The southeastern portion of the former United States had seen many nations in the region come and go. Louisiana, Tennessee Federation, the previous incarnation of Pravus Ingruo, several reincarnations of the United States, the Federated States, and others have all ruled in this region but eventually withered away, replaced by new states. Now, the Empire of Pravus Ingruo dominates the eastern portion of the region, with the Cajun Federation dominating another good-sized part of it. However, there was one part of the Southeast that had yet to be unoccupied: the region that comprised of the former states of Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. That region had been devoid of any actual nation controlling it for a while, ever since the collapse of the FSA. However, there was a group of individuals hailing from the three states who sought to establish a new nation, remembering the legacy that the Tennessee Federation of old had left behind. Among them was 52 year old Alabaman native Thomas Beckett, who was actually the leader of the movement. In recent days, mass peaceful demonstrations were held in cities throughout the three states. Finally, a broadcast was held in a TV station in Montgomery, the capital of Alabama. In it, Beckett was sitting in front of an Alabama flag, dressed in a well-tended suit. He began by saying "Good afternoon, people of Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. As you know, we have been living as a mere Protectorate ever since the downfall of the Federated States. However, some of us have been wanting for us to be an independent nation. As you can see, we have been able to hold demonstrations throughout the region. Now, I am proud to announce that we are now a nation, as we are beginning to establish a national government. I hereby declare the Dixie Confederacy to be officially a nation! Now, I bid you good bye, fellow Dixieans and I hope we all will prosper under our new nation!"

[b]Halifax, Nova Scotia 1457 Hours[/b] It was a bright and sunny day in Halifax, with barely any clouds in the northern Atlantic sky. However, on this seemingly beautiful day, trouble stirred. All across the nation, mass riots took place in cities and towns throughout the nation. From cities like Halifax to tiny fishing communities like Peggys Cove, people were rioting, looting, killing, and burning. It was beyond the military's control. Then, the death blow struck. During a public speech held by the President in order to calm the people down in wake of the riots, a remote bomb that was planted on the stage used by the President and his cabinet was detonated, killing most of the Nova Scotian leadership including the President himself. One man who survived, General Percival Smith, realized that Nova Scotia was beginning to collapse, with chaos throughout the country. So, he gave a public broadcast: "People of Nova Scotia and the world as a whole, as of the past few days, my country has been torn asunder by massive riots. With the death of most of the nation's leaders, I have come to realize that it is impossible for us to control by ourselves only. Thus, I hereby announce that the Free State of Nova Scotia is dissolved. It has ceased to exist as a sovereign nation. I bid you all goodbye." As he walked away from the camera, Smith wondered if he was doing the right thing...

Nova Scotia is hesitant to recognize this new incarnation of the United States as we recall previous versions have all failed miserably. There is nothing to prevent this new United States from doing the same.

Foreign Minister Cedric Peterson entered the room, escorted by an unarmed bodyguard and both men took up their seats at the table. Cedric smiled at seeing the little version of the Nova Scotian flag.

"Yes, the Free State is all ears to this agreement. After all, cooperation between the various North American states is essential to aid in dealing with national threats. Not all of us are large states like Ursalia or Pravus Ingruo, with our nation being an example of such."
