  1. Ugh, this argument again; and ignore me because I actually know how to build a nation at a pace faster than two wonders in almost a year? Makes a lot of sense. Accepted rate amongst most alliances of any note is 6/200; it can vary - I've got a few 18/500's going and a very nice 9/300, but the general accepted rate is 6/200, as it promotes long term sustainable tech selling. (The only person you will find arguing that 6/100 is an acceptable tech dealing rate is Fox Fire; while people do deal at that rate, it is generally considered to be ripping of the tech buyer and frowned upon)
  2. Uh... Standard tech deal is 6 million for 200 tech; using numbers like you have above is a huge waste of aid slots. Also, I'd suggest joining an alliance; they will help you learn the ropes. Naturally, I'd recommend Pacifica, whose forums you can find here - npowned.net However, if you want a neutral alliance I'd suggest the GPA, whose forums you can find here - http://cn-gpa.com/ Edit: Also, have you changed your resources yet? If not, there's a hole in my trade circle (basically, a trade circle is a group of nations trading together for maximum benefit; far better than going with random trades which it appears you have done so far) I'd love to have filled, if you would be willing to fill it
  3. Not a terrible fight, though these two... http://tournament.cybernations.net/war_information.asp?ID=1041 http://tournament.cybernations.net/war_information.asp?ID=1021 :( The casualty god is disappoint.
  4. Ah :P Then I'll change this bug report to pointing out the 'bug' in the info index :P
  5. From the TE 'about' page: "Each vessel type has an infrastructure support requirement as defined by Vessel Infrastructure (see vessel abilities chart below) which limits the number of each vessel type a nation can purchase based on that nations infrastructure level. (ie. A nation with 200 infrastructure would be able to build 1 Corvette (+1 x Drydocks) and 1 Landing Ship (+1 x Shipyards).) A nation must also have at least 250 land in order to purchase naval vessels. Both attacking and defending nations must have at least 250 land in order for attacking nations to operate their navy against another nation (If a defending nation has less than 250 miles of land but still has navy vessels on hand then Naval Attack operations against it are allowed). Nations that are in war mode may purchase up to 5 navy vessels per day. Navies are limited to 3 action slots per day. A player can use these action slots against a single enemy nation or use them against 3 separate nations. Nations must be at war with a nation in order to engage their navies against one another via the various attack types below:"
  6. I have less than 250 land (120 without modifiers, 168 with modifiers) but my opponent was still able to blockade me
  7. Generally a good advise RE: not stopping selling for non-neutral nations, though if you are a neutral it is a questionable one; thanks to the perma-peace they do have the ability to grow an upper tier nation that can easily hold its own against far older foes (and is far more useful to their alliance than another tech seller)
  8. CBF reading this; all I can say is please let this coup succeed so that I don't ever have to see posts like this again.
  9. I think I would have gone weeks without noticing if it wasn't for this post

  11. Second one is easy. The first one, not so easy. I could swear that 50% of the 'people' on the internet are actually cats.
  12. Did you know: Gopherbashi lied when he said all future 'Did you know''s would be about cats.
  13. I find myself wondering why you used 'practically' no reason.
  14. Eh, it's debatable Somewhere between 3999.99 and 4999.99 infra is what I'd advise.
  15. It seems more likely they are included everywhere, but it only shows in the upper tier since elsewhere the rule is the strength based one rather than the nation rank based one.
  16. The GPA, as far as I know, and such a situation has been discussed to a limited extent, would not select the neutral option. The fun is in that there is a risk we (well, they now) could 'lose'; if that risk vanished a lot of the reason to play would go to.
  17. They can already be pulled down. You just need to convince the GPA/WTF to do it (and probably run the military campaign for them)
  18. Bloody Harkonnens. However, I'd still suggest you join Pacifica, for all the reasons explained above and more.
  19. Not quite correct; it is a good general rule to follow, but these upkeep 'spikes' only occur at certain levels; aside from those levels the increase is rather linear. These spikes occur at 1000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 8000 and 15.000 infra As for purchasing infra, purchasing it 100 at the time is the most efficient method. In regards to saving up for the interest, you shouldn't need to do that; start tech trading and back collecting (I'll leave explaining that to the alliance you join, but I would recommend you stop purchasing anything and collecting taxes until you get it explained to you) Finally, re: getting attacked, I would sell those tanks; the upkeep means that its not worth it and, really, a few thousand soldiers and tanks are not going to deter a raider unless they are also new. However, I would agree with the others on joining an alliance; it is the best method to prevent attacks Naturally, I would recommend the New Pacific Order; you can find her forums here: http://cn.npowned.net/ If you don't feel Pacifica is for you, then I would suggest joining an alliance of at least 50 members; less than that and they will struggle to both defend you and teach you about the game
  20. You know, if we are too lazy to vote we are also too lazy to vote that we are too lazy to vote. I think that makes sense...
  21. I don't know if my anatidaephobia is going to get better or worse following this annoucement. Anyway, this is somewhat saddening to see.
  22. Deal, as long as I get to nuke Kurdanak and Samwise. That's because most people who would vote no don't care enough/are too lazy, including yours truly.
  23. The first is pretty much are you willing to go to war? Tbh, I'ld recommend a larger alliance for a new player as it generally has greater capacity to teach the new player.
  24. Three questions first: Interventionist or Isolationist? Meritocracy or Democracy? Small or Large?
