African Unity Pact Actions Thread

Manticore only has hundred soldiers spread across two islands and they have the security situation well under control as all Canadian offensive weaponary has now been taken down and sent back to the Manticore homeland and working with the local police force, which is made up of local Africans, we have stopped any and all incidents from happening. However, we are not without compromise and we shall discuss with the head of the local security on Sao Tome about allowing Haven to build a military base on their soil though the islands would still have to remain independant unless Haven begins talks with them to discuss changing this.

OOC: I have nothing against you taking the islands OOC but IC wise my government would.

OOC: Whether you were busy or not is besides the point. The fact of the matter was you were popping in out out of private message and I suggested at least once that you just invade them. You did have time a plenty to do it then and were encouraged to do so before anyone else got there.

You still have plenty of land in your own nation that you aren't utilizing for a base of any sort.

To be honest, I don't support anyone in the AUP getting more land unless they've been actively utilizing your own lands first and being active within the AUP. That goes for everyone, myself included.

On a separate note, the PRA would like to propose the development of a new AUP base within the Northern African Protectorate zone to offer an area to station AUP troops away from local groups and promote self-rule and autonomous growth, at the following location, but we are also open to discussing other possible locations:

"I seem to have some recollection of Aeon creating a base in the Sud Italia Protectorate. If so, perhaps we could expand their base and keep our influence to a minimum?"

We apologize for overlooking the previous actions of Aeon, and agree to this amendment.

My fellow members this is a dire time for Africa as the Space Elevator had been destroyed due to a terrorist attack and because of the Lunar Republic's inability to stop such an attack. This is totally unacceptable and as more debris falls to the planet's surface more African lives will be lost and whilst we must look for the terrorists responsible the government of the Lunar Republic must be held accountable for their inability to defend the structure.

That is why we in the Royal Kingdom of Manticore call on all our brothers and sisters in calling for the entire Lunar Republic government to stand down and hand themselves over to the AUP to face trial for helping to cause the deaths of our people. We hope you will stand with us and ensure that justice is brought to those responsible.

"Legion advises a cautious approach to the situation and will point out to Manticore that the Lunar Republic probably suffered the highest in terms of loss of life as it was their personnel manning the ground stations of the Space Elevator. The Lunar Republic has affirmed they will be pulling out of the area once they've completed a clean up. Legion is pressing them to issue long term death benefits and medical subsidies to those affected by the attack.

This was not just an attack on Africa, it was an attack on all of mankind. Give time a chance to bring clarity to the situation before charging in rashly. After all, while the Loonies did fail, a terrorist organization did succeed, I certainly find the fact that they are still running about worrisome."

ooc: I'll say now, Haven can have the land only if Haven actively rps the acquisition of the land in something more than 5000 men move from x to y.

Shouldn't we try and rebuild a 'space elevator' for African use only? It would be harder to destroy, because it could only be used by Africans, so we would be able to put a security force into the area. What says the rest of you? Should we do this or not?

The Imperium- private

The Legion Combat Engineering Regiment had accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time. In just a couple weeks they had expanded the runways using temporary steel matting enough to begin the full scale landing of heavy transport aircraft. With this accomplished the Legion Airborne Regiments start trickling in with each flight that brings men and materials into the area. The first wave of Airborne has to date been logistical specialists and three full companies of Airborne Infantrymen who are assigned to bolster the AUP Base Security.

Troopships carrying the rest of the two regiments will arrive in a few short days. Upon arrival they will find a well appointed temporary tent city waiting for them. They will also find mess-tents, showering facilities, laundry centers, firing ranges, and several urban warfare training centers. The regiment's commanders have an ambitious schedule of training to prepare their men for possible heavy engagements inside of Levantia should it become necessary to deploy for the purposes of stabilizing the area.

Legion Special Forces Teams have quietly moved into position along the Levantia/Imperium border. They are driving specially modified civilian vehicles that on the outside look like your average wreck on wheels. On the inside they have a powerful engine, armor, and communications. The Legion Special Forces Troopers are quietly waiting along the border before commencing their part of the operation which will be infiltrating Levantia and performing direct action missions on specific targets that have been deemed unstable elements.

Levantia

The Legion humanitarian bases are suddenly expanded with the arrival of a single Legion Naval Infantry Regiment for each humanitarian base. They rapidly dig in and Force Recon Scouts are sent to accurately locate the Vicidalian refugees. The Force Recon Scouts travel at night, are dressed in local clothing, and have been issued with local currency and identification. The three man teams are also equipped with a variety of well founded cover stories to explain their presence should they get picked up by the local police.

Fire Base Andy

The Legion Strategic Reserve consisting of the vehicles and equipment needed to man an Armored Cavalry Regiment is ordered to sea. Specifically their orders are to make full speed to the Imperium and to offload the vehicles at the Imperium AUP Base. The motive for this move is currently unannounced, but privately the logic is to ensure sufficient forces in place to deal with all manner of local issues, primarily those involving Levantia.

West Africa

The West African Division begins its first evolution of field training exercises. West Africans have assumed full responsibility for the payment of their civil works and other government services. Further, they have completed local elections and have nominated their representative to Legion's Parliament.

Fire Base Opie

Legion Forces are drawn down to the level of 6500 strong with the receding of the Lunar Republic's threats of aggression.

Aremor

Local projects are on-going, nothing of significance has arisen.

Legion Technological Requests

Legion still wishes to update it's strike fighter fleet. We are actively seeking a modern design that can be locally produced and serviced inside of Legion.

They would not find any Vicidalians, because these left for Nouvelle-Vicidalia.

OOC: The only Vicidalian outside my control (though I still RP them) is Dalian. If you want to care about Vicidalians, go care about her. Else, mess with someone else's citizens.

OOC: you'll note this thread is closed to those who are not AUP members. Feel free to take your snotty attitude elsewhere. As I have no information icly that your meatbags were relocated my rp will continue, though the outcome will be adjusted accordingly.

Now, if you persist in acting like an uppity snot about this, the following will occur. I'll point out that Levantia's coast is being blockaded at the moment by my navy and insist you demonstrate how you waltzed in. Further, I'll play another card that may well throw the ownership of your refugees into dispute. A dispute I'm pretty sure I can win.

If I do win, I'll send them directly to the nearest labor camp.

That's if you persist. I've no more patience for you, or your shrewish vindictive little ways.

Be well, and buzz off.

Private to the Imperium

We intend on fielding an Armored Cavalry Regiment to the border between the Imperium and Levantia. Should the Airborne drop go sour and the units become trapped we plan on fighting our way in to free them, hence the armored regiment. We assuredly would dearly enjoy whatever support you can lend in the form of armor and airpower.

What is the current status of your armored and air forces?

Private response to Legion

"Current forces located near to Levantia consist of the 1st and 2nd Imperial Armour squadron, numbering twenty four battle tanks with 1st Air Cavalry Squadron of six gunships and two flights of six F-15 fighter bombers for air support. All of these forces are on standby and can be deployed in very little time due to the state of martial law in the nation."

You may want to increase your force strength as a single Legion Armored Cavalry Regiment masses 108 MBTs, 114 IFVs, and other units. While we predict a single ACR will be sufficient, we do acknowledge that predictions have a funny way ending up not working out quite right.

"Understood. Be aware it could take up to twenty four hours to fully assemble a force at Regiment strength though we will attempt to expediate this. As long as Legion doesn't mind waiting we shall have the force ready to support any actions undertaken also we will eb placing our force under Legion command to avoid any command and control issues. You tell our forces where to go and were to fight."
