I to am saddened by the recent course the Mushroom Kingdom and friends have taken.

I do hope when they have had their fun that NPO is let off with white peace and nothing worse.

I would hope so too. Even though I do bring up NPO's past a lot....I do think they have paid for their "sins."

I do remember the lengths that they would go to to keep an alliance down actually, and I know of what Doomhouse has already said they'd do to the alliances they swore to never become. You're looking at everything through a very narrow window, seeing only what you want to see.

If you honestly believed that Pacifica and the Hegemony was wrong and that Cybernations shouldn't be run like that, then you shouldn't hold any respect to Doomhouse.

Who said anything about Doomhouse? I realize that alliances exist outside of the blocs they occupy. Those are the entities I respect.

It's a cycle: whoever is ambitious and aggressive enough to become the new "hegemonic alliance" will eventually start rolling other alliances that threaten its power. This has only happened twice, so it might just be a coincidence, but it would make sense.

With this disappointment I will not do as others have and immediately switch sides and make them my enemy like Tyga and others have.

I'm afraid talk is cheap. Merely condemning them will only make you forget about it later. Statements now will not be able to be made by pen, they'll only be made by actions.

I wouldn't say it's a threat to their power; moreso that any game becomes boring when you're already on top (and the only thing to improve to is winning even more).

MK has members saying it, but as you said, what MK members said is more resembling MK policy everyday. That said, I had a nice chat with Archon the other day. I still doubt he's willing to go as far as many of his members would like him to, but that said, how much longer do you think Archon will continue to be active?

Archon's activity comes and goes in waves. So it will come and go. I have not talked to him recently but I do not believe he intends on quitting.

People who say the game is dying need to get some common sense. There are stil tons of active players in this game. Who knows? Maybe this "New Hegemony" will create some excitement back into the game.

There are dozens of posts including ones from SF, C&G & DH all talking about perpetual war, disbanding them and the rest even people like stumpy have been in on the threats. As for the past, having to dig up the worst abuses of NPOs reign to try and prove this isnt the worst thing ever done should tell you what you are defending and how much MK have changed since you left. Id put money on you cheering me out the door if they came for me.

The fact you can't "justify" our attack in the current "political climate" is the entire point it. I don't know how this happened, but TOP was actually PROGRESSIVE and ahead of it's time with their pre-empt of us. This games is choked with the guise that a war can only be started in a certain manner, that a war must unfold in a certain manner, etc. Over the years here, the more defensive you are the more ~HoNoRaBle~ you supposedly are. This has been taken to such extremes that there is a massive effort to mediate conflicts to put them out, or at least keep them from expanding. This goes hand-in-hand with the fact that, because of the narrowness of the game itself, every cb (because there are relatively few that can be generated) already has a page in the playbook. From their, it's a battle to be more defensive, and each time you have to feign a more defensive nature than the last. This is has gotten ridiculous. The game is narrow enough already, we need to break down the player imposed boundaries to open game-play back up.

If you want to consider us the bad guy for being aggressive and spicing things up, then do so, we have no qualms.

Ultimately, this war, singularly, won't make CN interesting again, because it's not about one war, or one period of peace. However, I do hope this war is at least the start of us attempting to reign in the expanding cycle between wars that we have seen grow from a few months, to 6 months, to where we are now where we might have one war a year. In my mind, about once every 6 months was the best balance was the best cycle for the game.

I can't say I have ever cheered anyone out the door. I don't think I would even cheer Bilrow. Every person brings something to this game whether I like that or not.

You realize I stood up and helped defend the former members of GGA when they disbanded even though 3/4ths of the world was chomping at the bit to raid them. AND I DESPISED THE GGA. If you really think I would cheer you out the door you don't pay attention.
