1.
A lot of them. And who's to say they haven't come from alliances that hadn't experienced a beatdown before their departure?
Sup, fought for \m/ until dissolution during UJW.
2. The more lead spent, the more piles of rubble emerging and the greener the planet gets, the better. o7 Polaris
3. OOC: For clarification: Midway was not permanently populated - it had a single building which served as both as a monitoring station for local wildlife and a (very) minor refueling base for Vinilandese ships. It is far too small to have a significant military base in there.
4. Great, a war when I'm about to go away from CN for a while. Hail Johan and the such, and... You know, when I see MK'ers posting "NO HONOR" and the such all over the board when they certainly knew they'd come under fire... are you sure you're not the ones desperate to keep your stats? Hey, I thought you loved the green rays.
5. Well, I declared it would be a Tahoan protectorate and Mudd did move into Viniland so it should be marked as his protectorate.
6. '68 Atlético Vinilandês 3 - 4 Dun Carrig Bohs Own goal: The unfortunate player was Aníbal Paiva I AM SO ANGRY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
7. NATION LINK: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=131081 TEAM NAME: Stampaders (as Viniland went kapoof so the team currently plays on improvised/borrowed field) TEAM COLORS: Whatever I had last tournament ()
8. OOC: Well, it's temporary - as in, several months. My nation is going to be sat during my leave of absence. I may come back around April but I can't guarantee that - depends on how busy I'll be then.
9. Make all of Viniland a Tahoe Protectorate. Cheers.
10. No one truly knew what direction Viniland was going to take. In an unique twist of fate, the nation was almost evenly split between the ruling Partito Libertario (Libertarian Party), led by incumbent Prime Minister Pasquale Bianchi and the People's Republican Party (People's Republican Party (essentially Socialist)), led by Helô Silveira. Although the Vinilandese traditionally favored laissez-faire and limited government many of the country's corporations were actively engaged in criminal activities which disturbed the public peace and at times claimed innocent lives, and the Libertarians did little to solve the problem. Increased government participation seemed to be the only solution, and the PRP offered it. But plenty of Vinilandese were not ready to give up freedom for security - hence the split. Whatever result the election yielded, it would be a surprise. But history would never have the opportunity to share the winner's name, for there would be none. On E-Day, five minutes before any citizen could go to the ballots and cast their votes, a mysterious TV announcement blew the nation away: "Good morning, Viniland! Our men and women have no name, but we thought we'd let all of you know we have just seized control of ten nuclear silos across the country! *footage of nuclear silo's control rooms shown* All we ask is that no one goes voting today, or all major cities, from Nanaimo to Recife, will be little more than a wasteland. We will launch if we think the Army is trying to get us - and trust us, we have means of knowing if someone's outside of the silos. Out." As if that was not enough, a minute later, someone else invaded the airwaves: "Haha! We are the Socialist Revolutionaries, and we are under control of all of the silos the corporate scums have not seized! With our nukes, we will destroy them! We will make all corporate headquarters burn in a fiery blaze of hell!" Indeed, five nuclear warheads flied towards Calgari, Nadrink, Recife, Nanaimo and Kelowna - all renowned centers of Vinilandese Capitalism. Unfortunately for the nutters, the country's Strategic Defense Initiative was good enough to stop them before they could near their targets and were neutralized. Thus, the Revolutionaries possessed ten warheads - so did the mysterious figures, apparently working for corporations - although such would never be confirmed. Given the SDI was not flawless, no Vinilandese took the chance to cast their votes - the polling stations were closed, either way. And thus E-Day went by and nothing happened - although the nuclear silos were still under radical control. It was a blunder the Vinilandese Army could not explain, other than the radicals must have been long-time sleepers and were waiting for an opportunity to take over the silos. For fear of large-scale civilian casualties, no one took any action to defuse the situation - except the Vinilandese Intelligency Agency who owned fail-safe computers that were remotely connected to the warheads and could shut them down. Yet, for some unknown reason they could not access the missiles, indicating the radicals must've somehow tampered with the system. Instead of having to put up with the fear of being blown up, Pasquale Bianchi requested the whole of the out-of-control country to be made into a Tahoan protectorate. What most Vinilandese did within the upcoming weeks was to move elsewhere - overwhelmingly, the chosen destination was Tahoe - although out of the some 30 million migrants, some 100,000 Italophones would cross the Pacific towards the Italian Peninsula. Very few would stay behind - including those who had seized the silos - who would remain where they were for quite a while. OOC: Lame ending, I know, but RL has called and it'll keep me occupied for a while. I don't want to have an RP nation taking up so much room so Viniland is now a Tahoe Protectorate. It's been fun, CNRP.
11. "Likewise we have no qualms about the treaty's text and support it."
12. Damn, stedeonn. As expected our match was a goal fest. Shucks that my best defender was sent off at '81 - else your equalizing goal might not have happened with two minutes remaining.
13. "Viniland raises the same concerns as Tahoe. The government does not hold a stake in any private telecommunications company - except owning a subsidiary meant to broadcast news and updates during times of crisis or war. We will not impose restrictions on any private Vinilandese radio stations currently broadcasting into Oklahoma unless aspecific broadcast becomes the source of concerns. Likewise, we are constantly training our military along borders - we will report, however, any operation that could be mistaken with a show of power or threat of invasion." "Also, we do not see the necessity of punishing military personnel who are on leave and are going from Addison to Tahoe or Viniland or vice-verse. Even the toughest men in the globe likes vising neighboring countries every once in a while."
14. oh god, with all of these mergers in America I might have to merge with Mudd.
15. Nation: Viniland (Same as in RP) Ruler: V The King Link: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_d...ation_ID=131081 Nationality: Brazilian
16. "Viniland does not particularly care about how the people of the Hudson Reich wish to rule themselves and confirms its sovereignty from the Vinilandese protectorate."
17. "Oklahoma should be more enough for the Celts. We take our protectorate very seriously and do not wish to throw around land like it was nothing."
18. A short statement from the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs "While we will not specifically support any side, we will merely state that Viniland will not allow any European troops to set foot in the Americas and will militarily support Louisiana if that be the case. If you want to take the war somewhere other than Europe then you probably shouldn't."
19. CNRP Nation: Viniland Factbook (If applicable): Check sig. Side Supporting: Neutral Method of Support: - Other Notes: Will become directly involved if mainland Louisiana is threatened.
20. "Viniland passively discourages American nations from expanding aboard. However, given the transfer of territory was peacefully negotiated between two sovereign nations we will merely congratulate Spain and Louisiana for reaching an agreement. The European reception might not be as warm and dull as ours, however." OOC: Wording
21. Celso Amorim took his seat. He took a quick glance at all of those present, registering their appearances and processing his thoughts on each of them, merely based off their impressions. After a scant pause, he spoke: "I'm reckoning the Celts wish to settle in Oklahoma? In principle, Viniland grants sovereignty to any group of people that wishes to rule themselves within the protectorate. However, given the rather turbulent status of the said Celtic Texans, it is necessary for us to know what do you plan to do once you are granted independence and how the re-location of those Celts from Texas to Oklahoma will happen."
22. "It is quite saddening when a nation seems incapable to lead itself unless there is an idol-like person around to make the wheels turn. Deutschland strikes others as being a group of children that vehemently and thoughtlessly follow the schoolmaster but are thoroughly lost once he goes amiss for a while. Nevertheless, we congratulate the Martenecists for always finding a way to hold onto power."
23. "Viniland duly notes the fact RSSN and Sarnungian leaders sign formal agreement while buzzed."
