  1. (So I wrote this whole big post and it evidently decided not to send, so, I'll be redoing that sometime soon.)
  2. Anonymous Qatari politician: "Cool story bro."
  3. Californian. Not that he's likely to accept.
  4. Snooty condescension doesn't make you any more mature than someone who curses like a sailor.
  5. Oh stop whining. You're being immensely childish right now and it's extremely unbecoming. You keep trying to use OOC justifications for IC demands/actions, and I'll have you remember that that is entirely against the rules. Alvonia's not going to be like "Oh, these people invading us did some nice things for us in the past, better roll over and let them walk all over us." It's ridiculous, and Zoot is correct. As I had stated previously, your idea of compromise is "I get everything I want and you get nothing. Deal?" and that's !@#$%^&*. Besides which, I think you're missing the fact that Alvonia just won, so your assertion that there was no hope of that is kind of self defeating isn't it? But go ahead, didn't get your way so you're going to leave the RP, how original.
  6. There's tube artillery with ranges out to 50 km. If they've got the really, really long range artillery there's a good chance that they could hit Vienna with it.
  7. It's your currency, it could be 1000:1 if you wanted!
  8. Allow me to enumerate why you're wrong. 1a) Your protectorate doesn't have the requisite troops to prevent someone rolling in it, this number being 75,000. I don't know the size of Rudy's forces ,but I do know that if Alvonia wants their land back that Rudy probably won't try to stop them. 2a) Furthermore, the protectorate is not established as per Markus' contesting of it. Just to cut you off, there's nothing in the rules that states one must have any portion of the map painted to maintain forces or contest incidents. 1b) This is an IC concern, if Alvonia wants their stuff back by way of treaty ,there's nothing in the rules that says "no." 2b) See 1a above. 3b) You're accusing me of OOC/IC crossing. Frankly I don't give a single fuck whether this goes on. Your point, furthermore, is entirely irrelevant. 4b) Your idea of compromise is "Give up and we'll occupy you just as we planned previously." That is not a compromise. Look in the mirror next time you say you're not willing to play with someone who won't compromise. Also. Terrorists? Only one side is firing rockets into a densely populated area. The other hasn't engaged in anything approaching terrorism.
  9. Because the rules are shoddy and there's nothing, at this point, that's keeping him from rolling back into AT LEAST the majority of his territory, as the majority of it is not in conflict and it's been more than two weeks since he left his nation, so he fulfills the requisites for rerolling. And finally, of three dicks, he's at least not the worst, so y'all can't even try to pull that card.
  10. Equally annoying, which only makes its use all that much worse about half the time.
  11. The more I hear the word "Hegemony" the more it annoys me.
  12. The Nordic Battle Group wouldn't be unmolested by heavy weapons for long. Though Royalist guns remained silent, waiting for an appropriate time to strike, Rafale etched the sky in tentative, cautious airstrike, both from the Naval base at Brest and more inland Royalist bases. The NOSTRADAMUS Radar system did its best to keep track of the various Nordic and Nationalist sorties, but there were only so much information that could be given to the airforce at a time. The information was used to conduct cautious aerial superiority missions across the whole theatre, but there was a limited area that could be used as an operations area without undue risk of interception by land-based systems. With Japanese, Republican, and Havenist reinforcement from the South, a defensive formation was established outside Dijon. As was typical, a twenty kilometer-wide zone of depth was established where Les Chausseurs would reign, artillery set up where they could easily support anywhere in the zone. Les Cuirassiers would be set behind the lines where they could easily move to counter any large-scale armored advance by the Nordisk forces and the False and Main line of Fusilliers were set just 10 kilometers outside the city itself. Les Harculeurs would, of course, be set to monitor the Nordisk advance and relay much needed information back to the main lines. Reply from Abigail of Snow Haven, At this time, your terms are deemed to be unacceptable by myself and my comrades. We cannot be sure of the words of Nordisk, considering that subterfuge and false words have already been deployed by your government in an effort to gain some advantage. We are also sure that Monsieur Sanicheau would be unlikely to keep such an arrangement for longer than it suited him. Furthermore, a betrayal of a coalition so recently joined would be incredibly damaging to credibility and would lead to a critical disillusionment in my people on whether or not I am fit to rule. We will not surrender, nor will we allow a foreign power to occupy territory that is sovereign French. ~Queen Abigail of Snow Haven Royalist Long-Range artillery would immediately begin to play Cat-and-Mouse with both the Nordisk and Nationalist artillery systems. Nationalist infantry forces would begin to move into what they knew would be a Royalist depth-zone, their own Chasseurs being the first to engage their counterparts, Fusilier not being far behind. Grenadiers would be used to clear out pockets of Royalist resistance, in spite of airstrikes and artillery lodged against them, as they well knew that any major armored advance too early would provoke a response in kind by the Royalists before it could reach a proper objective. The Exclusion zone had to be cut down and recon forces eliminated before the armored attack could spearhead a section of the Royalist line. Casualties would be heavy, but the tactic practically necessitated such. From l'Amiral du Grand Marine de la Mer du Nord, To Nordisk Rike, I will tell you what we have told the Nationalist government, the Reform Government, and my fellow Admirals: We will not leave our posts at Calais for any reason excluding the preservation of French interests as a whole. We will not support any party of the Civil War, if it is so clear that the Nationalists will win, you should not require our help in any way. We look forward to seeing an end to the conflict, but we will not participate. ~Amiral Jon de Lanq [hr] From Havenist Front, To Japanese Reinforcement, We require your assistance in securing the left flank in order to keep Nordisk forces from spilling through any weak-points created by their advance, by which they could move into Central France. Any harrying of enemy forces you can manage would be incredibly helpful. We are preparing to integrate your forces into our communication of NOSTRADAMUS intelligence.
