  1. Takes a break from page 26 It's beautiful! I got a response from the true leader of ISX! Eh, I'll give you that. It doesn't change the fact that you attacked the alliance with the clear intention of forcing those members into your alliance. Is this not the so-called "forced recruitment" you spoke of? I don't have a problem with what you did. I do have a problem when you are hypocritical about it. Heads back to page 26
  2. Hey, I ain't saying you can't attack people, but complaining about unfair wars after y'all were fighting them is hypocritical. Also, I find it interesting that out of all the comments that you maybe should have answered to, you picked this one.
  3. Right. "Proper". Regardless, he had dissolved the AA and ran away, and you still attacked everyone anyways. Please come up with a better excuse. It is kind of funny though. You are complaining that everyone is still attacking ISX even though you are still a member with permissions, saying that there is no casus belli, but apparently you attacking a bunch of people from an alliance that your target left IS a proper casus belli? You can't have it both ways. Either way though, it looks like your opponents have a more sound foundation than you do. And for some reason, I am not surprised. Also: >inb4 Junka posts an essay or video that no one will ever read/watch.
  4. Ah, Ad Hominem. Congrats on destroying what minuscule "moral higher ground" you could have claimed. Anyways, what I notice is that ISX loses about 10% of it's NS in the span of a day (about 200,000 out of 2,000,000) and then Junka retires. Ok, that is understandable, people have been asking that he drops his leadership position for a while now. His execution of it was terrible though. Instead of just saying that he is retiring, he promises that he will attack anyone who does not peace out ISX. Because of that, any chance in anyone believing that he wants peace was destroyed. Next, Galerion was the Hand of the King before his promotion, so he would make a sensible choice. It would make sense that Junka stays on as an advisor, but there is a problem with that: Junka is known for trying to control the outcomes on both sides, as well as having everything his way. Combine that with the fact that Galerion has never really done anything on the inter-alliance stage, and that he really only operated as Junka's assistant, and no one will believe that he is the actual ruler of ISX, whether it is true or not. Moving on, there is Galerion's presence, or lack thereof in the OWF. There was never any public acceptance of the position of power, and there is only one post of his that I can recall from this twenty-some page thread, with many, many more from Junka. Sure, a public acceptance thread is not required, but it would do at least something to verify Galerion. All we are seeing here is Junka saying that he passed power along, while continuously fighting back and making promises that he should not have the power to be making. Is he the official spokesperson of ISX? Are his comments promises or just empty threats? Lastly, Junka stepped on a few too many toes. Any allies or protectors he could have had was driven away by him, so he has no allies to call for help. Look at the earlier posts--Hitchcock, who up until recently was a staunch supporter of Junka, quickly tempered that attitude into something that was lukewarm at best. So what is Junka's only option? To double down on what he does best--writing essays and trying to proliferate a standard for war when it will suit him. He speaks of a just war, but only does so when it benefits him. I implore you, please ask him of the SNX offensive against the remnants of AFRO--an alliance that was dissolved earlier that day, had no communication infrastructure in place, and was largely inactive. Where was Junka's justice in that? It was just him forcing former members of SNX back into SNX for some reasons that were never elucidated. If what some of the others on this thread are saying the truth, that wasn't even an isolated event. Why should he be given a "just war" when he won't extend the same courtesy to others? It does reek of hypocrisy. EDIT: There, that was my two cents.
  5. Good luck everybody! OOC: Never thought I'd see the "Hot" tag on a topic on the CN forums in this day and age...
  6. Quite the stimulating response. Truly your eloquence is without equal.
  7. Um, I know I'm a little new to the politics of Planet Bob, but shouldn't inter-alliance diplomacy include a leader of one of the alliances, or at least keep the leaders in the know?
  8. I know that this is a bit of a grave dig at this point, but I would like to point out that AFRO was hardly a "free sovereign alliance" by the time that MC left in a fit of rage, at least from an activity point of view. Even though the forums was woefully incomplete, there were multiple attempts from irule (may his nation rest in peace) to boost activity, and posts would only come once every few days. The alliance was so inactive, that there is no reason to call it an alliance. Not only was AFRO incapable of protecting their own members due to lack of communication and response, AFRO member nations were basically left to their own devices when SNX came. No communication, no aid flow, no coordination. With no leadership in place either, how could AFRO be considered a free sovereign alliance?
  9. ...Right. I'll tell you what, since you clearly believe what you believe and I believe what I believe, I'll leave it at that. I don't think that anything I'll say will even cause you to waver, if your delusions of grandeur are any indication. Hey, if being verbally ripped apart by White Chocolate won't change your mind, nothing will. (And pwease don't verbally rip me apart, White Chocolate. Pwease. )
  10. Kinda of like how you were "valiantly fighting" GOONS? Stonewall highlighted how...arduous...the task must have been in the SNX declaration of war thread, if you care to check it out. I must say Sephiroth, the switch to short replies from eye-gouging walls of text is a welcome change. Will this change be of a more permanent variety?
