The Gray Fox
The San Francisco Bay Area has held it's own separate identity since it's independence from Mexico in 1846. Certainly it held a Californian and later Tahoean identity, however it also blazed pathways that were separate from the identity of it's holding nation. The city of San Francisco, along with San Jose, Oakland, Fremont, Santa Rosa, Napa and many other smaller cities, towns and municipalities felt that with the collapse of the Tahoe regime it was prime time to finally express their cultural independence on a national level. On this day, June 7th in the current year, the cities, counties and municipalities have united together to forge a new nation: The Bay Republic. The Flag of The Bay Republic The Bay Republic has submitted to the proper authorities the correct forms in triplicate and opened a resounding plebiscite toward independence. Their request was immediately accepted. The Bay Republic has committed itself to form a Constitutional Republic with the guiding ideals of peace, prosperity and equality. The current Board of Supervisors of the City of San Francisco (the Capital of the Bay Republic) will convene later this week to draft a constitution for the nation. This draft will later be approved via plebiscite. The government or coalition that is established from the plebiscite will then form economic, military and domestic policies for the nation to be approved by an elected bicameral congress. The acting Board of Supervisors will be taking questions immediately at the War Memorial Opera House: across the street from the new national parliament and seat of the executive government. The current transitional government will answer any questions regarding the new nation and may offer some insight in the governmental coalition that will be formed.
