"The Republic would like to notify that due to the irrational and dishonourable behaviour of the Northern Imperium's leader, escalation to war is possible, though not guaranteed.
Thank you for your attention."

"Irrational is being polite to say the least. Hopefully this situation is resolved peacefully, however, in accordance to the African Union pact , should the Northern Imperium act aggressively against the Lunar Republic; Legion will give what aid it reasonably can."

"We are grateful for the support all of you are giving us. Luckily, the Empress has stood down for the time being. A trial will be held soon; observers from you, our dear allies, are welcome to watch the proceedings as permitted by our laws.
Shuttles will be reserved for any delegations you might wish to send."

Zimbabwe Revolution

The Zimbabwe Land has formed a group of men deemed to lead them in a righteous path. These government members have collected a moderate size army of around 300000 soldiers who plan to defend the nation against any unwarranted threats or attacks. Zimbabwe on this way petitions the African Unity Pact in order to declare independance of the Zimbabwe region under the rule of the Head of State, Nyawela Ibori who plans to control the government in order to establish a Single Party State. The Head of State is in the process of choosing ministers to lead each cabinet and put Zimbabwe on the road to success.

The Principality would like to start a round of votes centered on admitting Zimbabwe into the African Unity Pact.

The vote stands at Yay: 1, Nay: 0, Abstain: 0

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: The following will be completely available to all members of the AUP, if you can't build them yourself, get either myself, Curristan, Lynneth or Axolotlia involved (If I forgot to mention anyone else with the appropriate tech, my sincere apologies!)

The Principality's armed forces, together with the military research and procurement complex of MILitary Aviation Complex (MILAC), National Defense Industries Incorporated (NDII) and Nascent Military Industries (NMI) have released a line of hypersonic target drones on the eve of planned AUP wargames and military exercises to all member states. These drones, capable of flying at high speeds at higher altitudes, will test the mettle of African nations, training noble AUP pilots in the art of identifying, tracking and intercepting highly hypersonic threats such as cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.

DU-/DUE-43 "Dunce" Hypersonic Target Drone

Length: 4.4 m
Wingspan: 1.53 m
Height: 0.7 m
Weight: 1,400 kg

Ceiling: 29 km
Top Speed: Mach 9.8 at Altitude

Carried atop an air deployed expendable launcher (rocket) within the belly of a B-12 Recluse or an F-12 Tarantula, the DU-43 target drone and its ECCM trainer cousin is designed to mimic the flight patterns and profiles of high performance land, sea or air launched cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. It is able to mimic a cruise missile's linear speed as well as uncooperative flight profile at high mach speeds. Standard operational procedure has the drone launched over the designated test site. The drone and launch pair is dropped from the belly of the bomber aircraft assigned to it to 11 km altitude, where the main rocket motors ignite and send the coupled drone to the appropriate height and speed. This launcher is then discarded, and the DU-43 flies on its own propulsion. Friendly forces are then cleared to engage the drone in several different preprogrammed scenarios: mid altitude speeds of mach 6, sprints to mach 9.8 at Altitude, or a mixture of any inbetween.

The Dunce is generally designed to operate as a tow vehicle for missile and gun targets. The aircraft can carry either radar or infrared tow targets for missile training, as well as an enhanced radar signature/IR target for air interceptions. It is designed to be controllable at all flight speeds, including unpowered glides, and is recoverable via parachute landing.

DU-2/DUE-2 "Dundee" High Performance Hypersonic Target Drone

Ceiling: Exo-Atmospheric
Top Speed: Mach 20

The DU-/DUE-2 is a high performance, ultra-velocity target drone developed as a component of a more proactive and ongoing SDI project encapsulating all of Africa in its protective sheath. Launched from ground based installations aboard a 'light' expendable launch rocket platform, the Dundee resides in the payload section of what would otherwise be considered an ICBM. Once a target altitude is reached, the ICBM deploys the target drone. This allows aircraft belonging to the Principality and allied nations the opportunity to test their capabilities with regards to shooting down enemy ICBMs in an air to air engagement.

Like the smaller and less capable Dunce, the Dundee's unconventional take-off is purposefully designed. The Dundee does not take off under its own power in order to climb to operational altitude and speed. The expendable launch system takes the DU-/DUE-2 past a sizeable portion of the Earth's atmosphere - the carrier rocket lifts the aircraft to altitude much more efficiently, allowing the drone itself to conserve a significant amount of mass that would otherwise be reserved for the fuel and equipment needed for a self launch, reducing overall size, OR allowing for greater fuel or payload for self powered flight. In any case, the high speed provided by the launch platform gives the Dundee and Dunce a large initial velocity, reducing the delta-V required to reach orbit or operational speed/altitude.

The DUE-2 itself is also capable of a wide variety of flight profiles to mimic a number of hypersonic and high hypersonic targets. Like the Dunce, the Dundee is able to be recovered via glide/parachute landings. It can tow targets suitable to the projected threat intended to practice again, with the DUE-2 incorporating a full sized ECM module in a towed capacity in order for allied forces to engage simulated targets in a high jamming, ECM, ECCM, IRCM and IRCCM simulated environment.

The Principality has developed a replacement to the venerated legacy Browning M2 Heavy Machinegun and all of its variants. Dubbed the NMI BFG-15 'Brute' , the weapon fires a bullet at 15.5 x 106mm cartridge at muzzle energies of 40,000 J, more than double the 18,000 J of the M2 Browning. It is intended as a full replacement for a number of platforms currently used by the AUP armed forces, designed to mesh exceptionally well with legacy systems by utilizing CTA or Cased Telescopic Ammunition in order to minimize size differences between the M2 and the BFG-15.

