C&G Conundrum

There are several ways to address this "problem". The first is to mention that C&G is an alliance bloc that contains a varied and nuanced membership. The second is to highlight the fact that these two statements aren't contradictory, although would be somewhat irrational if we accept that those who think war is fun would never want there to be war again. The 3rd is to mention that war for C&G is probably more fun if it occurs on C&G's terms, and that constant war obviously will become unfun at some time for some or most of the membership.

    C&G Conundrum

Explanation: C&G is a nuanced organization with a diverse membership. That said, those two assertions by C&G members aren't fundamentally opposite or contradictory
  4. Toast sounds pretty good right now, although I am quite fond of English muffins with honey and peanut butter
  5.
I kinda like the way things are at the moment. So no. Also, there is no secret war plans being discussed in Athens at this point in time. =(
What about the ones to take down you know who? *whispers* Mushking roomdom >_>
  6.
Oh...guess a lot of people need to give reps to GGA then. And TOOL. And Legion... A lot of reps. Or do you get reps because our side won?
If Legion/GGA/TOOL wants to ask for reps in their surrender terms, they may do so; and it would be up to those fighting them to accept. I can't make judgement on those alliances however... I just feel lucky enough that NATO and TFD were willing to accept the number I gave them so readily, and I am thankful that they've been so cooperative in this whole ordeal
  7.
500million to FoB? For what?
Getting the !@#$ kicked out of us, I suppose
  8.
What's with all those cash reps? Noone wants tech anymore? Also why are some allowed to send aid? Just seems sort of inconsistent. Apart from that good terms. Should be easily paid of.
FoB has very little use for tech at this point, most of our membership is in the lower ranks, and any tech that would be sent to us would either have to be sent to the mid range/larger nations or would be sent to the small nations where they would then waste an aid slot using them in a tech deal. Money is just better for the small nations
  9.
So the reparations will not take place until the war is completely over, or what? Also, how is the 500M divided between TFD and NATO?
Yes, and 50/50
No, 250 each.
   This is correct
  10. Hooray for peace EDIT: Damn I'm fast
  11. Congrats to Wolfpack for getting peace, and one that contains terms on your opponents at that
  12.
Then you may want to be more specific as opposed to labeling all of those who used oAs. Next time, something like "Yet again, it's only wrong when my enemies do it."
I don't care for right and wrong of those not in contact with me. I am only concerned with my enemies because I seek not to become some kind of moral imperialist, preaching right and wrong to those who haven't effected me. I concern myself with my enemies because they have effected me, and I find it rather relevant the mode by which they became my enemy.
  13.
Yeah, sort of like all of the other war declarations that weren't needed. Choose your arguments carefully here.
I'm not acting as an arbiter against every oA declaration in this war; only 2 It's an important point to learn; I don't seek to push others around with my own views of the world, only those that seek to interfere with us.
Hey, that's up to them. All they need is that little declaration and they get to determine it. Or are you controlling ODN foreign policy now?
Yes
  14.
I look forward to your declaration of war on FAN.
ODN isn't at war with FAN, and therefore your comments are irrelevant and worthless, seeing as ODN doesn't get to determine whether or FAN gets peace
  15.
This devolved into trashing the alliances in the OP, no way! I would be careful with that, some of those on your side of the war used oA's to assist overwhelmed alliances.
Indeed, like the ghost DoW that GR did to get TFD/WAPA on NATO. That said, I'm not talking about the specifics of the treaty, I'm talking about the intent of the declaration; FoB was posing no threat to IRON that required the assistance of NATO or TFD.
  16.
Why? I'm pretty sure they knew they were on the losing side before they joined.
Difference between mandatory defense and optional aggression; it's pretty clear that alliances that wish to wage aggressive war should be treated different in the end from those that are forced into a defensive conflict
  17. While I can't speak for the rest of the combatants, there is a special place in [s]my heart[/s] the depths of hell for those who oA into a CB-less war I'm looking at you NATO and TFD
  18. Not an okay thing to do, actually
  19. I jumped two TOP guys after being in peace mode, then I got hit by two NATO guys and a TFD guy. That one part where I didn't have a huge drop was the one night I managed to win most of the defensive ground attacks and bombing runs. Then I got locked out a few nights in a row and basically lost everything. I started turtling to save myself from 1400 infra losses a day. The wars expired on the 9th-10th, and I'm currently nuking some FEAR/TFD guys who attacked me. Nukes every night except the first, I think
  20. I know that there have been a few times, when as an alliance leader I've done a public rebuke of something the membership of FoB has said, but I can't really say that I agree with what you're saying. I think it's got more to do with the rising tensions during war and the buildup to a war
  21. quick, declare on FoB to win
  22.
So you mean we aren't supposed to switch our AA's to TFD PoW at update tonight?
Well, I've been doing that every night of the war to provide support to those nations in FoB who don't have as strong fortitude
  23. Happy birthday ODN, I hate you all Especially Joracy
  24. OOC: well, I'm talking more about the difference in how CN has the land and tech raid functions, where is makes returning things exactly back to the same a lot more difficult than in real life. I''m referring more toward changes in potential land amounts and tech levels, which in real life could be representative of say Germany annexing all France, hypothetically. It doesn't quite fit, but when nations go from huge infra levels to low ones, along with land and tech, we can't really call it a white peace :\
  25. I'm not sure if White Peace can actually truly exist on Planet Bob; the definition of white peace holds that after the war is over there would be an exact return to the way things were before the war. I would have to say that this would hold true for land, tech, and infra levels. What we actually call white peace is really a termless Uti possidetis, which allows for conquered territory.
