Are you suggesting that God is a myth? Because I disagree, and I'm sure some would find this offensive.

Sorry Satsu, but there's nothing mythy about 300 :P

Others, please keep sig requests out of a sig competition, it's kind of annoying...

I know I was going on a limb here but it actually is a myth. There were 300 Spartans however they fought along side of many more allies and were thus not alone. They had an army of 1,500 men in the last battle. Yes, they were still gravely outnumbered, but the 300 part was a myth.

See? it can work in both ways, this isn't the place to discuss religion.

The term "myth" is often used colloquially to refer to a false story;[sup][3][/sup][sup][4][/sup] however, the academic use of the term generally does not pass judgment on its truth or falsity.[sup][4][/sup][sup][5][/sup] In the study of folklore, a myth is a symbolic narrative explaining how the world and humankind came to be in their present form.[sup][5][/sup][sup][6][/sup][sup][7][/sup] Many scholars in other fields use the term "myth" in somewhat different ways.[sup][7][/sup][sup][8][/sup][sup][9][/sup] In a very broad sense, the word can refer to any traditional story.[sup][10]

God is a myth whether you like it or not. Just because it's a myth doesn't mean fake or untrue, though. Now that that argument is over, back to the competition!

Gotta agree here.

If we're allowed to do Norse gods and Greek gods because they're part of mythology then the Christian god is included.

Also, if you guys want to talk about that, make another thread.

Fair enough.

I am sure that some people might find it offensive that people think Roman Gods and Norse ones are a myth too. So really any godly creature falls under a category of myth and that does not include the believes of those who believe otherwise, since there are people who would agree and disagree probably about any myth.

Well according to wiki: "Aware that his force was being outflanked, Leonidas dismissed the bulk of the Greek army, and remained to guard the rear with 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans and perhaps a few hundred others, the vast majority of whom were killed." Coming from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Thermopylae

I know that's not really the most reliable source, but do you think you can make another entry? I am willing to hold off the voting until you do so.

I have to deny this entry due to it just being a photo of God creates Adam from Sistine Chapel with an inverse text effect.
Same deal applies here as to Satsukage. If you want to remake it, you have around 12 hours, I'd say.

All others can enter their sigs until the voting is up.

Mine wasnt added to the list.

You didn't post in the right format.

Also, its much more widely accepted that Roman gods and Norse gods are pagan/ mythical, etc. But whatever floats your boat.

True, but all I was stating that there are atheists for a reason and probably there still a number are people who believe that other religion's God isn't real or a myth or whatever you want to call it.

Well in that case, how can a neon'd cemetery be called a myth or anymore in depth than my sig, or an elf with wings be considered a myth?
It's not removed because it's not a myth. It's because all it was an untouched photo of a RL masterpiece with a inverted font or w/e you call it. If you would like to use the same theme or the same image, you can, but you have to deviate from the original more.

She's not denying you because it's not the right theme.

She's denying you because all you did was use a text overlay and then cut it out on a stock image and plonk it on a flimsy black background.