The BFG-15, or Bi-Fed Gun model 15 utilizes a unique feed device, with link ammunition belts feeding the weapon from both the left and right sides. Spent shell casings are ejected out of the bottom of the gun. A quick change barrel assembly ensures a reliably constant rate of fire when used on infantry based platforms. Sturdier cooled barrels exist for other weapon applications.

Caliber: 15.5x115 mm
Weight: 60 kg (without mount)
Length: 2150 mm
Length of barrel: 1500 mm
Feeding: dual belt
Rate of fire: 600 rounds/min
Muzzle velocity: 1055 meters per second

Dubbed, the 'Brute' the BFG-15 can easily pierce 10mm of steel armor at 30 degrees at a distance of 1.35 km. This enables the Brute to defeat all light APC or mobility vehicle armor at distances of 1km and beyond.

The BFG-15 has a conventional, gas operated action with rotating bolt, which locks into the barrel extension. With a standard dual feed, the weapon can incorporate multiple ammunition types in a single deployment. Most notable is ability for the BFG to incorporate a miniaturized intelligent pre-programmable barrel similar to the much larger 42 x 348mm of the T250 Guardian SHORAD gun system. This allows the BFG-15 to fire intelligently programmed flechette rounds in order to maximize hit probability against highly uncooperative targets.

Following the wide dispersal of the NMI/MILAC Suppression of Enemy Air Defence Miniature Assistant (SEAD-MA), as well as the Electronic Warfare/ELINT variant SEAD-MA-Extended Mission (SEAD-MA-EM) throughout the air forces of the AUP, the Principality has developed a system to help ease deployment of dozens upon dozens of said drone in order to protect African air breathing assets as well as artificially saturating potential theatres of operation.

Dubbed the SCALS, or SEAD-MA Cargo Air Launched System, the state-of-the-art, low-cost, highly modular, programmable and air-launched SEAD-MA as well as its variants are able to be launched out of the cargo ramp of any legacy or future cargo aircraft with minimal preparation. The SCALS opens the door for the non-traditional use of a high-capacity aircraft to deliver hundreds of SEAD-MAs during a single combat sortie.

The SCALS itself is composed of a lightweight steel birdcage frame work that can hold as many as eight SEAD-MAs or unboosted SEAD-MA-EMs, or four SEAD-MAs that have been mated to a SIR-74-AC rocket booster system. A module is included along with the SCALS placed on the transport, allowing the aircraft to take part in networked attacks and other maneuvers with other armed aircraft, seamlessly integrating an otherwise passive platform into the African networked warmachine. Said module normally consists of a number of terminals and other computational devices, along with a dedicated crew of 2 or more weapons officers. SCALS birdcages themselves can be placed on a transport aircraft, which can then rapidly eject the SCALS pallets and the stored SEAD-MAs.The SEAD-MAs themselves then initiate standard wing deployment and engine ignition sequences.

The SCALS system can also be loaded as is into the belly bay of a B-12 Recluse or F-12 Tarantula, as well as similarly dimensioned allied heavy bomber airframes. Upgrades are underway to onboard electronics to ensure said bombers will not need the SCALS command and control module, relegating the task to existing threat identification systems or allied forces in the vicinity.

My nation is looking for a gun to replace some of our soldiers' FN SCARs. I feel that the BFG-15 is a good replacement weapon. That being said, I want at least a third to a half of my soldiers equipped with this weapon with some extras, so I would like to put forward am order for three hundred thousand BFG-15s. Also, regarding the Dunces, I would like an initial shipment of fifty of these for a test run.
The BFG-15 is not a replacement for an infantry combat rifle. It is a replacement for legacy Browning M2 heavy machine guns currently being used on vehicle or stationary mounts.

The Principality will vote Aye on on the KwaZulu's inclusion into the AUP.

The vote stands at Aye: 3, Nay: 0, Abstain: 0

Body: Dear Principality of Aeon:

As you may or may not have heard, the people of Edean are currently involved in a massive war on account of the forces of Zarfef of the Aether Empire who attacked our lands last week. While we cannot ascertain your feelings on the matter, we do know that your people's did have mutual interactions in the past. We would therefore, like to know if you would object to our purchasing an additional 15 squadrons x 12 planes = 180 R F/B-0 Brown Widows from you. These fighters have served Liberty Air extremely well in our battles against their forces and even survived the EMF bursts from the air-burst nuclear blast at Mistwood Citadel where many of our bases are located. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to purchase these aircraft, so if it is deemed acceptable, we have the money on hand ready for shipment in Gilder or gold bullion in case of your concern over the devaluation of our currency.

Thank you,
Liberty Aerial Security

We at Military Aviation Complex, feel for your present and future losses. While we cannot do more than include you ever so warmly in our hearts and prayers, we can provide you with materials that should even the odds - at a reasonable cost, of course.

Know that MILAC is content with selling to its friends, nothing more, nothing less. It is truly fortunate that Edean is currently placed on the white list of the Nodic-era ARMS AND MUNITIONS '09 act which normally disallows East African hardware from being sold outside the state.

Payment will proceed however honored Edean wishes - we do not fear currency devaluation, for with our machines at your disposal, you WILL be victorious.

Yours truly,
Military Aviation Complex (MILAC) for the Principality of Aeon, Ruling House Sidamo
