  1. "We have the formal paperwork in my briefcase Ambassador Tanner," replied Townsend. He set the briefcase on the table and popped it open and proceeded to take out one of the many draft documents, handing it over to the Oregon Republic delegates. Meanwhile, a Federation official that worked at the Hudson Bay Embassy strolled up to Townsend with the latest cable from Winnipeg, describing the fall of Mexico and subsequent actions. Townsend would frown and then looked up at the group assembled before him, "Well gentlemen, let's not get to distracted by this latest news from my superiors in Winnipeg, but it seems Mexico has fallen. Our country and several others are establishing peacekeeping operations in certain areas of the fallen territory, my superior has asked for your help in establishing a Pacific Coast/Great Basin security zone while a meeting is formed to decide the future of the regions... Anyhow, we still have a treaty to sign."
  2. In Hudson Bay, the news of the annexation of Sleepy Hollow into the Faraway realm was met with mixed emotion in the public media; however, the general consensus was positive to see the country's eastern border under a better sense of order. No official government statement would be issued though.
  3. Minister Townsend and the BC officials took to their seats and began the meeting. "Well, Ambassador Tanner, it seems that after much deliberation among federal Federation officials and southern BC representatives since the revote that it is in the best interest of the southern BC citizens that we discuss their wish to join the Oregon Republic." Demands and plans were laid out on the table and via Powerpoint for all to see the plans of partition. All the maps did show that the city of Prince George remained in Federation territory in every plan. One of the BC officials Kamloops said, "While the Federation has been good to us in the collapse of the Western Union, your country's efforts and proximity is much better suited for our needs in the long term than what the Federation can provide." Townsend nodded, "So the current proposal that the Federation supports is a partition starting from the Pacific Ocean at about the 52nd parallel going between Hunter Island and Hecate/Calvert Island near Bella Coola, northward between Hunter Island and the mainland to King Island. At King Island, the border will cut through the inlet separating King Island and the mainland, with King Island in Federation hands and continue eastward to the mouth of the Bella Coola River. The city of Bella Coola will be Republic territory since it's on the southern side of the river and the border will be the river until it passes the 52 20'N and eastward to the Alberta border." Other proposals varied to as far as shy of the 53rd parallel to as low as 51st parallel.
  4. Video call to perform rock, paper, scissors.
  5. Great Northern Times Edition 11 Alberta, Saskatchewan Officially Join Federation Calgary, Alberta - Throngs of thousands crowded the provincial government building here in Calgary as a formal ceremony signified Alberta's entry as part of the federation of local governments to join under the banner of Hudson Bay. A parade crawled down the main street of Calgary before the signing ceremony inside that thousands gathered. Similar demonstrations played only in Edmonton, Saskatoon and other major towns in the two provinces. British Columbia Revote Signals Differences; Talks with Cascadia Develops Prince George, British Columbia - HBFEC officials have finished their revote with registered voters of British Columbia citizens as the proposal to let BC join Hudson Bay failed to gain majority vote in the process. A new ballot was issued last month and put to a vote to clarify the population's position. Election results by county revealed a strong leaning to join Cascadia in most of southern counties of Hudson Bay administered BC, as HBFEC BC Election Supervisor, Joanna Salio, stated to the press earlier, "The new election results showed that the populations in southern BC favor future administration by Cascadia rather than us; however, results around Prince George and northward showed strong numbers for Federation administered services and official province-hood. Franklin Townsend, Assistant Minister on North American Affairs commented for the federal government's position on the matter saying, "We've been in talks with Cascadia if this occurred and we expect Cascadia to be quite cooperative in future integration talks that have been underway for sometime. We have allowed Cascadian personnel to aid the people of southern BC as the Western Union fell."
  6. Then I sincerely apologize, I must have miss that one line IC post somewhere. Anyways, back to the quiet corner of the world I play in.
