They will be stationed at Langley and Dover. Additionally, three squadrons of attack helicopters were produced for use by the army. One squadron of AH-64 Apaches will be stationed at Hawksbill Mountain, with a squadron of AH-1 Cobras stationed at both Aberdeen and Fort Eustis. Finally, plans for the creation of an Airborne Division and Marine Corps are being announced. Currently both divisions are being organized, with personnel being pulled from the Army to create the corps. Lastly, support and transport aircraft designs are being produced. Cargo planes will primarily be of the C-130 Hercules design, with lesser extents of the C-47 Skytrain and C-124 Globemaster II designs (which will be used to transport paratroopers once the Airborne Division has been created). Lastly, three C-5 Galaxy cargo planes have been built for heavy transport, but due to the cost, there are no plans to purchase anymore of these in the the foreseeable future. We have also found the KC-135 Stratotanker to be a suitable aerial refueling tanker aircraft, quite capable of addressing the needs of our air force. The Coast Guard has also purchased two squadrons of SH-3 Sea King anti-submarine helicopters for coastal defense. They shall be stationed at Langley Air Force Base and Dover Air Force Base. The Army has also adopted the M16 as a standard rifle for the infantry. The Airborne Division, once created, will adopt the M14 design. The FN Minimi has been adopted as a light machine gun for ground forces. The M47 Dragon and the BGM-70 TOW have been adopted as anti-tank missiles for use by the Army. Richard Cheney has been appointed by President Scorpio to serve as Vice President of Rebel Virginia. President Scorpio, previously Vice President, recently usurped power from Lee L. Rebel Virginia Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Share Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Washington, D.C., Rebel Virginia - In light of recent hostile moves towards Rebel Virginia, such as applying the ATO, canceling our ODP, and making several scathing remarks about us, Rebel Virginia has entered DEFCON 1 and is moving 15,000 soldiers and all available armored vehicles to the Altean border. Fighters shall patrol the airspace on our side of the border and escort any commercial airliner en route to Altea to Rebel Virginian airports for inspection. All Altean citizens shall be temporarily detained as potential terrorists. They shall be released pending inspection. Additionally, the war against Rockport goes well. The cowards are already begging for peace. Additionally, 50 more M60 Patton tanks were purchased. 25 will be stationed at both Tobyhanna Army Depot and the Eastern Distribution Center outside Philadelphia. Two squadrons of F-15 and one of F-16 were also purchased. The F-15s will be stationed at Andrews Air Force Base with the F-16s stationed at Dover. *Classified* 5,000 citizens are being conscripted and trained so that they may eventually replace those sent to Rockport, whom are all certainly going to die a horrible death. Additionally Operation Flying Circus was concluded and deemed a success. Many windows were broken. *Classified* Military will remain on heightened alert. Fighters will continue to go on "practice runs" throughout Rebel Virginian airspace. We must be prepared for Altean treachery. Although Rebel Virginia had thousands of small towns, this one was special. It was also closed off, being patrolled by soldiers. All citizens there were dressed in 1950s era clothing, including poodle skirts. The architecture was reminiscent of the 1950s, and so were the cars. "Exactly as I remember it, Dr. Monroe." said President Scorpio. "So, what are the people like? They acting like it's the 1950s yet? Have the accepted the fact that Eisenhower is President?" "We're working on it." responded Monroe in a harsh, gargled voice. "The actors are doing good, but we're having a hard time convincing the people it's the 1950s. But with some psychological convincing it can be done." "Make it so number one." replied Scorpio. "As soon as Pleasantville is completed we will then expand it to the rest of Rebel Virginia. Marvin, we're building a better, more perfect world." He smiled as he walked to the black sedan that would take him back to Hawksbill Mountain. Additionally, one squadron of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters were stationed at the Hawksbill Mountain Facility, with another stationed at Fort Myer in Arlington. Lastly, three new designs for support helicopter had been adopted by the military's various branches: the CH-47 Chinook, the CH-53 Sea Stallion, and the CH-54 Tarhe. *Classified* Pleasantville, Virginia, Rebel Virginia - A school and a clinic were now present in Pleasantville. The town was pollution free and the grass was extra green (thanks to the AstroTurf). It was the perfect town, and it soon it would be complete. Rebel Virginia Posted February 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted February 3, 2009 *Classified* The SS Titanic III, SS Lusitania II, SS Andrea Doria, SS Empress of Ireland II, SS Stockholm, SS Edmund Fitzgerald, and the SS Poseidon were immediately