Global Alliance and Treaty Organization Dispatch from the Assembly Chairman Greetings all, With GATO's elections nearing a close in a bit over 24 hours, I've already taken the time to give the many inhabitants of the vetted Halls of the General Assembly my final thoughts and parting words of wisdom. In the past two and a half months, I feel that GATO has made great strides as an alliance; nothing like the alliance that was once defeated by the powers of One Vision. What I see before me is an alliance with a lot of promise and a lot of room to grow. Admittedly during my time, I haven't had the chance to get around to as many alliances as I had originally hoped, but I do hope that GATO's relations with the rest of CN continue to foster goodwill. Much like the alliance itself, there is a great potential. I'd like to express gratitude to all the well-wishers of GATO since our departure from the Viceroyship and back into the realm of sovereignty. While I've found myself differing with the community in the past (I'm a notoriously stubborn man ), I can honestly say that I'm quite thankful for everyone who has held a special place in their hearts and minds for GATO. That's an interesting take on it, but people were already well aware at this time. In fact I know so because you approached me about it in the first place. My concern was making sure the offended party, in this case porksaber, would receive a satisfactory apology. Uranium apologized for the actions and porksaber accepted the apology. That was my goal. I would've preferred they could personally resolve their differences, because I tend to think these public announcements do little to help the situation. In the end porksaber wanted a public apology as opposed to a private one, so that's what ended up happening. It doesn't atone for Uranium's actions, and I don't believe anyone here is suggesting as much (though I haven't had a chance to read each and every post), but the point was to mediate between porksaber and Uranium. It is my hope that this problem never arises again between any members of the CyberNations community. And I reiterate that I'm glad that we were able to resolve this one. It doesn't solve the problem, obviously, but it has helped ease the tension between two community members. -Kev

Point taken here, as well (OOC: The ill-fated sarcastic poke...one day it'll be easier to discern ) As for the continued references toward our relationship with Pacifica, I can only say this: this isn't about salvaging Pacifica. It's mostly about Karma. I'm not defending NPO, nor am I trying to get them an easy out. That is entirely Karma's purview. I may have my own opinions, but I've already stated they're nonstarter in the larger scope of things. So don't misread me that way, please. I just feel that we're in a changing time and it certainly warrants a discussion on how we ought to conduct ourselves and how we ought to view war. With our troubled past in mind, it doesn't seem all that outlandish to me to push for a change in our conduct. For the most part, there has been a positive shift.
