Pact US a Sandwich

Recommended Posts

The Sandwich Confederation and United under Scorn have been good friends for some time. It is only natural that we should announce the following treaty:

Pact US a Sandwich

Preamble

Members of The Sandwich Confederation (SC) and United under Scorn (US) have established a long-term relationship of trust and friendship. In addition, the philosophies of both alliances are similar. In celebration of our relationship and in order to assure that both alliances prosper, we hereby agree to abide by the following:

Article I: Sovereignty

SC and US are, and shall remain, free and sovereign alliances -- independent of each other in both internal and external policies. Neither party takes responsibility for the independent actions or statements of the other in public or otherwise unless explicitly identified as such.

Article II: Non-aggression

A state of peace shall exist between SC and US. If a member of one alliance declares war on a member of the other, peace shall be made as quickly as possible and the aggressor will offer reparations to the aggrieved, consisting of at least the cost of all damages. Similarly, the parties agree that neither shall spy on the other. All negotiations for reparations will be handled internally between the parties involved and the leaders of each alliance.

Article III: Intelligence

Signatories will regularly monitor each other for any and all possible threats. Should one alliance become aware of a possible threat that could cause harm to the other, they shall inform the alliance via secure channels in a timely manner. Members of each alliance may share any additional information as desired.

Article IV: Joint Military Operations

In the event that either SC or US comes under military or spy attack that is not the result of treaty obligations to another alliance, the other shall help in defending the first through military, diplomatic and/or financial assistance as requested. Both SC and US agree that “defense” is defined as an attack that is not the result of the other choosing to become involved a third party's war. This is non-chaining and meant to avoid "treaty web" situations.

If SC or US decide to become involved in a third party's war for any reason, the other signatory MAY choose to become involved. However this is NOT required and the other party may withdraw at any time and under any circumstances.

Financial aid shall be considered a gift (as opposed to a loan) unless otherwise agreed.

Article V: The Tank

Both signatories shall retain their commitment to "The Tank," and hereby recognize the undeniable contribution it has made to their prior diplomatic relationship.

Article VI: Economics

Both SC and US agree that SC makes the best sandwiches available. This being the case, US shall encourage any member buying SC sandwiches (i.e. tech) to do so at the premium rate of 3 million for 50. Nothing in this article prohibits SC or US from making any other deals with other alliance regarding sandwich sales.

Article VII: Cancellation

Should either signatory see the need to dissolve this agreement, they shall notify the other signatory via their respective forums two weeks in advance.

In tank we trust...

Signed,

The Plate of the Sandwich Confederation

Signed,
Lord Necroseer
Lady White Chocolate
Co-Founders & Leaders of US

For those of you who need letters attached to your treaties, :P consider this a MD&OA Pact, of the non-chaining kind.

For US, this IS epic! We've been around for 21 months as an alliance and this is the FIRST time we've made a military commitment (as opposed to optional) to actually defend someone else! Now everyone can appreciate the situation.

Let's Party :D