returned to port. The former Altean citizens were taken off of the ships, and 21,000 Rebel Virginians loaded onto the ocean liners in their place. Destination: Promised Land. The Alteans would be provided with smaller civilian vessels, so their relocation would still be assisted in, but it would be much slower. Elsewhere, fifteen crates just in from the UFE were loaded onto fifteen C-47s. They crates contend large bombs intended to be given to the Promised Land, for use on the Timorians. Fifty M60 tanks, ten M110 howitzers were also loaded onto C-124s and C-130s. Rebel Virginia would rely on Promised Land's support vehicles. Additionally, 2,500 soldiers were loaded onto air transports as well. The air convoy would arrive at Promised Land within a day and a half. They would be reinforced by the 21,000 Rebel Virginians being transported by sea in a week and a half, going around Cape Horn. OOC: Reference for the UFE thing here. In response to this, mining in Kentucky is to begin immediately. The coal reserves in Western Kentucky are predicted to produce 130,000 thousand short tons annually will bring total Rebel Virginian coal production to 225 million short tons per year. *Classified to the Governments of West Virginia and the United Francoist Empire* Might I fancy you a deal? Coal is one of the most widely used energy sources in the world, and combined our three nations produce nearly half of the world's coal. With a little work I do believe we may be able to set up a cartel on the coal industry. Would be a rather prosperous venture we think. Thousands of families greeted the return of their sons. Memorial services for those killed in the tragic accident in Newman, Promised Land will be taking place later in this week. A small monument in Washington will be constructed in their honor. Cumberland, Maryland, Rebel Virginia - Florence McNewton has raised enough funds to construct a monument to her son, the presumed to be deceased Bradley McNewton, who led a daring raid against the enemy nation of Gebiv late last week. Mrs. McNewton has been quoted as saying that those who took part in this raid are "heroes of Rebel Virginia," and deserve to be honored as such. The federal government has no comment on this memorial, other than that they will continue to strongly condemn what they perceive as a terrorist attack against Gebiv, which has been describe by President Scorpio as "most unfortunate." The government has stated that they had no knowledge of the attack, and had they known beforehand they would have put all available resources into preventing it before it occurred. Nevertheless, Bradley "Milk Man" McNewton has risen to folk hero status throughout Rebel Virginia, and ballads of his exploits are being taught my parents to children. *Classified* Pleasantville, Virginia, Rebel Virginia - The construction of Pleasantville was going well. More people were taken to the town and assimilated into the population, bringing the population of the town to just over 1,000. Non-residents had to be kept out, however. To see this done private security firms wire hired to patrol the perimeter of the town. Additionally, an electric fence and a moat were dug about a mile away from the edge of the town. Tourists coming to Rebel Virginia will find the streets making for a much smoother ride. Cumberland, Maryland, Rebel Virginia - The memorial to Bradley "Milk Man" McNewton was completed in front of his childhood home earlier this week. It consists of an imposing bronze statue, of a heroically posed McNewton slaughtering Gebivian infidels. It is projected to be Cumberland's busiest tourist attraction. Eire, Pennsylvania - Winter storms caused extensive damage to the towns and cities of western Pennsylvania and New York. Power lines have been knocked over, leaving millions without power. Roads are also covered in ice, making transportation difficult. The federal government has declared the states of Pennsylvania and New York disaster areas, and have allocated a rather generous portion of this year's budget to deicing the roads, and repairing the damaged infrastructure of the area. As a result of the damage of this unusually strong storm, many national infrastructure improvement projects must be delayed for another year at least. *Classified* Hawksbill Mountain Facility, Virginia, Rebel Virginia - Tunnel boring devices were raised from a cavity underneath the mountain. They had been drilling for over one hundred miles southwest, from Washington, D.C to the mountain. After several months of work the bunker was finally connected to the White House via a subway. Granted the money could have been better spent on other projects benefiting the nation, but it was determined by a Congressional committee that the bunker had gone long enough without receiving an upgrade. It was a beautiful garden which he considered to be a substitute for the actual outdoors. He had just finished listening to an opera in his private theater, and to relax enjoyed a rousing game of human chess against President Scorpio. "Roderick, send the rook to D4." cried out the Pope, and his faithful butler ordered the man playing the rook to advance on a