He draws his attention away from the battle torn banner of Legion down on the citizens of the Kingdom of Axum and sighs. It had been ten years since World War 8 had ripped the globe apart. The major empires, no longer content with ripping smaller weaker nations to shreds, had finally grown the testicular fortitude to face each other. Nations looked on in shock as the major powers blasted each other into rubble. Billions died so that millions could wake to a new and far more free tomorrow. While the Kingdom of Axum might live in peace and freedom, the threats to Africa were many. Being the successor nation to Legion had its responsibility. No longer did the young men and women of the Brotherhoods march away to die in foreign wars. These days they stayed in Africa and died for their brothers and sisters. With so much wrack and ruin rained down on Southern Africa from the rain of nuclear weapons that scoured away the poor scripting and bad acting of the Dominion of Draka, the demands on the Kingdom were many. "I make my first royal decree. Africa is for Africa. Let it be known the Kingdom of Axum puts all of Africa, the islands off the coast of Africa, Madagascar, and so forth in the African Protectorate. Nations arising from within are encouraged. Outside encroachment is not." ooc: Open protectorate, new nations are allowed, no limitations on their role play are in place. No permission for new rpers required. "ALL HAIL KING BECKWITH!" "AFRICA FOR AFRICA!" With that bit of irritating royal absurdity overwith, Beckwith takes the time to consider what cliche he can draw out of the afternoon before it comes to a close. He's already gotten an all hail, which is hilarious in his opinion. Just ten years before he was sitting in jail for desertion, yet now here is the King of his own kingdom. Being the son of one of Legion's most endearing heroes has its perks, yet he can't claim he has ridden his father's hard work all the way to where he sits now. A man on charges for desertion has two choices, die or take whatever offer comes his way. With war breaking out all over the globe. With badly cast dictators having their craptastic selves blown into atomic dust, work was plentiful. A certain kind of work called for desperate men, and King Beckwith being one not to dangle on the end of a noose took the only alternative he was going to get, going right into the heart of Athens and rescuing several young children of the Athenian Royal family. One could probably throw a rock out of the King's window and hit a former royal family member of some sort of royal family. In those days Legion took it personally when the oppressed masses took it upon themselves to hang the children of dictators, the bad actors, the egomaniacs, the men acting out with their large armies due to penis envy, and so forth. Not that Legion blamed the oppressed masses for stringing up the cliche spewing wankers, but the kids, well that was just not fair game. It was here Beckwith got his reprieve, it was in the heart of a major European city, where Beckwith led a team of Legion soldiers threw howling noose wielding crowds. It was here were the picture of Beckwith running to the chopper carrying a baby in one hand and fending off a crowd of killers with a .45 in the other. A hero was created by a badly shaken Legion on that day and it was this hero who became a King who is beloved and adored by his people for his bravery and eccentricities. They are ordered to deploy to the old AUP Firebases. With this order given, 160,000 Legionnaires and another 75,000 administrative and support staff begin deploying. Firebase Falcon in Northern Africa. Firebase Lion in Western Africa. Firebase Gbada in Eastern Africa. Firebase Blivet in Southwestern Africa. These bases are located away from major populations. The standing orders are to observe with drones, social media, and when possible to patrol in civilian cars and plain clothing. The lightest possible touch is to be made to encourage the growth and prosperity to local populations. "Well, we never were an unstable nation. Our King was given the throne of the House of Denard via royal court of Empress Sulieman the First, who ruled over Sudan quite a long time ago. Just recently we were also known as Legion, probably one of the longer lived and more stable African nations, been around for 30 years and counting." Captain Enema Posted June 2, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 2, 2014 Classified In light of the recent nuclear conflict in Asia, the necessity to improve the Kingdom's Sosus assets is upgraded. The networks in place in the Red Sea are to be vastly improved upon with newer technology and denser networks. Further, a longer line of SOSUS bouys will be placed in the Indian Ocean and around certain strategic points. The older network in the Red Sea, left over from the Legion Navy, will be left in place and taken off the Navy's books once the replacement for it is fully functional. Upon that time it will be turned over to the King's University Oceanographic Studies Department for data collection purposes. However, we do recognize and welcome the Kingdom of Axum and wish it well. We also offer the Kingdom of Axum an embassy in our capital of Budapest.
