1.
Or why other alliances want certain leaders out of the picture by using propaganda to make them look bad?
Indeed. What we're witnessing here is either extreme (and ideally unnecessary) measures by some leadership to keep their alliances strong by using politics and propaganda to weaken the competition, or just more examples of poor leadership in general. After all, if you're unable to ascend by your own merit and style, you will have to try to pull everyone else around you down. From what I see, most popular leaderships are spending more time on the latter, and not enough time making the right decisions, and executing their responsibilities.... responsibly. It's very confusing to me how, despite bold and blatant irresponsibility, they still manage to rally people to support them enough to carry out their own warped objectives. "Birds of a feather flock together" I suppose, however, it seems to me that once you join a particular group, a feather is issued to you, and you are required to display it proudly - regardless of whether or not you like it. Tech-raiding is of no exception. You are either for it, or against it. I think you'd be surprised how many anti-tech raiding alliances are out there with members that support it. Where we have all (or most of us) collectively seemed to have failed is that we began to value our nations more than our beliefs. Not too shabby for a theory, I suppose.
2.
The questions then become; How does this war end? When does this war end? Why does everyone feel the need to push their pixels to the limit all of a sudden? Discuss.
It's very easy. Alliance leaders have the responsibility for maintaining the integrity of their alliances. Their members have entrusted them to make the right decisions that will secure a bright future for them and whichever alliance that they are a part of. Some leaders are failing at their responsibilities in this respect, and war is what separates them from those that aren't. Any sensible leadership would surrender in the face of imminent annihilation. Others like to be annihilated first, so that rebuilding will take much longer and terms will be much more severe. I think that you will be able to find a better answer by exploring the phenomenon of why people choose to support poor leadership.
3. The "rights" you have depend on your ability to force your opponent(s) to submission. If you are a rogue, for example, and you find yourself being raided by an alliance, then you are at the mercy of the attacker(s). Unless, for example, you were on red about a year ago. Then there was another option on the table for you.
4. I must admit, the rogues don't contribute enough to political discussions that take place here. So, to help remedy that, here's my 2 cents: That was a very heart-felt OP. It wouldn't have been made unless TheNeverender felt it was absolutely necessary. This was addressed in the very first sentence:
It would appear the need has arisen for me to clear up a few misconceptions and to globally address a few matters, something I was genuinely hoping to avoid this time around.
While it would be mildly hypocritical of me to point out that selectively addressing propaganda is bias and "bad", I would like to instead direct attention to TheNeverender's confirmation that opposing propaganda is having an effect, hence, the OP. And while I'd like to think of Bob's inhabitants as independent thinkers, who are perfectly capable of forming their own opinions based on the information that they receive, it seems clear that they have figured out who is issuing out reliable information versus those that aren't. Mostly. In this case, we have been left to sort through a dramatic plea to take the new hegemony's side in this war, and have been left no other choice but to simply "trust" that the information provided is correct. After taking a look at the war itself, and the decisions that have been made by leaders of both sides, I'm hard-pressed to go and do that. The Karma War may have resulted in a power-shift. Responsibility...... not so much.
5. I think it's safe to say that the reason behind this post is to inject propaganda into the cyberverse, rather than blog about your political feelings. What I hear is a commercial. How many people like commericals? I sure don't. With power, comes responsibility. The old hegemony did a much better job of executing political responsibility than the new one. Enjoy the power while it lasts. I'm confident that when the old hegemony returns to power, they will issue out the same kindness and consideration that has been given to them.
6. Fellow Bob inhabitants, As a former executive of the Blackstone Collusion, I dedicated myself to the ending of global hegemony. I agreed with its philosophy – after years of domination by blocs such as Q, it became clear that unorthodox tactics would be necessary to bring peace, freedom, and prosperity to the cyberverse. While others had the same visions, seemingly, results did not come fast enough by utilizing traditional operating schema. The rest, as you know, is history. After returning to the cyberverse and seeing the new landscape that has been formed as a result of countless nuclear strikes, it has become very clear to me that this is not the world that I had envisioned, nor is it the world that other opponents to global hegemony had envisioned. Those of us that had dedicated ourselves to ending it, have been unknowingly used as pawns to perpetuate it, and strengthen it to grotesque proportions. Amidst Bob’s awakening to this notion, I offer my sincerest apologies. Words cannot express the horror that I feel each day when I see the results of what I contributed to – as much or as little as that may have been. I know that I’m not the only contributor who feels this way. Rest assured that I will do everything in my power to help to fix what I have helped to break. I stand true to my beliefs of ending tyranny, and I hope that everyone who has been misguided whilst embarking on that endeavor will also stick to those beliefs.
7. I'm actually considering it. I'll be back in a few hours.
8. Anything else? Read TWiP. They were definitely in the mood to make poor decisions.
9. I'd love to tell you, but unfortunately, it could have an effect on the current war. It's best you keep fighting with the information you have, rather than the info that you don't have. Maybe some day after the war is over, all will be revealed. In the meantime, I like things just the way they are.