pawn. The pawn was only sixteen. Too young to die. "Queen to D4!" ordered Scorpio, as the woman playing the queen proceeded to kill the man playing the rook. When suddenly General MacDoogle and Colonel Prick interrupted the game. "Sir, you may want to take a look at this." explained the General to the President and the Pope as the Colonel place a portfolio in front of them. "You see these photographs? They are supposedly of Dragon Empire Chairman Maelstrom Vortex. As you may know, he was confined to a wheelchair or something following a deadly dose of radiation poisoning. He may be dead." "So, what about him? Get to the point already!" snapped the Pope. "He's walking about you see. Something a dead man should not be doing." the General paused. "And more importantly......look at the eyes." The Pope was speechless. Was he seeing what he thought he was seeing? It couldn't be. The lizard people were defeated by the Jesus and the Apostles two millennia ago. The were banished to the system of Alpha Draconis, never to return, and should they ever a hero would emerge, to vanquish them yet again using the Sword of Power. But no hero had yet to emerge. Something had to be done. Thoughts raced through the Pope's mind, and he could only utter one word. "Impossible....." "Quite possible, sir." plainly stated the General. "And unfortunately it appears that the Dragon Empire has already been compromised. It would explain their erratic behavior as of late. Also, it is only a matter or time before the reptilians infiltrate other governments as well." "Scorpio, invite Chairman Vortex to Washington for tea." the Pope ordered. "Tell him we need to talk about some issues between our nations, and to repair relations. Let him know that we need to speak to him personally. A subordinate will not do." "But Popey, the game." replied Scorpio. With that the Pope snapped his fingers and several snipers assassinated Scorpio's king. "Checkmate." said a rather smug Pope Bubba. *Private Message to the Dragon Empire* In recent times it appears relations between our nations have become strained, due to perceived transgressions by your nation, in part due to what we see as the Dragon Empire attempting to meddle in the Western Hemisphere, despite our continued wishes for you to not. This has resulted several clauses being stricken from our friendship treaty, and we fear that if some issues are not addressed soon it will lead to only future animosity between our peoples. For this reason, we invite your Chairman to the White House, in the hopes that we may work our problems out, so that our nations may once again grow close. Reasons for this have not been disclosed. Pittsylvania County, Virginia, Rebel Virginia - Development of the uranium deposits of the county has begun. With the small uranium deposits elsewhere in the country beginning to run dry, the government determined now would be time to tap into Virginia's own uranium deposits, which is currently the 7th largest undeveloped uranium deposit in the world. Norfolk, Virginia, Rebel Virginia - The hull of the SS Britannic was completed earlier today. The rest of this colossal vessel should be completed before the end of the year. "Crickey!" He and the alligator wrestled in the mud for hours, until he finally got the upper hand. He stuck out his thumb, and the deed was done. He'd emerged victorious. Unfortunately hundreds of these alligators remained. He'd get them though. He'd get them all. Norfolk, Virginia, Rebel Virginia - Jack Hayes, the chief engineer working on building the SS Britannic was looking over the ships plans. "Andrew," he said to Andrew Watts, the ship's designer, "Are you sure she's unsinkable?" "Positive." he said with a nod. With that Jack went back to work, but he had an uneasy feeling. The ship was coming along faster than expected. President Scorpio had ordered that it's construction be hastened. He wanted to host an international convention on it or something, which worried Jack. He just felt something bad was going to happen to that ship. *Classified* Hawksbill Mountain Facility, Virginia, Rebel Virginia - Until now Hawksbill Mountain was just another military base, although one with a bunker. However, due to an executive order it would be turned into a citadel. Fifteen foot walls, five feet thick, would be constructed around the base. Sentry towers, SAMs, and anti-aircraft flack would all be placed around the walls. Nothing would be getting in or out.....alive that is. They are currently being deployed to South America in the event that Rebel Army gets involved in this war. The SS Titanic III, SS Lusitania II, SS Empress of Ireland II, SS Andrea Doria, SS Stockholm, and the SS Edmund Fitzgerald are currently en route to Xiuhecuhtli, Brazil in the Imperial Union Washington, D.C., Rebel Virginia - With the bird flu epidemic in the Great Lakes State seemingly under control it seems that all Rebel Virginia troops currently decontaminating the area will be able to return to normal states later this week. However, until a cure can be established, all travelers from foreign nations will be detained upon arrival it can be confirmed that they are uninfected.
