1. Usually I skip several pages a time to get the gist of things. This thread was the first in a very long time where I read every page for the lulz and amazements. Pork, you still got your OP flow and witty, brush it off my shoulders humour intact regardless of the situation - kudos. SLCB still make fantastically awesome announcements. And multi is smart, he knows his stuff and he knew that was a provocative CB. I'm not too sure about the logs and all but I've come to the conclusion that: 1. When I first read the OP, I interpreted it to mean that SOS was the guilty party. 2. SOS (the wronged) has no balls - rather it is SLCB that have the meatballs in their soup. and 3. My alliance would have rolled yours for the spying. Much love to both entertaining parties.
2.
Apparently, 'boomerang' counts as a different direction to MK.
I smiled at this, very witty
3. STA under pez always provide the freshest, 'meat and potatoes' type of press conference in CN's history. How are relations between you and Valhalla?
4. A combination of merits and democracy is best. Your trium's will be tested during war since your Military Trium will be the 'first' of firsts.
5. For all those sheeple that are wanting the game to be 'interesting' by having an 'evil' NPO back show me and many others that you and your alliance that you are associated with are nothing but zombie meatshields. NPO is 1 of 4 alliances in this game that are in it to win it. You all are confusing 'evil' for ambition and purpose. We might not like NPO but I admire their drive and purpose. And TIO, have a damn coherent single foreign policy instead of allying with the various tentacles of CN's power structure like a frolicking Babylon laying herself out to everyone. Don't worry, it's not just you. Xiphosis was right in regards to knowing what he wants.
6.
Dearest friends in GATO, Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. Best Regards.
I definitely lol as well
7. If it's gov't sanctioned (explicit or implicit), roll the alliance. If it's individuals (no matter how many), drive them to ZI.
8. Congrats Argent. Top 2 consecutive showings is excellent. We'll stack this Silver along with our previous Gold next to our stash of other goodies and awards
9.
The issue is that GOD told GOONS to somehow make us (MK) not sign with TOP, or else GOD would cancel the treaty. Vanguard didn't want a MADP bloc to be connected to the NPO (one degree of separation), whereas here there would have been two non-chaining treaties between GOD and TOP. Revanche also made this announcement in anticipation [misdirected, but you've seen the thread I gather] of something potentially higher in the future, but at that stage unforseen. He was drawing a line in the sand for the bloc's future direction, not having a tantrum at the 11th hour. It is a very different situation. Xiph is just having a whine because he's not getting his way.
Revanche/Denial's tantrums consist of Shakespearean lines bursting with wit, insight and humour ( ), it just takes a slightly different form to Xiphosis'. The comparision between TOP-MK and NPO-MK are degrees of separation (you are right) which do not matter in the tactical sense, but does matterin the geostrategic sense. Xiphosis sees this as now he and others see TOP having two main axis of alignments (IRON and MK) - just like MK currently has two ( PB and CnG). Some people have been aware of closer ties and mutual respect between TOP-MK for several months now and the treaty between the two is a natural development. Some people will not like it because it 'jumped them' in terms of them being aware of it at only the 11th hour. Those people (Xip) did not have the time to just say something (like Denial) but had to be proactive about it. The only difference is that MK, knowing the effects, actually invited TOP to cross that line (as is their right). Xip reacted. Bashing occured. Consequences happened. And will continue to occur, much to the delight of many
10.
By the way, I look forward (and hope) to see you with Polar. A. I'm tired of the perception that SF is still all powerful when most of your signatories are average at best in overall efficiency and capability (and is not made up for by GOD and Rok), and B. I feel it would much more interesting politically, and in war, to have SF oppose us (MK,PB, CnG, TOP, etc).
FINALLY. We got some political drama! And this is coming from an ex very high MK member so it has to be taken seriously.
11. Whats the big problem here? Vanguard (under Denial) did the exact same thing after MK and NPO signed a low level treaty. Vanguard informed CnG that if anyone signed MDP+ higher with NPO, Vanguard would leave the bloc. It was a diplomatic warning and a political promise. MK should be aware of this before bashing GOD. I'm not sure about the specifics in regards to this but I do believe that GOD's main purpose is not in the wrong. How they went about (as others have stated prior to this) to ensure the continuity of their foreign policy is up for question. To ensure their FA policy is sound - to them - is not up for question. The big 'problem' is the now open split the prominent bloc and the remnants of a sizable bloc. GOONS motives behind this is obvious and transparant, no matter how eloquent the OP is (kudos to that btw). As for Xiphosis' post in regards to TOP...he is both correct and wrong, it is mainly an interaction of personalities and history. I look forward to the next war.
12.
Eh it was hinted at in the unedited DF disbandment OP, and several posts thereafter, before the raids begin coming in. This is the statement from the International: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=95819&view=findpost&p=2542289 This is the statement from TPE: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=95819&view=findpost&p=2542766
Yeah, hinted and explicit are 2 different things We all read the same thing. I suppose NEW's comprehension skills weren't that great.
