Voodoo Nova
Official Novakian Announcement The Italian Republic has fallen in to Anarchy. It is a shame a state such as it has fallen. In order to protect the interests of the region, Novak will protect the region until we hear from the other Italian state, Sicilian League, on if it would like to take over the protectorate region. Should they agree, Novak will immediately depart the state so the Sicilian League may properly administer the state. We wish nothing but good will to the citizens of the former Italian Republic state, and will help them with the state's needs until such a time a more local, stable government chooses to run the state.OOC: Junio is IGly in Anarchy. The FSM
Announcement from the League Given the state of anarchy in the Italian Peninsula The Sicilian League has decided to take all territories formerly administered by the Italian Republic into its protection. Generalissimo
Say calling it the ‘former’ Italian Republic state may be a little premature – while there is confusion in the streets Italian armed forces are still mobilized. How do you propose to administer this territory when there are still ongoing battles? There’s also the slight matter of the ongoing war between two countries on Italian soil. Generalissimo
Sicilian troops will be moving in to secure the area shortly. . . How are you going to do this without getting involved in the ongoing fighting? Your troops will likely get caught in the crossfire.
The FSM
Nominally the Italian Peninsula is under the trusteeship of the Sicilian Republic, further action, such as restoring a semblance of stability, will not take place until the diplomatic and legal issues surrounding the current conflict can be negotiated and resolved. Agostinho Neto
There are still 30000 soldiers in the country - order will be restored soon and things will return to normality. Nothing will change. Stay out of our country, nobody requested your help. Stay out of Italian affairs, we are sovereign, independent, and we are still here. "You're government is non-existent, there is no Italian Republic any more. You can no longer fail and harm the Italian peninsula with your horrific oppression. The Sicilian League is a beacon of greatness for the Italian's. You no longer are in control, you are no longer a sovereign nation. The Sicilian League, however, has courageously decided to aid the Italian peninsula in becoming a free group of people under their rule, something you never would have wanted. Your oppression is not wanted in the Mediterranean, and your regime is not recognized as the rightful rulers any longer."

Agostinho Neto
Anarchy - Your citizens are rioting in the streets of your nation. They desire a government of strong central powers that will reside over issues such as national defense, disaster relief, and foreign affairs. ROMA - Thousands of supporters of the former Fascist Regime chanted "death to the invaders" in Rome today, a witness said, almost one day after the beginning of the war. The renewed protests come despite a army police presence and the mass trial of some 1000 dissidents accused of fomenting the unrest that has continued for hours since this morning. "Hundreds of people are in People's square, Rome, chanting 'death to the invaders'. Others are also honking car horns," said the witness. "Hundreds of army trucks are there as well." The witness said army tried to disperse protesters. "They are telling protesters to leave the area or face being arrested," the witness said. The declaration of war and protests that followed, some of them the biggest pro-dictatorship demonstrations the Italian Republic has ever seen, have exposed deep divides among Italy's political elite, was democracy the right choice? After the attacks, the majority thinks it was a mistake. Oddo Biasini, leader of the winning centrist UPR coalition say the constituent assembly election was fair and legitimate, a return to fascism would be against the interests of the nation. Authorities say the vote was "the healthiest" election in 6 months, the second, but the attacks of this morning have probably changed the democratic trend, in a return to nationalism. The FSM
Due to the continued state of anarchy, Sicilian forces are being deployed to the Italian Peninsula to restore order and stability and to protect our fellow Italian people. The troops deployed are under strict orders not to engage in combat unless fired upon. Any armed groups that are encountered will be temporarily disarmed and escorted out of the Peninsula or back to their homes. Deployments: Classified The 1st Army (75,000 infantry) and 2nd and 3rd Armored Corps (200 armor) are being deployed to Reggio di Calabria, Paola, and Scalea. Once the landing points are secured the three landing parties are to move towards Potenza, disarming any armed groups they come across along the way. The 3rd Army (75,000 infantry) and the 1st and 4th Urban Corps (200 armor) are being deployed to Napoli and Salerno, once landing sites have been secured the units are to restore order to Napoli, disarming any armed groups encountered, and are to establish a forward command post to better coordinate peacekeeping efforts. The entire Sicilian Surface fleet will provide security and support for the landings, 6 squadrons of Sa-17M aircraft will be providing air support and will assist in reconnaissance and disarmament efforts. Again, all Sicilian Units are under strict instruction to not engage in combat unless they come under sustained and direct fire from hostile groups. Generalissimo
This isn’t peacekeeping, it’s an invasion of a sovereign state – don’t be surprised when you’re not greeted as liberators.
The FSM
Sicilian troops will not engage unless they are fired upon, the Italian government has collapsed into anarchy in the face of Libyan invasion. For the sake of our Italian brethren on the peninsula we are coming in to restore order, peace, and safety. The safety of the Italian people is at stake and we will not stop until their safety and security has been restored. Armed groups that are promulgating this state of anarchy and lawlessness will be temporarily disarmed, if they attempt to attack our peace keepers they will be declared hostile and treated accordingly. Armed groups that are promulgating this state of anarchy and lawlessness will be temporarily disarmed, if they attempt to attack our peace keepers they will be declared hostile and treated accordingly. An estimated 10000 people marched through the streets of Reggio Calabria, the regional capital of Calabria, today to rally against the sicilian invasion, the largest of such gatherings in Italian history, demanding that foreign troops leave the country. With a range of slogans from "Nobody here is going to leave" to "Now kill us all" to "Freedom or death" diverse groups of people from all over the peninsula came to show their support for Italian sovereignty and independence as they cried out for a return of fascism as the only plausible form of government. Some people even came dressed as a slave or a prisoner.
