The NpO treaty had a similar clause if memory serves, and there were already mild talks between a few members of gov about dropping the treaty during a rather poor run in with one of NpO's ranking members. Last time i checked, you were the one that took that query. I could be wrong though, I lack the proof due to a successful spying attempt during the war.
The military position you are talking about was an attack on our protectorate, chaining us directly. Not a protectorate being allied to one of our allies. There is a difference.
To Airme and Trace, I'll respect your words, I like you both, and I understand the position (even if neither of you were in either alliance at the time). However, you have both been in a similar position before. We indeed have friends on both sides of the conflict, as did you then. I hated every moment of neutrality, watching old friends and new getting killed in a blast of green light. But there wasn't much that could be done without stabbing someone in the back with a direct attack.