10. And this is where being an ex-Pacifican had its advantages. Prior to the war, there was growing instability within Pacifica's ranks. They were making poor decision after poor decision. My favorite, which I made sure to point out to Schattenmann, was their promotion of Albert Speer, a proud Nazi. He showed up to NPO a while back, proudly displaying swastikas in his board signature, around the end of Planet Bob's anti-Nazi movement. And they not only harbored him, but began placing him in positions of responsibility, having ignored an entire internal investigation on him. Of course, this is just one of many examples, but yes, it was very clear that NPO's leadership decided that it was in the mood to make a long slew of poor decisions. We knew it, and planned on it. And did so successfully.
11. Actually, there's still much more to the story that still lurks in the shadows. We felt very strongly that NPO would attack... our intel confirmed it. But we also had a few contingency plans in place. Even aside from those plans, we knew that OV and Superfriends were in no danger of being wiped out. This was not something we came up with overnight.
12. But wouldn't you say that's "enough"? Seriously. BC helped to serve NPO up on a silver platter. Today, they are being destroyed. That might not be good enough for you, but it's definitely good enough for me. BC wasn't a mega-alliance. To destroy global hegemony required lots of different alliances and lots of effort and contribution. If you're offended that BC wasn't able to do it all by itself, then there's really nothing I can do for you. We played our part. End of story.
13. Not exactly. NPO had a knack for declaring wars on alliances that would not bring it any destruction. You know, "keeping down the little man"? In order for the Karma War to spark, the spark had to be with a particular alliance - an alliance that appeared to be NPO's favorite type of target - the little man - but also an alliance that had the right ties. NPO had dominated the planet for years. That alone showed that they needed some help in making the calls that will destroy them. If that's what you consider failed logic, then you have much to learn.
14. Almost nothing? Well, that must mean we did something. If we could have done everything on our own, we would have. But as we all know, it takes numerous contributions and efforts to make today's planet Bob happen.
15. I'm inviting you to make a point, which you still have not done. If you'd like, I can respond by copying and pasting some definitions as well, but I doubt we would be successfully communicating by doing so.... for the same reason you have not made a point.
16. I know more about what BC did prior to the start of the war than you do. You know more about what happened after BC disbanded than I do. Thank you for pointing this out. I think it kind of goes without saying.
17. No, you just pasted a few definitions. Good for you.
18. OMG you're RIGHT !! He must have magically taken my logs and gave them to NPO so they could declare war !! And to think all of that pre-planning was done without Blackstone. Flooring, to say the least.
19. The topic at hand is the topic "The War Isn't Over". It's called a topic for a reason. You can't just change the topic because you want to. Read the OP and discuss it, and views on it. That's what it's for. There's no place for ADD here.
20. Once I again, we seem to be drifting away from the topic here. But I'll bite. On Day 1 of assessing MK, we theorized about MK being pro-NPO due to the MK-NPO war. In most cases, when NPO rolls an alliance, that alliance becomes pro-NPO. We felt that MK was not immune to this phenomenon, and explored it. Which was the responsible thing to do. If you guys could please come back down from the clouds and focus on the topic at hand, however, many of us would be appreciative. Thanks.
21. No, that was actually where we kept the embeds. The intel that mattered was in the classified areas
22. Anyone with any intelligence at all knows to approach any problem with a neutral and scientific basis. Morons take things at face value.
23. It was a common "belief" that whatever NPO wanted, NPO received. It's a common "belief" that each time NPO went to war, its allies followed. I guess it has something to do with... oh, what are they called? "Treaties", I believe. NPO was a central power. Some would say they even engineered wars themselves ... but I believe they just released countless weak CBs. On the inverse of your argument (and of course, this is not an attempt to troll MK - we SURELY wouldn't want that), but MK was around for much longer than Blackstone. They even fought a war against NPO (which they lost). Perhaps this makes MK more influential than Blackstone, when you think about things in a traditional sense (and mind you, the traditional way of thinking about politics enabled NPO's dominance). In terms of influence, however, it's important to ascertain what "influence" you're referring to. If MK influenced the world by being around longer, trolling the forums, and getting rolled by NPO, then, by those standards, they influenced the world about as much as everyone else did. In terms of ridding the world of global hegemony... there's a few years of NPO dominance that said MK influence can't really account for. Blackstone had some influence in this aspect, by providing NPO with a CB to spark a war that would cause their demise. In this respect, Blackstone had more of an influence than MK. Dancing on a stage obviously didn't work for the attention-whores. I guess it just depends on what you mean by "influence". What did MK do before Blackstone was even around to rid the world of global hegemony - that worked?
24. I'm going to make this as simple for you as I possibly can. 1. Blackstone is currently disbanded. 2. Blackstone will recall key leaders and operatives within a week. 3. Once they have been recalled, Blackstone will no longer be disbanded. Surely you can understand this... surely you can. If you can manage to figure this out, I'll give you a pudding cup.
