Connections, connections. He is welcome to visit Arctica, provided he is accompanied by an adult. There's all of South Africa to visit, and perhaps Madagascar, or the Indian Ocean islands. The islands aren't very significant, but they are quite pleasant. I wouldn't recommend Mozambique or the inland countries for sightseeing and people-meeting 'less he wants to get robbed or something, or perhaps visit the copper mines in Zambia (yawn) or the Kariba Dam (yawn).