  11. Forgive me, I forgot that you needed a host of wonders in order to loot better funded nations to live longer in these wars. And regardless if Rydin needs money or not, the fact of the matter is that he has an entire alliance of bigger nations who can send him the money that he needs. And if your poorly disguised plea was any indication, you do not.
  12. Dang Poppa, I almost didn't see this. It's sad to see you go, I had a blast with you back in GPF. Good luck in your future endeavors, and I hope you come back.
  13. You know what this reminds me of? Those militia guys who were occupying federal land a bit back, and saying that they will never leave. Shortly before they send out a request for snacks to help them during their occupation. You can't say that you'll fight until the last nation just before you blatantly ask for aid from nations around CN. And if the battle reports coming from your nation are any indication, you don't have too much money left, forcing you to ask for outside help.
  14. I'm more concerned with the guy who has a 16% tax rate. Since when was that ever a good idea?
  15. AND DIDN't I CALL IT!!! Seriously though, good job with the speech. It's highly reminiscent of Bush's whole 'War on Terror' Speech.
  16. Good luck with the war effort, have to say though that I saw this coming with the back and forth in the other thread with Sephiroth a few days ago. Speaking of Sephiroth, 3, 2, 1...
  17. Dear Spehiroth, I am quick to notice that you left most of my post preceding my previous post unchallenged. Are you going to leave all else that I mentioned in that post unchallenged? Warmest Regards, Joel James
  18. Dear Sephiroth, Given how you likened Junka's current incarnation to his previous one, I find myself incredulous that you would send any form of unattached monetary aid without prompting for the sole reason of expediting growth. Furthermore, you claim as such, but I do not see any proof of such a claim. Given that, I am forced to say that I cannot take such a fact into consideration. I would also like to point out that SNX also has their own Senate seat on Brown. Lastly, if you could post a response to my earlier post soon, it would be highly appreciated. Warmest Regards, Joel James
  19. Dear Sephiroth, First of all, I would like to apologize about the disparaging comment I made earlier regarding spell check. I was unaware that you are currently intoxicated, something that has been mentioned to have occurred during a prior occurrence. While I am quite sure that these proceedings are quite stressful and this long thread belies your diplomatic endurance, I urge you to remain sober in the future. Being at less than full mental capacity can prove disastrous in any diplomatic situation, and turning to drink at a crucial juncture reflects poorly both on yourself and the limits of your self-control. While you say that Junka's help against the enemies of the LPC would more than make up for his past transgressions, I see that you have missed a crucial phrase at the end of the sentence. Now I understand that it is quite difficult to think clearly through intoxication, so let me aid you by finishing the sentence for you. The complete phrase you were probably intending was "past mistakes against you" or "past mistakes against your interests". Lastly, your comparison between Junka and GOONS show that you believe either Junka is an extreme threat given that it eclipses the power of GOONS, or you think that GOONS is pathetically weak. Given the long and proud history of GOONS, I will believe that it is the former that you were implying. Given that, I appreciate the compliment that you paid. Warmest Regards, Joel James
  20. I speak for myself when i say this, but who are you to offer this "forgiveness" to others, and who are you to deem others as "forgivable" and "unforgivable"? You assume too much when you assume to speak for the Brown Sphere. Your position looks even less defensible by your statement that you approached Junka in an effort to convince him to rule Brown Sphere with you, especially since you said that Junka joined the Brown Sphere for nefarious reasons. Next, you claim that Junka is greedy for power, and that he is unwilling to share that power with anyone. This statement could not be much more false. Junka has tried multiple times to decentralize the power of his alliance in the event that something happens to him. I never put too much stock in such an event happening, but given the number of threats that you spew, I now realize that the contingency plan is not unfounded. Junka wants to give his power away, and the structure of SNX has been overhauled with a majority vote from the members of the alliance. Before you say anything about Junka being fearful of you and creating this contingency plan in response to you, this is not true either. A good leader takes any and all threats seriously, and has plans in place just in case something unforeseen happens. If you believe that this makes Junka weak, it would mean that you are severely lacking in many facets of leadership. Lastly, at least take some time to fix the spelling mistakes in your posts. While a few mistakes here and there are okay, a simple run through spell check should take care of most of the issues. If you do not know what this "spell check" is, it should be found under the editing tab of most, if not all, word processors. I know that nothing I have just said will convince you. In fact, if your responses in this thread are any indication, you will claim that I have been brainwashed by Junka, You'll also claim that I am an enemy and traitor of brown, and that I should seek (your) forgiveness. Warmest Regards, Joel James
  21. If anything it should have been higher than 89%, my apologies for not voting. I agree though, you have done much for SNX, pulling us all up even when we didn't do nearly our fair share of it. I did have my reservations about rejoining SNX, but I am glad that I stood with you, and I plan to do so for a long time to come.
  22. Good to see that the five month plan is finally completed, this change is surely a sign of the good year to come.
  23. Sad to see you go, I remember being in UPN in a past life, all the way up until my nation was deleted due to inactivity since I went abroad for a year. I had a great time in UPN, and met a lot of good people there during my stay, even toying with the idea of running for office. Take care you guys, it is sad to see such a pillar of CN go.
