  1. thanks for the opportunity for some casualties NADC. let's have some fun.
  2. Here's to the only alliance I've ever known. Now on to a new adventure!
  3. and here i was all ambivelent about this war...thanks for giving me a reason to enjoy this beyond just blowing pixels up.
  4. This may be late in the process, but would it be possible to link the leader and forums in the nation page alliance affiliation field? Something like this? If not the leader (cause I would imagine spam will get annoying, especially if it's not the actual alliance's leader, just a "manager") then at least the alliance forums? Thanks!
  5. Hopefully the mods won't be involved in anything after the initial transition. A ruler taking over the national infrastructure and kicking out dissidents is a perfectly reasonable geopolitical outcome.
  6. Well, that's part of it, but in say SNAFU's case, we just weren't attacked (tip's hat to the rest of the TOP front) so all we had were offensive wars. Which is why we were so high in offensive wars per nation. I'm sure that number would have been less if we'd been hit.

  8. As much as many might wish to ignore it, the stats don't lie. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ah7ji6PY3Xx0dG5pdjRwR25EZGJyS2tpZ0syRWNFWUE#gid=0 Those may not all be EQ wars but man, that's a lot of war GOONS, well played. As for peace. Cool I guess.
  9. I definitely got a different meaning from your use of the word assume in your first post. Thanks for the clarification. As for what you're complaining against, hoping AA's to try and avoid taking responsibility for an alliance war, it appears that your side of the fence are the one's doing it, if not exclusively, at least in the vast majority of the cases.
  10. This is absolutely hilarious. Is a member of MK really saying that they can't keep track of people declaring wars on them who are actually flying the AA's of the people in the coalition they attacked? What happened to the "we always AA hop, you guys are incompetent if you can't track us". FFS, you guys are apparently hard pressed to even keep track of the official alliances you're at war with.
  11. As someone who has deliberately kept my nation small after getting a cash infusion for my MP, I can understand the allure, but I think the issue is the fact that they project other people's power as their own. It's true, they've earned it through wise politicking but it does tend to grate on the nerves. As a matter of fact, I would think the people on your side would be very sympathetic to the feeling since GOONS' operating philosophy seems to be quantity over quality when it comes to nation building.
  12. I was under the impression that you guys were invite only? So you invite noobs and build them up from day one? It's a very sweeping generalization that you make, but are the vast majority of the nations in the "Competence Coalition" native to their respective uber alliances? I'm not taking anything away from those individual ruler's nation building abilities, or even the efficiency of those same uber alliances to accelerate the growth of an already motivated and experienced member, but to put down the majority of us that play a less regimented game is a pretty broad brush. (I'm someone who has stayed small throughout my entire CN career, first because it was part of the deal in an MP program we had, but then because it seems like rogues tend to be small and I like to fight. Just to fill in your impromptu survey.)
  13. +1 a million times over. Thank you for saying this.
  14. Your members who've "accepted their fate" may be the exception but most alliance members are not going to throw themselves on the proverbial sword as readily as you seem to indicate. It is an interesting perspective though...
  15. They can certainly purchase tech, but if every seller they have gets hit they'll find they're buying from the game more and more often. Not to mention the fact that nuke turrets are only damaging 3-6 nations at a time. Unless some of these monster nations start selling off tech, there'll only be a couple at a time that are pulled down. A large alliance like NPO, IRON or Ai could rotate enough people through to keep a fresh set of staggers on every 3 weeks if it was only 1 or 2 pulled down at a time. Imagine there's 100 "monster nations" that are buffered from the rest of EQ by the neutrals. All EQ has to do is build 3 people up to just the top 250, not very high at all and those 3 pick off one target. They essentially ignore all of the counters and concentrate on bringing one nation down with them. Those 3 nations will be out of commission for awhile, but once that one guy is brought down to reachable level it would only take 12 mid tier nations to constantly grind him down with a full back collect in between for each nation. That guy will be down to buying back and firing 2 nukes a day (maybe hitting with both, but most likely not) and while it'll be painful there won't be any reason that couldn't be kept up for months at a time with 2-3 of their nations. Again, it's not whether it can be done, it's whether there's the will to do so. Over the course of two months, just spy ops and defeat alerts can wear away $1.5billion, which is not even counting the cost of bills and continuously buying back to get nukes. How many people are going to want to live through that grind on the losing end?
  16. I've seen it suggested that a DMZ be established. If that happens, EQ nations can not only cycle out for collections and nuke resupply they can back collect and infra jump (helping to even out the warchest discrepancy). It all depends on our/their ability to retain the will to prosecute this war.
  17. That's surprising moreso because of update than anything else.
  18. Tech's main advantage is when fueling nukes. As long as EQ keeps 3 on 1 with mostly SDI equipped nations that tech advantage is much less important. The question is do we have the will and the stomach to keep this going?