  7. Great Northern Times Edition 10 Referendum on Joining the Hudson Bay Placed on Ballot CALGARY, ALBERTA - The newly acquired areas of Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia had the citizen's of the region to vote officially on joining the Federation of Provinces of Hudson Bay. The Hudson Bay Federation Election Commission issued millions of ballots throughout the three province regions for this historic vote. Voter turnout appeared just above 70% of an estimated 20,000,000 voters that registered in the months leading up to the vote. "We believe in the democratic progress of allowing the people to choose their governance," stated Vice Chancellor Edwin Mallory. Strong voting presence in Alberta and Saskatchewan heavily favored joining the Federation at 63% and 77% respectively, while British Columbia was fairly split at a 48% in favor of joining the Federation, falling well short of the majority needed to officially join. The HBFEC stated that a district-to-district revote would be needed to decide the fate of BC.
  8. Hey, everyone that's not involved in the war, stop posting. You have no business posting anymore, unless you're explicitly contacted for some legitimate reason. Stop enflaming other's with your opinions and please stop the peanut gallery. Already enough problems as there is with the people involved. So, just stop. It's getting me angry to even see this. If Curristan wants to contact me, he knows where to find me. PS: Triyun, I know you're a busy person. But for all that is good and true, stop whining, please. I only inquired on the thread this past week or so because nobody has talked to each other for about a month, at least that I know of. I've been enjoying leave and didn't want anything with this while home. I know I've been real considerate to people's IRL situations, but turning around and whining while earlier giving me an earful to give no quarter is extremely hypocritical and distasteful. PPS: Also thanks for telling me this week on how the Conflict GM position works and it's duration. Chow. PPPS (Edit): I'm also disgusted by the level immaturity of the people involved on each side talking other people down. If there was a channel in IRC with just you two debating on tech, I probably would have raged quit, since the PM exchange was bad enough. I have an extreme amount of choice bad words to say to either party that I could not publicly say here. That's my honest opinion, regardless of the 'bias' I seemed to produce. Footnote: Just an fyi, Triyun, you're past 25 days since posting anything IC-ly. Have a good day.
  9. I'm going to be away again on travel from tomorrow until sometime next week or so.
  10. As the officiating neutral party in the matter, if the parties involved are in agreement to a wipe. Before a wipe is made (if that is the choice between the warring parties), the conditions of the wipe, and the regards of Africa with Operation Suleiman. Whether you decide to have it IC-ly done (somewhat suggested due to the complexity of where the war sits) or a full wipe, it's really up to you guys flesh out and for me to suggest and look it over. In this way, it puts on you guys to solve it out still. I'll only step in if you cannot agree. EDIT: Everybody had their reasons for stalling with their IRL lives, so let's get over that fact and stop blaming when no one is really free to judge at this point.
  11. At this point, I'm inclined to highly suggest on a wipe. But I'm not the party to make that happen though.
  12. I have suggested things. Weeks did go by before I was assigned to moderate this shindig. Most my work was done between January 10 to about the 22nd. So, the length of time in absent and not in discussion is the same at this point. I know I denied auto advances because talks were underway, but talks haven't been underway since late January. I don't want to see anyone of you folks to pull out the "I'm better than thou" card, you'll all equally guilty at stalling at this point. The only person that has really disagreed was Triyun. EDIT: I've been waiting for the non-AUP to come back to the table, but I heard nothing. Ever since the pressure to auto advance during talks were denied, that's something I would not do as both sides were in discussion. If there were no talks, I would have granted those auto advances.
  13. I remember the days that 250GB was said that "it could not be filled", that was quickly proven wrong in three years. I easily have 200GB just for games alone and 1TB for other media. But in reality, I should have 3-4TB for other media though.
  14. "Indeed, that discussion is much too soon at this point. We have our Transport Ministry staff overlooking infrastructure to make a list of repairs and things needing upgrades. Well, if that is all, it's been a pleasure to meet you. I'll be back later after the referendum to meet again," concluded Townsend.
