays their satisfaction for having them, but 3 millions per day is not that much for a well developed nation, it isn't a game changer.

(I for one will never get to spend all the money I have in the treasury.)

Good for Lyanna and whoever else will get there (me included).

    No worries though.

Like I said prior, the game is what you want and get out of it.

Congrats on waking up once a day and logging into a game

I don't get your attitude: she's evidently happy of it and her time is hers to spend, why do you care that much?

Maybe it's just spending time in a silly game, it's still infinitely better than trying (and failing) to mock another player for it.
