My thoughts are pretty much in line with some of the above.

1. He doesn't bring his 'B' game to the field. He brings his 'A' game or he doesn't bother.

2. You don't have to agree with his opinions to respect them.

3. He doesn't always get it right, but the wrong answers are at least well thought out.

He does have a bit of an ego issue, but then so do we all.
