Clement Stone Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor nobility to purchase power. - Benjamin Franklin Preamble The members of both TRF and US, as stated publicly through this agreement, pledge to exemplify honor and integrity in our dealings with each other and others. We will use diplomacy first and later, if necessary, our joint financial and/or military resources to fight to preserve these two noble ideals regardless of the opposition. Pursuant to the above principles, we agree to the following: Article I: Sovereignty: TRF and US are, and shall remain, free and sovereign alliances, independent of each other with respect to both internal and external policy. Neither party takes responsibility for the independent actions or statements of the others. Joint statements or actions will be explicitly identified as such. Article II: Non-aggression: A state of peace shall exist between TRF and US. If a member of one alliance declares war on a member of the other, peace shall be made as quickly as possible and the aggressive party will offer reparations to the aggressed consisting of at least the cost of all damages. Similarly, the parties agree that neither shall spy on the other in any way. All negotiations for reparations will be handled internally between the parties involved and the leaders of each alliance. Article III: Intelligence: Should one alliance become aware of a possible threat that could cause harm to the other, they shall quickly inform the alliance via secure channels established between them. Members of each alliance are also required to share any additional information that may be beneficial to the other. Article IV: Optional Defense: In the event that either TRF or US come under military or spy attack, the other signatory may, but is under no obligation to, offer any assistance, be it diplomatic, financial, or military, or any combination as agreed between both alliances. Financial aid shall be considered a gift (as opposed to a loan) unless otherwise agreed. The Option to come to the defense on behalf of a signatory will be dependent upon the reasons the other came under attack. The fact that the aggressor may be larger or more powerful will not be a factor in the decision to NOT assist the other alliance. If the cause is honorable and the party involved has acted with integrity, the other is encouraged to assist. Article V: Cancellation: It is the intention of both TRF and US that his agreement shall remain in force until such time as it is agreed between the parties that it is time for a change. Both parties consider this agreement to be a beginning of a strong honor bond. If this agreement is to be terminated without mutual consent, such termination shall take place two weeks after written notice by the party terminating the agreement, unless otherwise agreed between the parties.