13.
You forgot this part: DF was explicitly under protection of The International during disbandment. And regarding your last statement, You are saying MADP or bust? aka: no MDoAPs?....[s]MDoAPs[/s]? I am no great FA strategist, but I can tell you, regardless of the situation, that is a poor FA policy.
I was not aware of TI protecting DF - where did they explicitly say it? As for the FA part, I believe we are at two mindsets (nothing wrong with that). FAN doesn't have any treaties, but no one has aggressively touched us for about 1.5 years. We won't ever find ourselves in PC/iFOK's situation. FAN's leaders are more politically savant then that.
14.
PC and iFOK had an Optional Aggression treaty with NEW meaning you have the option to NOT follow in your allies footsteps when they make a silly act of aggression. I think NEW's non-allies as well as allies realize the war is unjust/doublefacepalm. I'd say thus far PC and iFok have played their cards wisely. This is clearly why Optional Aggression clauses exist, so you are not sentenced to death by a reckless ally. [ooc]Daft Punk in this Tron sound track is epic win. [/ooc]
DF disbanded before NEW's attacks. They also had less then 10 members. Their treaties weren't explicitly passed onwards post-death. Also, you have a reckless ally, then don't ally with them. Reap what you sow.
15. Congrats to FARK for earning that silver medal. We at FAN are proud of our % and total growth in various categories as well after nearly 2 years of the neon red-pink jackboot tapping on our jugular. Too bad our kryptonite blood rotted the foot and helped to bring it down. Congrats.
16. SpiderJ and Dilber's line of thinking is spot on. Gotta give credit to PC and iFOK for being politically intelligent.
17. Saw this coming for a couple of months, congrats.
18.
ohai thur Federation of Armed Nations whats up?
You got a long way to go amigo We've been dancing with MCXA and RIA for the last 3.5 score units (+2 months), and us three plan on dancing for awhile yet. Yes, we are, alongside Umbrella, the most consistent growth alliance out there. We are the Chuggers of Beer and incremental scores.
19. Can you all please go to war already? Geeze, each of you have a personality clash CB already. I guess you have to wait for All the Orders to be fully stocked before explicit moves are made.
20. We performed well, ending up with a bit over 109k NS damage, with 1 of our guys AWOL after the third day (RL). We'll break 120,000 next time, I promise. Thank you to RW, the other 9 FAN gladiators, the aiders, haters and thought provoking mother f****** within FAN. We finessed a couple of new things
I think everyone agrees on who won. This is a battle for the honor of third place!
I lol'd I'm lovin the drama. Big shout out to Sparta and Athens (Fyfe in particular) for some very tough nuts to crack during 10.10.10. Unfortunately we didn't tango with NpO too much, so I'll leave the deserved praise for them to others who fought them.
21. I remember test driving this for C&G. It was very good, with a couple minor kinks in it. It's best use is for attacking multiple alliances (like in Karma) to confuse the opposition into an effective and timely defense (like Karma). I see you've added new features, well done. Also, please run for Red Senate again. First join LOSS.
22. Good times back then, everything being fresh. The Norway one is still hilarious
23. Lol there are some good threads from 2006 that I forgot about - the emo guy and bollywood youtube ones are hilarious
24.
There's lots of green to be seen today as the trend continues but not much in the way of impressive gains with the most thrilling gainer The Foreign Division tacking on a voluptuous sixth of a point. Athens who waltzed just past Ragnarok was the only other to post a gain in the double digits giving them a score reminiscent of a walmart price tag. Only five alliances posted a loss of score, four of which were above the sanction line. The ugliest loss belonged to Orange Defense Network loosing a citrusy fifth of a point. Random Insanity Alliance scategorically steals the #19 spot back from Federation of Armed Nations by the skin of their teeth leaving a minute gap of only one one-hundredth of a point. I'm sure we will all be waiting with bated breath till tomorrows update to see if they hold on to the spot. Nothing too exciting for today but that just makes the fun times funner... Well, that's what the nice men in lab coats tell me at least. ^my attempt at a substitute commentary
Me guesta!
25.
Speak negatively in public about the Mushroom Kingdom? "That'll be $12,000,000 and 250 tech, pls." How cute.
This. MK messed this up beyond bad with the above and this will reverbate and accelerate the polarization of this world making you the bad guys...which is what some MKers want. You lost serious strategic ground here. Hell, RV won that mini PR war, but MK just lost this one with this OP. Standing by your guns is good but you chose the wrong words to express why (see above quote). Do you know how many times Vanguard and other direct and indirect MK allies would have been rolled by NPO and Co if negative PR = instant extortion and roll? Many alliances, many times over (we had Denial!). I'll be surprised if there is a war. RV and NSO won these two massive battles and would be smart to walk away victorious.