  13. "We simply wish to know that the Channel will not be used in a manner detrimental to we who stand on the other side of it. It has become clear to us that territory that is not necessarily hostile to our goals and our nation can still be used against us by those who are, and we do not wish for the Channel to become another one of those areas. Our forces are perfectly willing to stand with yours side-by-side while you, as you say "Restore order and administration," but understand that we will not be leaving."
  14. I would roll into that. If only to be incredibly Capitalist and expand my city out to be a rather sensible chunk of land.
  15. Xerxes took his seat, "First and foremost, I speak for all that I represent when I congratulate you and your countrymen on forging a strong nation in these lands, where there was once so much chaos and division. As your neighbor to the West, we wish to be your friends, more than anything else. There are those who do not trust the stability of your fledgling nation, but who are we to judge when we are hardly much older. I, for one, trust that you can succeed."
  16. Saying "They had four days to evacuate" is fairly silly as an excuse, I'm just going to outright say it. Not only are some people entirely incapable of leaving at all, it's nearly impossible to evacuate a metropol of 4 million people in anything less than two weeks, much less a little more than half of one. Hungary-Slovakia and Belarus are indiscriminately bombarding a civilian population they gave no reasonable chance to get out of the way. Might as well just go firebomb Dresden for all the strategic use it has. [/Criticism]
  17. Xerxes didn't take long to touchdown in Azadistan. He was wearing a crisp suit and his standard, well cropped beard, but aside from that he made no concessions to religion or formality in his attire, though hardly more concessions need be made to make him any more formal. He waved to anyone present when he landed and smiled brightly. It was something he did often, and no matter how often he was greeted with the press outside a plane, his undying enthusiasm was never dimmed. Of course, that didn't mean that he didn't view the clamoring press with any less disdain than most people in his position. The politicization of the news was something he was well aware of and the various spins that had been put on his words, all meant to be good natured and helpful, had made him realize that it was better not to say anything at all. He made his way to the place of the meeting, where he was eager to meet the leader of this new nation that had appeared out of Central Asia.
  18. Just to be clear, the standing ruling on this is "No" and was issued by me based on the fact that there are no outstanding circumstances that would warrant the issuing of waiver, and besides that, the stated intent is to roll into the British Isles, which are presently contested and thus not eligible for a waiver regardless.
  19. From the incredibly productive meeting in Tehran, Burhan al-Samara would not fly home. He had other meetings that needed attending, and other acquisitions to make before he was through this week. The flight to Riyadh would be longer than the first one, and as such, the festivities would be somewhat more mild, necessary to make them prolonged enough to get him there. When he dismounted, he was still remarkably well groomed, which wouldn't be expected of a lesser man, but he was special. He smiled and waved to anyone who would be taking pictures, which the press always were, and waited for his car to be unloaded so he could drive to the palace of the Arabian Prince. When he arrived, he was no less enthusiastic than when he had gotten to the palace of the Persian royalty. An infectious smile on his face, he mounted the steps up to the grand doors. His appointment was very soon.
  20. "The Arabian Confederation formally recognizes this new Central Asian nation, and hope that the new-found stability and peace of the Central Asian region can last." -Xerxes, Arab Confederate President [Private] The Confederate government finds it appropriate that entry-level relations should be established with out newest neighbors post-haste in order to work through any differences in border concerns, trade issues, and military matters. Should the Union of Azadistan wish, we would like to get this started post haste.
