I guess we wont agree on the "calling off" part since i dont think TPF had any power to call off anything with an alliance they were on bad terms with. If thats the CB its a lame technicality. Intent is a wholly different story but again in this case you cant use the "not calling off" as a excuse to prove it. Although you dont ever really need to prove anything if you can just do it, we are pretty much arguing for arguments sake here. Finally by your logic NPO and friends had every right to roll GATO for the CK thingy way back when. That also was a technicality that showed a certain intent not beneficial to the parties involved. How do you cancel a plan with someone that you are no longer on talking terms with. And just because it was a long term plan doesnt mean all back channel communication is cut. From what i have read in the case of ZH that would be kinda like firing someone after they have quit. If you have a way of telling that the intention (but not the means) was still there when the wars were declared, then by all means roll em.

Which part of that is OOC? The alliance is your enemy. You use all tactics available to defeat it. Attacks on alliance culture are as justifiable as conventional military ones. (But then again i dont do IC).

For Gre it was a war of sides. Its as simple as that. While some of us said it openly others didnt but still acted on it. The fact that 2 Gre were in the top leadership of the karma military is the best proof. Doch if you had declared an unauthorized war you would have been yelled at for waste of resources. TPF were fully justified in doing what they were doing during the war (though sloppy). The key point is whether the activity went on after the war and for how long.

You are right, not having treaties does not give you that, you have that right inherently as an independent alliance. Just gotta make sure its for a worthy reason and that you dont drag down your allies (who hopefully wont follow you in a stupid endeavor) over something pointless.

Well im mainly focusing on the total unmitigated crap that the purpose and execution of this thread was. So yea, given my starting point, 2 days. The worst part (funny in a way) is that some of the people fell for the half assed "omg look ebil Athens" play attempted by Bilrow and are now seriously arguing over this instead of laughing at how lame his tactic is.

Same here. Oh well im pissed since i bought a lot of infra in preparation for the jump (mine was a double donation too) and Gre wasted a lot of slots on the guy. So yea he is on my EZI list (thats right im doing that) and hopefully on Gre's. Anyway ill settle for 150 tech since Invicta is offering although its really hard to hold the alliance accountable for the actions of a rogue.