  15. "We would be glad to accept humanitarian assistance in the region below the 52nd parallel. This will show the goodwill between us and give the local population a more positive view of the Oregon Republic when the referendum comes about. We look forward in future dealings with your nation in the near future," answered Townsend. "Is there anything else that you would like to discuss?" OOC: An IC referendum will be held later this week.
  16. "Well the Russian administered Vancouver and Vancouver Island has gone smoothly, I have to admit. So the Federation hasn't questioned the future of the Russian administered area due to the relative peace in the area since the war," replied Townsend. "Thus our dealings with the Russians has been without a meeting to discuss it's future, then again, we've been preoccupied internally." "Our annexation is for order at this point; however, we do plan on a formal referendum on joining the Federation or not down the road sometime. While the Federation government recognizes the historical context of Oregon Country, we would be able to accommodate a semi-autonomous region of BC at the 52nd parallel until the referendum. We believe that the region above the 52nd are more associated with the Yukon or Tianxia Alaska at this point. This would cover from the southern end of Queen Charlotte Island east to the Continental Divide to include the entire Columbia River watershed."
  17. Well, I have to admit, most of Asia isn't all hyped up to play regular "Imma rp'ing my nation doing stuff, hey-o look at me" when next door is the giant red blot. Most the work so far is the fantasy adventuring over there. I know it's bad since the Goodwill Tour was near the top of page 2 for over a month. I mean sure, outside of Markus and the war, there isn't much going on.
  18. The flight over was one without incident. Assistant Minister Townsend arrived in Portland with himself and a couple aides. The usual Federation Security Detail agents assigned to diplomatic and governmental assignments were quite absent when they touched down in PDX. The tour of Portland was quite nice and a pleasant introduction to the region. Business began promptly when they got to the Hub. "Why yes Minister Tanner, the status of British Columbia is something we're reviewing at the moment with our annexation of former Western Union territory. I'm here today to figure your position on British Columbia and Russian Vancouver. The Federation has a vested interest in the region after the fall of the Northern Imperium. I offer no concrete deals at this point as it's too soon on the process of restoring order in the region. Let me be frank, our interactions between us do not warrant anything substantial yet, at least that's how the folks in Manitoba see it." Townsend would continue,"We're also interested in seeing Vancouver return to local entity at some point, peacefully, of course, but we would like to hear your thoughts? That is however a separate and more delicate process that will not be a high priority of discussion with my time."
  19. Federation troops moved into former Western Union territory and external points of entry were re-secured to begin the steps of the new era of Western Canada's dominion by the Hudson Bay Federation. While troops were the main publicity going on, thousands of governmental staff from agencies like the Interior Ministry, Transportation Ministry, Commerce and others poured staff into the various cities and town in the coming months to document and inventory businesses and property of the Unionist citizens. Old tax code was poured over by the Finance Ministry to ensure smooth transition in federal, provincial and local taxes to the new populace complied with Federation regulations. For the meantime, all points of entry into the Western Union would be closed until the security situation no longer warranted a full-time military presence. ____________________________________________________________________ Meanwhile, Assistant Foreign Minister to North American Affairs, Franklin Townsend, would be dispatched to the Oregon Republic to discuss diplomatic issues in light of the acquisition of the Western Union with new neighbors.
  20. The Western Union is to be merged into Hudson Bay, at least for now.
  21. Several Light Calvary Brigades throughout the Federation, totaling 50,000 troops have been issued to full alert mobilization in Western Manitoba and around Yellowknife. The Joint Chiefs of Staff and Foreign Affairs Ministry has agreed on an action plan over the lack of communication with the Western Union. No official announcement has been issued on the action. Air Force General Leo Charles has pledged to assist in the assessment of the nearby nation with several sorties of aircraft to observe the state of the country. _____________________________________________________________________ Federation forces would be later ordered into the Western Union to secure towns and known military installations over the next week.
  22. Slap a few 7950s or 670s in SLI/Crossfire and watch those next gen consoles get smoked.
