  1. RV, as much as I love you, you are neither Tom Joad nor John Rambo... And I don't think anyone else would say the sanctioning is over "nothing". I suppose it was military force or economic sanction to remove a ghost. Surely one is a more peaceful option, and isn't that what we all want?
  2. This poll delivers a bit of insight into the average "age" of the OWF reader/poster. Also, I joined shortly after GW3.
  3. I would also agree with LUE vs. NPO. Seems like it had the biggest impact of any of these rivalries yet put forth. I guess arguments could be made for NAAC/NPO, or FAN/NPO... I'm sensing a pattern here.
  4. Now all you need is someone in MK to re-roll with nation and ruler names of "Mushroom Kingdom" so you guys could have MK win every category, even the individual ones.
  5. Congrats to the winners. MK once again shows off an astounding ability when it comes to voting, I've always admired that.
  6. I can agree with blue balls war, no other.
  7. I agree with this, the bullet is a nice addition, but I really like seeing nation count in there, it is usually a good indication of a lot of things, like bulking up for war, desertions, and just general flow. Also makes it easy to see how close to sanctionable member count people are.
  8. To be fair, Gopher did say eastern timezone, not eastern coast... there is a difference. And the east coast of the US is all on the same tz. Of course those canucks have to be all special and get a different one, but I suppose they need something to keep them entertained.
  9. Okay, that was awesome. Either way, I doubt the surrender terms will be accepted by many. After the last war they fought, you gotta figure most of that type are long gone.
  10. Ivan, regardless of any and all of the issues, NSO's public handling and chest thumping have made me lost quite a bit of respect, and the jabs you take at the end of your OP have caused the same. I don't want explanations from NSO and friends about how they weren't meant that way, they read that way, and you won't convince me otherwise. Either way, I'm glad to see the matter firmly behind us.
  11. Welcome back, good luck, hopefully it goes as you plan.
  12. I applaud your sentiments, but I can't really see the point of this, I mean, chaces are the warmongers are gonna beat the drums just as loud, and the rest of the people will just repond, same as always. Good idea though.
  13. To be fair, if the requirement was 300, you might see greater recruiting efforts and thus more players.
  14. I dunno, 99% of my IC is exactly the same as my OOC, plus the bias I gained during the time when I learned CN politics. I'm fairly certain most people play exactly the same way, and then claim they don't.
  15. He speaks the truth, mpol took all of the IPoCĀ©.
  16. I'd imagine the norm is somewhere around 120 days, but it could probably be done much faster with proper planning.
  17. Meh, I still don't think the whole sign a bunch of treaties thing is so important, it's good to know who your friends are, but 99% of the time, putting it on paper shouldn't really be necessary.
  18. The way I see it, the line between IC and OOC was blurred so long ago by things such as IRC and EZI that it only exists anymore in the context of these boards and posting rules. I would rather fight with people I know, and like, (even if I only know a small portion of the members) than with people I signed a treaty with. It's a tough way to play, based off of treaties, because everyone has a different agenda. If you don't base your play off of friendship, regardless of how it came about, then I can't imagine a treaty lasting. I think we've seen politically motivated treaties cancelled hundreds of times over at this point.
  19. I have a question, how is it that FAN and NPO end up on the same team... again?
  20. I dunno what category it fits in, maybe wall of text, but stumpy's !@#$%*ing out of NPO in that insanely long thread about the communities they destroyed was pretty sweet. Not to mention the aneurysm he had after when no one would address it. Guess that thread could be nominated for the best one simply because it's the largest one ever. I'd toss out Aircastle for best econ system... And I'll toss out Nintenderek for best signature.
  21. You could do a member count survivor... Or just stick to the way the last one was done. Then again, I would prefer the original best, I think.
  22. Yeah, they did, I didn't pay attention to the ASR back then, but I know that when ASC merged into RoK it was a pretty big gain for em.
